two things bugging me:

1)during the course of the speedrun there were several places where the guy went through walls (i remember 2 times near the elevator doors). Must be some glitch of the engine right?

2) the way he boosts himself with a laser gun: instantly look back, shoot charged shot and look forward again. Can be 2 things: either a script to do it or a rly high sensitivity.

and btw speed run "etiquette" (or w/e) does allow you to use older builds of a game for in-game exploits (like the speed bunny hopping seen here) for speed runs and still considers them legit. This is because if the game shipped with the bug then that was the original game and it's kosher to use that version as your speed run version.

bunny hopping is not a script or a hack it's just a skill that you can do with a mouse and keyboard in the old half-life engine (which is based on the old quake engine). it's pros only though not like the dumbed down movement in modern fps games like cod and such.

It's a speedrun. But either way, I'd prefer to see a more legit human play through without any sort of bunny hopping, bug abusing, or glitching. Bunny hopping, sure basically with enough practice anybody can do it, so some consider it to be a fair tactic, but when everybody does it, then it's a rather bland, and boring speedrun. I'm still searching for such a run, but it's a rather lost cause at this point. Points for effort anyway.
