Spending money cannot help the national debt because money itself is predicated upon debt via the federal reserve. I am not saying specifically that America will collapse, I am saying that the system it and indeed much of the world is predicated upon is mathematical untenable. When there is no new market (population) to exploit, this system eats itself.
@SonOfNye yes, spending can help, the government can't take the individual's money, but if the people of America spend, effectively it makes more jobs, it helps the big businesses and makes them bigger, it opens up more jobs and gets the government more money which will help with the national debt, and over time will fix the issue. people have started to spend and the economy has seen a slight improvement. this shows that spending will help. It may not fix it, but it will help.

It won't as long as Americans start spending their money, thus keeping businesses going, and therefor creating more jobs, making more tax payer money for the country. it would also help if the corporate businesses stopped outsourcing to other countries to find cheaper workers. Even still, America also has a lot of assets when it comes down to it. they have over a trillion dollars worth of oil, and many other resources. if worst came to worst, America could just stop importing resources they have

@girlsrinferiot2world 1) You notion of "start spending people" predicates on unlimited growth potential which does not exist on a finite planet. 2) After that premise, you state that corporations should stop outsourcing their labor, if they did virtual every consumer product would drastically increase in price, thus encouraging people to find a means to go without. 3) A trillions worth in oil stacked against an 18 trillion dollar deficit is paltry.

@SonOfNye other resources as well, they could just shut off their global trade and that would fix their economy, it would screw over numerous others and might not be the best for them in the long run, but it would fix it. i do acknowledge what you are saying about the oil but it is needed for fuel and such and until we find another fuel source oil will have to do. I am not saying America is fine, I know they have a tough time ahead, but America will be fine and it wont collapse.

@girlsrinferiot2world You are so optimistic, I simply cannot conceive of why. Spending money can't fix this problem, the problem is the system itself. Feudalism was born, it worked for a time, collapsed and was replaced with mercantilism, which worked for a time and collapse and so was born the free market capitalism, which worked for a while, but a system predicated on infinite growth is simply flawed. Surely you must see this.

Anyway how will the people spending more money not help, the main concern is the national debt and spending more money over time will open up more jobs, and get more money for the government, thus helping the economy. what is your opinion on this by the way are you saying that America will colapse? if my ideas dont properly adress the issue what would you propose?

@girlsrinferiot2world Growth, in the manner that we consider and measure it will level off, and flat line. Spending money cannot help the national debt because money itself is predicated upon debt via the federal reserve. I am not saying specifically that America will collapse, I am saying that the system it and indeed much of the world is predicated upon is mathematical untenable. When there is no new market (population) to exploit, this system eats itself.

@SonOfNye yes, spending can help, the government can't take the individual's money, but if the people of America spend, effectively it makes more jobs, it helps the big businesses and makes them bigger, it opens up more jobs and gets the government more money which will help with the national debt, and over time will fix the issue. people have started to spend and the economy has seen a slight improvement. this shows that spending will help. It may not fix it, but it will help.
