could you imagine the fueds this guy coulda started with guy like shawn micheals CMPUNK blah even john cena SUCKS anybody and thet woulda been classics
These promos made my monday and thursday nights back in 2003. I really don't understand why they never expanded upon this instead of throwing him into that Piper/McMahon/Rikishi/Gowen clusterfuck.
@TheMetalhead013 yeah but I think this was the only time he metioned that stuff, he went against anything and CM punk would only care about the drinking/smoking stuff but it still would have been good if they both would have been heels.
Great gimmick but anyone thinking WWE dropped the ball on this guy needs to have seen him wrestle first. He wasn't awful, but he wasn't the 2nd coming either...
i dont think you understand, when i say real heat i mean REAL HEAT, from people outside of the wwe, people who dont even watch wrestling.
theres the good type of heat where someone is made to look evilish, then theres the bad type of heat which includes real heat.
bad heat such as mohammad hassan causes the wwe to lose sponsors. which means a durastic loss of money in the bank... also forcing people to look at the angle with disdain and stop watching lowering ratings
@ivenstorm they have FACED that before with Stone Cold Steve Austin, but GAINED new sponsors...Vince is a genius, he could've found a way around that..
vince is hardly a genius, hes just a kid in a candy store that his father left to him. Austin didnt have the tendancies of Hassan.
UPN which hosted smackdown at the time threatened to take it off the air if this gimmick wasnt taken off.
remember its not popularity with the fans that vince cares about, its popularity with the network, hence why so many great gimmicks failed like mordecain and well sean o haires devils advocate
Vince's father didn't leave him the company, VInce had to buy it from him. That's why he was in danger of losing the company around the time of the first Wrestlemania. If that show wasn't a hit, he would never have made the balloon payment that was coming due on his loan.
O'Haire, as I understand, was fired because he was a difficult and unreliable backstage.
Also if he pisses of the network, where would he get the money to put on the show?
some1...ANY1...must bring this guy...&/or this type-of-character...back 2 either wwecw/roh/nwa/awa(wsl)/tna...maybe w/ a franch-canadian &/or russian-esque &/or middle-eastern accent(s)...especially as either a face &/or a "tweener"...could u imagine morrison w/ this persona...it would be m'r-f'n' EPIC!!!!!
@djchapsticks ya but how could they not now what to do. i mean there is soo much to do he can make a lil cult of other wrestlers that he turned kinda like punks ses. He could of manipulated whoever the gm was at the time to do whatever he wanted but no they blew it. Now he is in mma and not really doing to good i wish he would staid and they wouldnt of messed this up.
As much as O'Haire was awesome (I too drank the koolaid) no one actually paid attention to his wrestling during this time in his career. In WCW and early on in WWE he had that great look and could move for a big guy. But around this time he was out of shape and getting blown up in matches. just find some of his shit (squashes on Velocity, his shit alongside Piper) he looks BRUTAL! he fucked it up himself.
Mordecai flopped because Kevin Fertig not creative I mean the guy was sooooo bad his voice didn't fit the character and he looked very silly in ring attire i think mordecia could be something better with a black person with blond hair I dont know but not benjammin I could imagine elijah burke in a gimmick like that but hes not big
And this is an example, of why the wwe has their head up their asses. Why did they release such talent good as this? This is guy is world championship material. thumbs up if i'm right!
@respect43 I think it had something to do his attitude backstage, but I don't know for sure. He definitely was World Championship material. These promos reminded a bit of some of Jake the Snake's heel promos.
Oh I agree! The whole build behind these promos was that Sean O Haire was to have a "devil's advocate" type of gimmick. The reason why he didn't get his push, is at the last minute wwe got cold feet and didn't think he could pull it off on his own. Instead, they paired him with Piper and needless to say it went nowhere. This would have made an awesome fued especially if Punk was allowed to play off of his ROH "straight edge" character

This is a guy who WWE dropped the ball on BIG time when Piper got released! This guy needs to come back, he's like 40 now but I bet he can still go!

Sean O'Haire vs CM Punk WrestleMania 35. Book it WWE!

With the exception of the spend time away from your family line, this would've been a very good face promo against CM Punk.

WWE wasted two gimmicks like Muhamad Hassan and Sean Ohaire...for what? MVP?? and all those worthless NEW wrestlers with no character whatsoever ??
CityofAngelsAGC 1 year ago 2
well hassan was generating real heat, not the kind that the wwe needed, especially when the 9/11 stuff happened so wwe had to act quickly

problem with o'haire is, he didnt liked the acting stuff too much, he just wanted to be who he was
nevertheless he was very athletic, strong, and fast, and had incredible moves for his size

These were some excellent promos, but they botched his build up and never gave him a push. WWE writers at it again
