  • Great video. I loved your wife's little takeover. I used to think your songs were a bit weird at the end, but I found that although I only understood one or two words, it was very helpful to have the lyrics on the screen while you sang them. It's great for my reading efforts. Besides you are very musical and that appeals to my musical ear! BTW the lyrics ran a bit too fast on this one and they were off the screen by the time you sang them (towards the end). Spasiba!

  • Dear Victor, I assume that you are from Russia, are you? i like your lessons and they got me on the road learning Russian.

  • heeeyy i cant post anything here!!!:(((

  • You have posted - quite a bit, my friend. I'll have to clean up these repeated posts by you and your alter ego or people will not be happy!

  • ahahahah, sorry, Viktor!!;D yesterday I didnt see any posts!! and i thought i had some internet problems;D I never thougth I could be such an annoying spammer! sorry for that once again!;))

  • No worries. I hope you didn't think I blocked you. It was just a system problem.

  • yes, its anthropomorphic, thats why there is a word "detenysh" (proizvodnoe ot "ditya". Malyi v principe ne upotreblyaetsa v znechenii "detenysh", da i voobshe eto ne sushestvitelnoe, a prilagatelnoe. Hodovoe slovosochetanie s etim slovom - "malyi biznes" a bolshe ono osobo-to i ne upotreblyaetsa) So, "detenysh" we use only when we talk about animals)

Yeah, chimpanzees have much more alike features besides scull)

  • 3:26 "Kak nazivayotsa zhivotnie, kotorie dayut moloko svoim malym?"

Actually its incorrect. malyi = small. The noun for baby is redenok or deti (plural)

U have a funny accent when u speak english.. And when u speak russian u have it too. Where are u from?

Btw keep on making the vids! My friends who learn russian love your lessons))

  • You tell me what accent I have in Russian, it's not for me to say, is it? I don't like talking about newborn animals as "babies" as I find it a bit anthropomorphic in any language. Did you know that baby chimpanzees have skulls that look like miniature human skulls, btw?

  • I think a good joke for this lesson will be like one French joke i heard before: Someone to the parents of a baby:"Comment il s'appelle?" (how does the baby call himself, just like Russian, Spanish and French also use this expression for asking names.). The Parents answered:"Je sais pas, il ne peut pas encore parler" (We don't know, he can not talk yet.) :D

  • Hi, thank you for your videos, I am nald from Hong Kong, I was in MGU for 40 days learning Russian before. here is something i wanna ask, I like the song"the river flows" by Yulva a lot, but never manage to find its Russian lyrics, can you tell me where I can find it? or its proper name in Russian? thank you!

  • I don't recognise it from your description. Can you hum a few bars and I'll try to join in on the chorus?

  • OK, I will upload it to youtube later, thank you in advance.

  • Very nice lesson. In my opinion people should listen less music from the Ipods and sing much more themselves.

  • I listen to your good lecture that help

me study basic russian grammar. and

you're a good singer. thank for your

    good video.

  • And you're a VERY good commentator! Many thanks!

  • Huh, are animals considered inanimate in Russian?

  • good question. also, I think прийди is misspelled, shouldn't it be приди?

  • OK, I'll try and get it right in the book, when I write it!

  • Once again thank you for the lessons! Just wondering if you are planning any new ones.

  • I got number 18 in the pipeline...

  • Dude! It's Kpcart!

  • Great, very funny. It seems like there's 2 stresses on the word 3OBY, are there some words that have multiple stresses/?

  • Thanks for putting the time & effort into helping others learn this beautiful language.

I've used your lessons to supplement my self-study.

It's important to "attack" your Russian learning from many different angles. Meaning, grammar, movies, songs, books, practice conversing with a native. etc.

Anyway, look forward to your next lesson...

    Thanks again...

    Take care!

  • Viktor. Thank you for helpful and entertaining lessons. Is RL-102-14 the final lesson? If you have more lessons, where can I find them?

  • SPAHSEEBAH!!! I went to the public library and checked out some russian CD's and I didnt understand it as much as I understand you. I had no idea where to start and then I got on Youtube. Your the BEST! Peace and LOVE xoxo

  • spontaneous lyube. putin would approve. thanks for the upload.

  • Great lesson! Lot's of good useful stuff here. Great jokes. LOL More like riddles than jokes, but it sounds like American style humor to me. Especially the one about the cops losing their heads. :) I like the song, too. I'm going to have to learn that one. Thanks for the chords.

  • Great lesson, thanks. Liked both songs. My Russian isn't up to translating most of the words of the last one. Can anyone oblige?

  • большое спасибо. мне нравится этот новый урок!

  • Thanks for the lesson! I happen to be working on verbs right now and so this was extremely helpful!

  • Prof, outstanding as always. You have a way of making it look and sound so easy. I watch, listen and practice the words and phrases . I think I can speak and when I open my mouth garbage comes out. The kids laugh and Maryna corrects me. Damn what a life !!

  • spaceeba! Is that ivan kupala????

  • Don't think so.

  • nice job

  • Pretty Nice,
