  • I've just bought a giant whip rtpday

  • It looks tasty, i wonder if its crunchy to eat. Might be a meal for the guy at bizarre foods..

  • I want one SOOOOO bad!

  • I don't care what anyone says, Mad Eye Moody had it right

  • they dont have a sting like a scorpion because THERE NOT SCORPIONS

  • lol

  • whip scorps practically have "killing machine" written all over them

ironically, they're very mellow pets. i've never been hurt by one

  • Does ANYBODY KNOW THESE THINGS LIFESPAN?

  • @Depro900 7 years

  • Do they sting?

  • @thrilmaster No, they are safe, don't have any kind of poison and in my personal opinion, are lovely pets ;)

  • i would feel terrible if i break off that antenna.. T_T

  • my new pet

  • narrator is David Attenborough, a lifetime fan of mine.

  • @aallppiinnee Haha. Do you mean you're a fan of his?

  • heh yeah I sorta botched that. replace "fan" with "favorite"

  • What if you woke up with that on your chest? lol

  • That's actually a cricket. -.-

  • I don't think hairspray would kill this mofo.......jeeeeeeeze..

  • kreepy

  • @88pie88 Dayum, nature! You scary!

  • awesome!

  • This is from "The Living Planet" Jungle Episode. The narrator is David Attenborough

  • Why am I watching this right before I go to bed. T.T I'm going to have nightmares...

  • That thing is bad frikken ass!

  • Im Sorry But These Things Make Me Feel Fucking Sick ! And Im Not Even Scared Of Spiders

  • Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire has one

  • omg :O cant believe bear grylls ate one of these!!

  • I'm reminded of those things from primeval...

  • Damn that bee got owned

  • This scorpion looks littlebit like a spider and the claws make me scare.

Do they bites humans too ?

  • sometimes they are called whip spiders (usually the species with smaller tails.) as for biting humans, i'd be more worried about the types that shoot acid out of their backsides. this acid isn't extremely bad unless it gets in your mouth or eyes and even then, i doubt it would cause severe damage as it is made of acetic acid (essentially vinegar) and caprylic acid (found in breast milk).

  • yes, well known for biting humans.

  • damn nature you scary!

  • Holy smokes, thats like something out of a nightmare... and I'm not even arachniphobic!

  • it sounds like a Predator clicking and shit.

  • WTF !!!

  • Nice Footage, but next time, try feeding him a really big cricket, like maybe a juvenile weta.

  • It looks close to the half spider looking thingy from Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire. O.o

  • Agreed, that must have been a whip scorpion.

  • it is the half spider looking thingy.... DUR!

  • I know!!!! geez. >.>

  • That's because that half spider looking thingy from the harry potter movie is a CGI tailless whipscorpion...

  • Mental note: Never get reincarnated as a grasshopper ^^

  • @unknownwonder or a cricket

  • @unknownwonder to bad its a cricket

  • @unknownwonder you mean cricket ^^

    grasshoppers are WAY bigger :P

  • @unknownwonder And for making that mental note, you'll come back as a blade of grass...

  • Beautiful specimen, it looks like Heterophrynus species and MayaIloveyou was right, it is not a whip scorpion it's common name is Tailless whip scorpion more properly known as Amblypygid. Wonderful creatures.

  • Aww man :| just when i thought yeah i know all the freakiest shit walking on this beautiful planet that thing needs to crawel out.... FUUUUUUU!

  • Oo

    Great animal!

  • nom nom nom

  • I have both a whip scorpion and a tailless whip scorpion, both are equally amazing

  • They are awesome looking animals....

Damon Diadema and Damon Variegatus is on my "to buy" list...

    I Love Scorps..

  • A whip scorpion would rather be a vinegaroon (Uropygid) this is a Tailless whip scorpion :)

  • Although I am loath to correct the wonderful Sir David Attenborough I do have to say that these creatures do not have antennae as he says. These are arachnids and a major difference between arachnids and insects aparts from two extra legs is insects have antennae. The 'feelers' here are in fact first pair of legs modified to act as sensory organs. Fantastic creatures.

  • I didnt see you their gabonicabitis :D

    Guess who

  • Lol, good to see you dessicata, :)
