HOLY FUCK i was at that track meet 2 years ago and finished like 13 out of like 45 seniors in high school that guy was unreal!!! thank god i didnt race him!!! i would have had my ass handed to me
@jcd418314 theres a difference between track fast and football fast the top sprinter in my old high school and one of the top sprinters in the state of iowa this year isnt all that great at football sure hes ran back a few punts in his career but those were set up by blocking and not so much his speed once hes in the open field hes gone and no one can catch but he cant cut or switch direction worth a shit so unless everyone blocks he gets tackled or ran out of bounds
@MTWfreak why do i see they on every 100m sprint video, some clearly young kid who has barely began to devolpe all there fast and slow twitch muscles systems at the age of 14 will ever run a 11, infact at my school the record for age 14 (grade 9) was 11.93 and the offical canada record at that age is 11.34. so why arnt u and ur friend setting records in track?
@ThePhenom411 It's not exactly 11 it's about 11.8... And to QUALIFY for state in the 100m (8th grade) (Unless you get 1st or 2nd in regionals) is 12 seconds... so if the all-time record for your school (9th grade) is only 11.93... that's not that good. 200m state qualification is 26 seconds. Mile is something like 5:20 I have friends in 8th grade that run a 400m in 53-54 seconds, mile in 5 minutes, 200m in 24 seconds and so on, so don't get on here and accuse me of lieing.
@MTWfreak thanks to google i found the U.S track record for 13 year old males belongs to Micheal Grant, witch was 11.70, and your telling me to qualify its 12 seconds? witch also i researched and found nothing on, now that it is clear your lieing, either tape yourself actually running the 100m or stop believing your the track star of your school.
@ThePhenom411 I'm about 15. Not 13. And google does not know every schools track record. For the president's physical fitness test we did in 8th grade I set the fastest time for my school in the sprinting shuttle run. I'm not acting like a track star... I don't know why you think you have to be right... you are clearly wrong. Just because I am very strong and fast doesn't mean you have to try to prove that I am not.
@MTWfreak first of all didnt you say that you ran the 100m in 11. something? now your saying you did a shuttle run? you dont have your story straight, not hard to see who is "wrong".
every time i watch these vids it still amazes me that bob hayes 47 yrs ago ran 10.05
on a dirt(YES DIRT)track in the finals of the 64 olympic 100m. he ran a 9.91 in a preliminary heat but wind was just over legal(but again this was on DIRT). can only imagine what he would have run on these modern fast rubberized surfaces-INSANE
@kempyboi123 Of course it is, Dix ran 10.04... if you're still doubting, he runs 9.88 and he got two Bronze medals in the Olympic 100m and 200m finals in Beijing.
I like it when they show them running from these angles, because you get a real appreciation for their speed, that the usual athletics shots don't show. When he comes zooming past he looks like he's going as fast as a car or something.
@Minagoroshiniis yeah but walter dix sure does have a faster start than usain bolt, because usain is 6'5" and dix is my height 5'9".. yes bolt did burn him at the olympics but dix still took bronze there.
Bolt didn't have a 2.0 taliwind! The 100m final was nil-wind.
YO pay attention. I said -1.5 wouldnt beat Bolts 9.69. Meaning if it was run with the same conditions. Even if it was 2.0, it still would have only barely been 9.79, which although fast is still nowhere near 9.69.
Yes I run track, and Im a lot faster than you too.
Bolts 9.69 would be a low 9.5 if he had a +2.0 tailwind. But your the one who brought up a +2.0 wind. Not me.
@detroitman21 of course not, 12. 4 here, but i was quoting someone else. And the exclamation mark was showing my disapproval of their comment, because 10.04 under any conditions is phenomenal, let alone into a strong headwind..
i ran 100 yrds in 14.5 seconds, but i was only 14, and was wearing combat boots.

Hi -
I used a Canon G9 - pocket camera - to take the HD video of Walter Dix. The track is about a mile from my house.
I bought it on craigslist for $150 used a little over a year ago. Still use it - will not part with it.

iAwesomme 2 years ago
10.00 into -1.5 isn't anywhere near Bolt's 9.69 haha.. its maybe 9.9x
Julzellis 2 years ago
are you NUTS? Do you run track? The difference between running into a 1.5 headwind and having a 2.0 tailwind at your back is at LEAST like .1-.15
illman05 2 years ago
10.04 with a 1.5 headwind is nothing. Fast is Bolt running 9.77 and Asafa running 9.84 in Brussels with a 1.3 headwind. THAT is fast.
That said, I'm sad to see that he's injured now.

Does the poster of this vid mean "broke the world leading time" not the world record?
Or is there a season-adjusted record that would consider Dix's run faster than Bolt's 9.69, given the conditions?
