If you're after a 303 but don't have a fortune to spend, try the Novation Bass Station, pretty good substitute at a fraction of the price.

You get a good approximation of the sound on the bass station, which is useful, but the sequencer with accent and the slide is really one of the main things that makes the 303 the 303. Owning both is the best option in this case. hee hee.

First ever Kenton Mod on the 303, the box its sat on is the Kenton, it has a serial port that transfers power, filter, midi/sync info...we never used MIDI though, always Sync...

shuffle is done across the first 8 notes of the sequencer, so the first note is the least amount of shuffle, the eighth note is the most shuffle. the last 8 notes are for the 'flam' setting.
