Andrew, thanks for putting this vid together and posting it. Even where I am in Vermont we had no idea that the rest of the state was getting so hammered.
there was a woman stranded on the trunk of that green car in grafton for 6 hours my in laws lost thier car to the river there stayed with her went in after her a few times but couldn't reach her ...amazed she made it out alive
Allen Bros @9:33 I drove through here at 4:15 am after storm, I was diverted off of I91 south and the water was rising rapidly here also. Had a truck . Car would of never made. But it was no where this high yet!!!!
i lived just below snell road on route 10 i managed to move on saterday before flood came ...but moved to cavendish nowhere was safe the water was everywhere i am surprized there are not more deaths !!!! we watched that big chunck of road wash away in cavendish near the landslide ....my heart goes out to all
My brother and his family live in Chester VT on Snell Rd. My brother was walking down Snell Rd trying to get home during Irene. He had to leave his truck because the road was washed out to a narrow path. He heard a crack behind him and looked back to see the road he just walked down had washed away. He hustled home and is now stuck. Thank you for shedding light on Chester.
Thank you for posting this. My heart is aching to go home to Vermont, where neighbors help neighbors because that's how Vermonters have always been. We don't drive by.
I'll be there soon, and I'll share this with everyone. There's music in those hills.
but looking through all these videos and photos my heart goes out to all Vermonters and I pray for all your safety and quick recovery from Irene. Your right the media doesn't give nearly enough attention to Vermont's losses as far as I can see you all have lost far more than any other state along Irene's path. God Bless Vermont.
I am so sad to see how much destruction happened to such a beautiful state. I Love Vermont, my husband is originally from Chester and we now have a vacation place in Westminster and we can't even get up there to check on our place.
Thank you for showing this area. It is so terrible to see all of this destruction. We were stranded for Athens for awhile and just cannot believe the loss all around us.
WOW.....I used to live in Saxtons River, Putney and Westminster West and worked in Chester.....thank you for posting this video..I was wondering about those places in particular.
I used to live in Bartonsville,Vt. and to see this just tears you heart out. Its sad.
