  • This is really good, but then again I haven't really heard a band that can't play this song yet, so maybe its just easy. Cool Saxophone solo though

  • nice job snares or so i thought until it reached 1:40), tenorss not soo much ( or so i thought until it reached 1:40)

it seemed as if thtere were many tears throughout the diff sections

  • our band is like 1/12 of that

  • It SOUNDED good... but I saw wayyyyyy too many feet out of time or stepping with the right foot when it should have been left! Surprising, especially for a competition! Wow.

Also disappointed by the lack of trumpet trio. :[ aw.

  • The band was incredible, but from a critical standpoint, the trumpets could have done better.

  • @BigBadBearBoy oh you should've heard the opener for this show. the brass in this band were marathon players to play that whole show.

  • big sound.thats bad ass.

  • This would sound so much better without woodwinds, especially without that screeching piccolo at 0:40.

  • you know they're good when they play the same version of a song that a DCI band played, man I love Georgia 5A bands

  • First off, never call a DCI Corps a "band". It's just kinda disrespectful.

Second off, Florida bands beat the crap out of Georgia bands. GHS this year played Phantom 03, Sante Fe played Phantom 07, and countless others played DCI Shows. I'm not saying this band here is bad, but they wouldn't be able to compete in FMBC.

  • Your an idiot, how good you are has nothing to do with what state your from. Top 10 bands at BOA every single year are from all over the country.

  • That's because Florida and Texas bands don't compete very often in BOA. Most of the big Florida bands only compete in BOA every other year because FMBC is just as/more competitive.

Also, the proper form was "you're".

  • @Paralda dude florida bands suck as far as the drumlines go

  • @TheDragonmaster18 ummmm nty okaloosa has really really great bands and drumlines like crestview high school navarre and choctaw high school im in crestview but choctaw got #1 high school drumline in the us in their competitions and what not for indoor yeah suck on dat dumb ass =D but then again crestview aint that competitive yet so i believe we can get #1 or #2 if we tried =D. this year we are having our first indoor drumline show hell yeah!

  • This pretty cool. But no band is complete without piccolos lol

  • to mspdrummer: you've got a awfully big head. you don't need to worry about how many competitions you've won, but rather how hard your band members try. i think that rome is really really good. but don't go bragging on yourself about how long you've gone undefeated, or else you might suddenly lose, LIKE YOU DID TONIGHT AT THE FESTIVAL OF SOUND COMPETITION. GO GRISSOM HIGH SCHOOL!! (but seriously yall did really good tonight)

  • lol so this is what malaguena sounds like. Tales From Band Camp kept making references to it.

  • Aw, man... our band had a trombone solo at about :47, was hoping to hear this band do it as well.

  • Well reason being, its not supposed to be a trombone solo, it was written in as a Mellophone solo, none the less it sounds exactly the same

  • my band marched this last year. one of my favorite songs! sounded good

  • even though there wasn't a trumpet solo i still think this piece is amazingggggggg!!!!!!!

good job cus it sounds great, and i'm lovin the drum solo lol

  • aw i was expecting a killer trumpet solo!

  • this song is wack!!!!!!!! man, this version takes the melody, the original one, out and puts in some funky stuff.... my band played this my freshman year and we did played the brass based version, its was awesome cuz we had three trumpets dueling in a solo, the part where the saxes were soloin....

  • Well...after hearing that, you could say that its not the best, but its good. There shouldn't really be a saxophone playing a trumpet solo...this song is more of a brass piece of music and it didn't sound right. Though every band plays it differently and its a cool piece of music to play. I can critic because I am a marcher myself.

  • and dont give me any crap saying "oh your not in marching band, you have no right to talk crap" yea i do march, i also march WGI so dont try to pull that shit on me. i know what im talking about, dont think for a second that im just some biased cadets fan, which i am, but i can back it up. oh and one more thing every tempo is about 20 clicks slower than where the cadets played it, just proving even more that you are nowhere near as good as the cadets and have no right to use their music

  • What's your problem? Are you seriously comparing a DCI group to a high school marching band? That is pure idiocy. BTW...the Cadets don't own Malaguena, either.

  • Are you really that stupid Noonan? You can't compare a highschool marching band to a top 5 DCI drum corp. Get a life besides insulting a bunch of teenagers.

  • wow, its just like the cadets in 03!!! oh wiat, you guys sucked at it, and the cadets didnt!!! first off, you have a saxophone playing a trumpet solo. second, you tried to copy the cadets drum solos, the snare solo is the same (and sounds really shitty), the tenor solo sounds really shitty and the last part sounds like a bunch of pregnant woman giving birth. and third, actually i dont even have a thrid. and when you exhibit something as disgsuting as this it reminds me why i hate marching band.

  • Alright Noonan. I have a question for you. How many grand championships has your high school won? We won 3 that year and every section in our band was undefeated. I'm a member of that band's drumline(snare) and i just want you to know your representing what class your band must have trashing another school because their music was IDENTICAL to the cadets. Also, dont be pissed because our saxophones are good enough to play that solo. Good luck with your musical career.

  • first, i've never even heard of a grand championship, in all honesty.

second, my opinions are strictly MINE and have no relation to my band whatsoever. for all i know, the rest of my band might think this is the greatest thing they've ever heard. the only thing that bothers me (NOT MY ENTIRE BAND) is the similarity to the Cadets show.

third, yea the rant(s) was unnecessary, my bad. Cadets 03 is my favorite drum corps show and i dont like to see it messed around with.

  • well that's not your decision to make. so next time don't fucking flip out over it.

  • If only my band was this big and then played this showed

  • it is the exact same thing.. even the sax solos..= the trumpets solos

  • i agree this sound the same as the Cadets 2003 show. last my band played this and it sounded great

  • Did anyone else notice this is close to exactly like the 2003 cadets show?

    thats original. lol

  • 1:08 is brutal

  • wow i play this song in my pep band, but you guys play it really well and fast, and better. hahah good job!

  • really impressive. this is the cadet's 2003 arrangement of malaguena right?

snares need some cleaning up but for a first competition... really solid.

  • omg we play this song in band! IM IN Homewood (a national known band) high school marching band

  • Dudddeee! I'm in marching band at Parkview and I remember seeing you guys play at a comp. last year! You guys were really great.

  • umm, very good, except the drumline was dirty. and the tenors need be tuned up about half an octave.

  • are you playing?? they aren't completely basing off the cadets. how the crap do you know if the tenors aren't tuned the way they are for the show??

  • obviously have* nothing to do.

  • Wow, it's crazy to look back at videos like this. It really makes me miss marching band. I was there for that contest, Ranburne High School, yup we played Malaguena too...

  • wow what great marching technique......NOT!!! there toes are higher when they march backwards than forwards hahahhahahaha

  • wow another person hiding behind an account. what you you know about technique. let me guess...34 still live with mom?? am i right??

  • what state is this?

  • as far as tasha's post I am a old member from Cavies in 94 and marched music city mystigue in 96. You must be in guard cause you dont unterstand music on the field, yes I agree it is a bit dirty but lets see what your band came back with?

  • um

is your band completely incapable of marching and playing at the same time?

who the hell arranged this? it sounds horrible.

your formations were weak, your drum corps outshined the rest of the band, which is never good, and pretty much just overall, if you went to a national competition (as my band does all the time because we're better than you) you would probably be laughed at.

  • my god you're a d-bag.

  • ouch sasha, someone's a little full of themselves.

excuse us for not being stuck up and being happy with what we have.

our band is awesome the way it is. we don't go to nationals, but none of us are complaining. we are in this for fun and playing to the best of our ability. simply because you are extremely arrogant and cocky doesn't mean that you should go around throwing it in everyones' faces.

  • our band is good, whether you are willing to accept it or not - and we're ecstatic about the level of playing that we're currently at.

however, thank you for doing what you would consider "wasting" 3 minutes and 48 seconds of your life and watching our video. because you obviously having nothing better to do, which sounds like a personal problem to me.

  • damn what a low brass section! great band. its huge, which always helps. aww. trumpet solos became sax solos...i'm sorry saxes but definitely doesnt have the same effect.

  • Great!

  • Dude, this is an awesome high school band. This and hounds of Spring are really tough songs. I played Hounds of Spring at an Honor Band and Malaguena at West Virginia All-State band as a member of the Euphonium Section. I wish m band could do this!

  • We played this song...And..It sounds pretty good, here!

Although the colorguard sucks, this is really great!

I love how your band used up the whole feild..And the snare show-off was suh-weeeeeet! *plays percussion*

And in your other video, we played the Hounds of Spring, too! LOL
