Been playing for years, and never learned the spin techniques.... LOL, I just stopped in Jr. High cuz I was the best of our few (4 drummers), and somehow the only one who couldn't spin the damned stick on my fingers.... I'm also bad at doing card tricks so I think it has to do with my finger's coordination, which is strange cuz I play some piano too and it's not a strain.

It is difficult - you have to practice, and it will come to you eventually.

Rotate your wrist to make the stick look like it's doing what he's doing, then slowly progress into the real thing by reducing wrist movement and increasing finger movement.

I use a technique where the stick only moves around my index finger and middle finger, and I use my thumb as an accellarator - I can spin 'em so fast, it's incredible. I will try to make a video of it.

not that good... its much simpler to use the penspinning naming system. tingers 1-2-3-4 (+thumb) and slots 12,23,34... Fingerpass works also different. You explained the reverse version and made the rising wrong. it goes 12-23-34-23-12 (inside fall, outside rise).
