Thank you for posting the art songs of the Carpenters. There albums were a musical education. This work preceded the George Winston albums by a few years, I believe.
I'm a bit confused because I played both "Eventide & Aurora" and then just "Aurora." There seemed to be an extra verse in "Eventide and Aurora," which, of course, I prefer as it's a bit longer. How did that come about? Did Karen and Richard release the longer version on the "Horizon" LP or the shorter one? Just curious.
@tiner27 These are the only versions I know of. I don't know of any edited or shorter versions. Both of these versions in the videos came from the "Horizon" album/CD.
@NedNickerson2010 and @tiner27 I think I understand tiner's confusion. "Aurora" and "Eventide" were the opening and closing songs on the album; they use the same tune, but the words are different. Another youtube user has posted a "combination" of both songs, but she accidentally reversed the order, so that "Eventide" (the album's closing song) plays before "Aurora" (which opens the album).
beautiful...a masterpiece

What a voice! If this song doesn't touch you on some level, you must be a corpus (so pronounced by the great Curly Howard).
