onboard 95-98 in yoko, had a blast,I think about it and the friends I made everyday, you can not beat a small boats family, you know everyone, and everybody takes care of each other. If you are on her now, wow, lets do another G.Q.,later.
I was an SH on that ship between 1988 through 1991. The very first time I saw Mobile Bay ship (Mayport, FL) it seemed super huge that is until I saw an aircraft carrier next to it. I left while the ship was in Yokosuka. The only thing I miss was the travel and a few memorable people THATS IT
i cant remember what captain we had when i was there who got dismissed or relieved but damn he was great. We staying in barcelona for about 2 weeks then went back for another week. I think i ran out of money. I think blew when i was on that shop about 10,000 dollars on one cruise just in ports alone. and still had 15,000 dollars saved up. Only regret is i didnt get alot pictures and things on tape. Damn that was dumb. I probablby wont be able to get those pictures and moments back.
Its a great ship I was stationed there from the summer of 2000. We took the uss cowpens over to yokosuka japan and did a crew swap. I tranfered in dec of 2003.

Mobile's government is like something out of a holocaust flick, and Los Angeles is the same. They beat honest people, they inject them, they extort money, they lie in their courts, their trials are our deaths. Crap on Geli-Bolus. I served in the USN and now the ship is named the Tird That Would Not Sink. Never again trust USA government. Over run. Technology and collusion.
Rose Fest... talk about boring! :) A trip down the Columbia is always nice though. The guys spring some leeks once you had all that fresh water running through the mains? We did...lol
what is this man's navy coming too when sailors can't turn a ship on their own in that veritable ocean on their own? next they be having tugs pulling them about in the ocean but only on sunny days and the AF shooting missiles for them.
My brother is on there now xD (Brent Thurman)
