To the person who said it was a "non play." Had he not made that play, Miami would have declined the penalty. Bama lined up off sides. Miami would have set up shop in the red zone. I hate it when people call it a non play--it was critical in the course of the game.

Lamar Thomas shot his mouth off and questioned the manhood of the Tide DBs. Oh and in the actual game, he fumbled TWICE including this 'non-play.'

I mean think about it: if Teague had just made the tackle on Thomas, Miami would have declined that penalty and would have had first and goal inside the Bama 10. So the play "counted" in the sense that it saved about 70 yards.

Teague was out of position, he said later that if he hadn't caught Thomas, "there would be hell to pay" This "play that never was" broke the back of the Hurricanes. Torretta and Thomas trash talking in the week before the game made this so much sweeter. My friends and I were jumping out of our seats, it is the most talked about play, it's been on "Best Damn Sports Show Period" many many times. It never fails to amaze me every time I watch it. Thomas said' "No one on Alabama can catch me."

Thomas was yapping all week about the speed of himself, Kevin Williams and Horrace Copeland. Said no DB's could run with them. When asked about the SEC he said "not what it used to be".. Teague, Tommy Johnson and Antonio Langham were running those receivers down all game long... that is when they weren't covering them like blankets.

turnovers was the equalizer it had nothing to do with speed i beleive miami had 5 turnovers and gino toretta played horrible right after the "non play" gino threw a pick that being said miami had already beaten bama for the title in 89' so it was just pay back of some sort.

Speed was a dominant factor. You don't think George Teague running down Thomas wasn't major? Or Tommy Johnson running down Thomas not crucial? Speed and great defense.
