  • haboreh - yeah, yeah, yean, and St. Paul killed Christians and David slept with a married woman and then had her husband murdered to cover it up. George W. Bush used to be an alcoholic! No one is perfect except for Jesus, but we can all still appreciate the good things that some people do in spite of their flaws and express appreciation for them (Philippians 4:8). Don't throw the baby out with the bathwater - this film says some important and relevant things about Christianity in our time.

  • In the movie 'lordsaveusfromyourfollowers', Dan Merchant praises the actions of Nelson Mandela as a great example to all of us. Now, watch this video in which the brigand, Nelson Mandela sings about killing whites.

    watch?v=fcOXqFQw2hc

Nelson Mandela also said that murdering animal Fidel Castro was his best friend. Shame on you Merchant.

  • It's true. That's the feeling I get. Non believers don't have a problem with Jesus, but they do have a problem with Christians. Why? Because most of us don't show our better side. The church I go to is a perfect example. A lot of snobary. A lot of my co workers say they're Christian but they wouldn't even talk to another co worker because he or she is fat, or Black, or White, or Hispanic, or Asian. We're supposed to represent Jesus and a lot of us are doing a bad job.

  • I agree. People are really making religion look bad, but they kind of deserve the criticism they get because I think it encourages them to act more appropriately.

  • @louthebody non believers definitely have a problem with the jesus of scripture. otherwise they would not be "nonbelievers." jesus christ himself said that either you are with me or you are against me. there is no in between. as scripture clearly states, friendship with the world (system) is enmity with god.

true followers of christ are not followers because of other "christians," but in spite of them.

a real christian's duty is to love the sinner according to the truth, not false unity.

  • @anewdayproductions, THANK YOU SO VERY MUCH FOR YOUR COMMENTS, I COULDN'T HAVE SAID IT BETTER. I 'CAN & DO' UNDERSTAND THE 'AGAPE' FACTOR WHEN IT COMES TO THOSE WHO NEED CHRIST, BUT LATELY IT SEEMS AS IF CHRISTIANS ARE UNDER ATTACK FROM OTHERS WHO SAY THEY ARE CHRISTIAN AS WELL. IF NONE OF THIS IS DONE BY GOD/JESUS' STANDARDS VIA THE WORD, WHAT GOOD WILL IT DO ANY OF US IN THE END? SINNERS & SADLY SOME CHRISTIANS DON'T ALWAYS WANT TO HEAR THE TRUTH BUT CHRIST SAID TO TELL IT ANYWAY. THANKS.

  • @anewdayproductions

If true followers are not believers as the result of other Christians, then what is the point of ministry? Are followers who are carrying the word just wasting their time? Did they just luck out and find favor?

Or could it be possible that some Christians aren't doing everything they could be doing to win souls? If non-believers can't see the love of Christ working through his followers, where are they supposed to see it?

  • @ProudAnselmo first, it's important to make a distinction between those who FALL into sin yet REPENT and those who UNREPENTANTLY practice it. there's a myriad of sins that are not always easily identified or on the surface for man to see, but are still very serious. consider the hypocritical fools who actually got christ crucified. they were very "religious," on the surface, but christ himself told them to their faces that they were like old dried up bones inside. they were totally corrupt.

  • @ProudAnselmo so a great majority of people who fancy themselves as "christians" are anything but. christ clearly taught this in his ministry. one really poignant illustration is matthew 7:13, the narrow gate and the broad path. john macarthur does an excellent series on this. a real follower of christ is focused on TRUTH, not some idea of christian fellowship and love, peace and good happiness stuff. that isn't christianity at all. those who do not love the truth cannot truly know christ.

  • @ProudAnselmo all the peripheral stuff such as love, faith, peace, etc... are valid things and important, but not as much as the whole point, the truth. what good is anything if it is not rooted in reality? that's why i say not because of other christians, but in spite of them. we all are sinners and fall short and cannot be relied on SOLELY to be a completely faithful ambassador for christ. what we can be though is honest and diligent and that is what the TRUE seeker sees and respects.

  • @anewdayproductions

None of that really answered my question, though. Where is the non-believer to find salvation if not through the love of Christ shown through his followers?

How is the non-believer to be convinced of God's love if it's not demonstrated by those that claim him?

What do you mean by "TRUE seeker"? How do you know what they see and respect? Are people who do not meet your definition of "true seeker" less worthy of salvation? Who is qualified to decide which is which?

  • Love faith and peace are peripheral?

    1 John 4

God is love; and he that dwelleth in love dwelleth in God, and God in him

If a man say, I love God, and hateth his brother, he is a liar: for he that loveth not his brother whom he hath seen, how can he love God whom he hath not seen?

    Luke 18

And Jesus said unto him, Receive thy sight: thy faith hath saved thee

    Acts 10

You know the message God sent to the people of Israel, telling the good news of peace through Jesus Christ, who is Lord of all

  • @ProudAnselmo what is your motivation in talking to me? are you just wanting to argue? you know as well as i do that the very existence of love, faith and peace depends on the righteousness, justice and truth of god. without it all is in vain. and quoting a few bible verses devoid of context does not change a thing. why did christ have to die on the cross? why didn't god just say "all is forgiven and come on in" instead of christ on the cross? you know the answer to this. now go away.

  • I asked you a question based on your comment. I was hoping you would be able to answer it. That's all.

I didn't quote out of context. I provided book and chapter. You can easily see the context. It's okay to admit you were mistaken if that's the case. None of us are perfect. It's just that the things you say are peripheral are, to me, clearly central to God's word.

  • 1 Corinthians 13

If I speak in the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I am a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal. 2And if I have(A) prophetic powers, and understand all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have all faith,(B) so as to remove mountains, but have not love, I am nothing. 3(C) If I give away all I have, and(D) if I deliver up my body to be burned,[a] but have not love, I gain nothing.

  • There's nothing wrong with a discussion that strengthens one's understanding. It was good enough for Jesus:

    Acts 17

So he reasoned in the synagogue with the Jews and the devout persons, and in the marketplace every day with those who happened to be there.

    1 Peter 3

But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear:

    Isaiah 1

Come now, let us reason together, says the LORD

  • @louthebody, WHAT ABOUT THOSE WHO DO 'SHOW A BETTER SIDE' AND ARE TOLD TO QUOTE "KEEP OUR GOD & JESUS TO OURSELVES"?? THE BIBLE NEVER SAID WE WERE GOING TO BE 'POPULAR' FOR TELLING THE 'TRUTH' BUT FOR US TO DO IT ANYWAY. I UNDERSTAND WHY THIS MAN IS COMING FROM, BUT 'CONSTANTLY LABELING' ALL CHRISTIANS UNDER THESE UMBRELLAS IS DANGEROUS TOO. IF YOUR COWORKERS WHO SAY THEY'RE CHRISTIANS DON'T WITNES THAT'S ON THEM AND THEY'LL ANSWER TO GOD FOR IT, BUT IT'S TIME TO STOP THE LABELING.
