Gli F22 non sono aerei perfetti, anzi il progetto dell'F22 è stato non solo costosissimo ma è stato anche un fiasco... Tanto è vero che gli F22 sono stati impiegati pochissime volte (in Iraq e d'intorni non sono stati ancora adoperati) per la costosa manutenzione. Il progetto degli F22 è stato interrotto e non ne stanno costruendo più, gli USA hanno deciso di ripiegare sull'F35 contando sull'aiuto economico di altri stati in particolare l'europa (Italia in pole).

L'Aeronautica militare puo' contare su 85 Eurofighter poi ci sono anche circa 80 Tornado, F16, AMX ecc, tra l'altro alcune fonti dicono che quest'anno verrà dato il primo dei 130 F35 lightning II stelth e la consegna di tutti i cacciabombardieri di tipo A e B sarà completata entro il 2014 in collaborazione con alenia.

the problem is not that we cannot develep , because we can develop aircraft, but we don't need to develop an our own aircraft to higher level , this cause we not have (like other nations) declared enemy or declared rivals ... we live in peace with everybody, you can build a lot of type of aircraft but are only an upgraded photocopy of the obsolete previous or starting from zero and build 1 maximum 3 types of efficient , technologically advanced aircraft.

Most of the f16`s adversaries were 3rd generation get fighters or ground strike fighters like Su22 or Su25. the only true fighter the F16 encountred was the updated Mig23 used by the soviets. During the afgghanistan war 3rd gen. Mig23 performed as well as pakistani F16s, if not better. they shoted down 1 F16 without losses and later 2 F16 later losing 2 planes in an 4 vs 4 fight.

in the gulf war the F16 didn`t manage to do even a single AA kill. All enemies were destroyed by F15s.

About the PAK FA. Yes there will be an export version. but that would come very late. An russian official told that the PAK FA would have been introduced in the market at least 10 years after its introduction.

PAK FA have better air superiority charateristics than the F35 and have will have similar, if not better performance than the F22. and that is not sooner than 2020.Maybe at that time F22 will be available for export too.
