  • Most experienced and level headed drivers know the roads are not just for cars. What you angry dudes need to know is even if you think you are in the right: for example doing 60mph round a blind bend; if you hit a walker, cyclist or horse you will be prosecuted for dangerous/careless driving and any resulting prosecution will seriously mess up the rest of your life (never mind the guilt which WILL set in once you mature and become less ignorant).

  • @jazzerd So if every cyclist also uses a gas guzzler like yours, then the whole thing makes sense. Now I understand.

  • @conkeroonee Yes, now you get it. Lol

  • This is my favourite cycling video of all time.

  • Comment removed

  • you shouldnt have enterd the box junction so there another mistake ass hole

  • This is a great video!! The same thing happened to me, but i was driving. A guy on a motorbike about 2 cars behind be came out, sort of like you did, but at 30kph over the speed limit. I indicated, and luckily i just saw him out the corner of my eye but i sure gave him a fright! Served him right too going that fast

  • Why so many dislikes? This could help someone else from making the same mistake. I commend you for admiring your fault. Most people wouldn't dare of doing such a thing, considering that many have been condition into being "perfect".

  • I knocked a cyclist down a few years ago. He admitted it was his mistake and he staggered away with his blood covered leg and knackered bicycle.

  • why should cyclist pay to be on the road??? im not one but they have two wheels and no engine??? car capable off at least 60 mph bike what 10 average???

  • great educational video. :)

  • Im joking!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    @stevefm

    IM JOKING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Read my title and look at my clips

You think I even have a car like along get out to have a fag or a swig spiriits on route to pub and knock cyclists off

  • while u r doing all this dangerous overtaking what would happen if some poor overtaxed car driver needed to get outof his car for a fag or wee dram from his hip flask on route to pub. You would damage his car daws. CYCLIST SHOULD PAY TAX AND INSURANCE

  • Poor and dangerous cycling. You also ride illegally

  • @kentcyclist Illegally? how?

  • @TheCadetForce

Dangerous cycling. U R not obeying rules of road. If U did this in car u would b banned

  • @kentcyclist What rule of the Highway Code is breeched here? You simply can't filter between cars in a car and you can't be banned for impossible manouveres.

Overtaking a car that is slowing in traffic and or changing lane is perfexctly legal - infact that is exactly what this car infront of the cyclist is doing.

  • @stevefm

Dangerous riding. A custodial sentance is required here

  • @kentcyclist That's laughable kentcyclist. There is no such offence as 'dangerous riding'. Even if there were he is not riding dangerously. He is riding exactly as he has to to keep up with traffic and progress along this conjested road. He is not using the road differently to drivers around him and is not causing an obstruction therfeore he is totally and completely within the rules of the Highway Code. He is filtering safely and the car he almost glances is at fault not him.

  • why do cyclist insist on riding in the middle of lanes, every video i see of a cyclist getting into a conflict is because they are in the middle of the lane when there is 4feet of space to the side of them that they can safely ride without blocking motorist. Kind of inconsiderate isn't it?

  • @redkingrd Simply because if you position yourself in the middle of the lane you are far far less likely to be missed in the visual check of a motorist. As a driver when you look down a road you look to the middle of the lane and filter out objects to the side. You must have noticed this yourself, have you never missed seeing a cylist stuck against the gutter coming towards you at a junction? It's 110% a safety issue and nothing whatsoever to do with riding inconsiderately.

  • You shouldn't enter a box junction unless your exit is clear 0:50

  • f#$%%k cyclist they dont pay so they should be able to use the roads

  • @trojan611one They are allowed to use the roads.

  • your video sucks

  • @1990daleb Aww boohoo, as if he cares.

  • What I don't understand is... how come it wasn't raining? It always rains in Anniesland

  • My bike has been in the shed, unused, for over two years now, Glasow's getting way too dangerous to cycle so I do empathise with you; Anniesland Juncion in particular, bikes are car fodder.

However considering culpability and causality, had you not entered the box junction @ 0.52 without an exit lane being free none of what followed would have occurred. (Rule #174 Higway code)

  • lol what is this?

  • mmm typical which part of NOT stopping on a box junction did you not understand? If there are three lanes of traffic why do YOU think you can make four ??

  • Well... there's almost two minutes of my life that I'm never gonna get back :| what a pointless, crappy, crock of $h!t clip

  • humble pie

  • False modesty... makes me cringe! Like fingernails down a blackboard, major nausea.

  • thats 1:34 of my life wasted

  • @mryug123 oh, tell me what (worthy thing) you could have done in that time ? you just lost more seconds reading this btw...

  • cycle riders should pay to be on the road.

  • @conkeroonee I'd be interested to know why....

  • @magnatom Because you use it and wear it and take up space on it like any motorised vehicle!

  • @Steeshuk Derp, shows someone doesn't know why people have to pay for their vehicles to be on the road, might be due to the fact it has an engine pumping out gasses...

  • @magnatom I'd be interested to know why you don't think we should? I'm not saying tax as they would be under the threshold anyway but insurance and some kind of mot/safety test? How about some kind of training? You need all those things to ride a moped but as a cyclist we need none of them - and we can go faster. I think the time will come shortly where numberplates will be on us if some keep riding like morons. Look at some of the vids on here for proof.

  • @magnatom

Because they can be more assholes that a BMW owner. They take as much space as a motorcycle, so why aren't they paying?

  • @magnatom As the roads get more congested a registration plate and insurance for bikes is becoming a must.

  • @MrVultcher Why?

  • @magnatom because only road tax is calculated based on emissions. were a person to cycle into the side of my car (let's assume for argument's sake it was 100% their fault) and damage it, unless i can find them and sue for damages, i would have to either pay for it myself or claim on my insurance and increase my premiums.

were they to cycle into a pedestrian and seriously injure or even kill them (yes of course it is possible) then the consequences go far beyond one's insurance excess.

  • @magnatom cyclist should be insured for personal injury and small claims like to repair dents to cars, Because if a cyclist is at fault and damages a vehicle or causes injury's to a pedestrian as a lot of them like to jump red lights, Why should the driver have to pay? or that person miss out on wages if it wasn't there fault?

  • @magnatom you shouldn't be on the road

  • @magnatom So they can be held legally and financially responsible for their actions.

  • @samyan1977 Would this mean cyclists have a right to their part of the road then?

If it means i get to cycle in the middle of the lane safely like a car and not be squeezed at the side then yipee i'm all for it.

That'll slow drivers behind to our pace and the roads will be a much safer speed.

    Great idea mate.

  • @rainbowinthedark73 Cyclists already have lots of areas of their own in towns and cities, they're called 'Cycle Lanes' . Where I live we have people riding two-a-breast fairly often anyway taking up a whole lane and slowing down the traffic and you lot wonder why you get grief. You want to use the road as you like but when it comes to paying your way you're not interested.

And as for your pathetic attempt at sarcasm at the end of your comment, well, it's pathetic!

  • @samyan1977 What's pathetic is your confused idea and whinging that you pay for the road. There is NO road tax fool. WE ALL pay for the roads through council and income tax plus most of us drive.

We have very few cycles lanes here, two-a-breast is perfectly legal.

Seems you dont really know what your'e on about eh.

Do some research greedy road 'owner' and come back with something valid rather than your sore arsed i've got to pay crap lol.

  • @rainbowinthedark73 You're a complete moron! You say "most of us drive" presumably this a reference to you paying road tax? The same road tax you say doesn't exist, dick head.

You want to get your facts straight, I didn't say it was illegal. Two-a-breast may be legal but it's not very considerate to other road users so I don't do it when I go cycling with my mates. You have a bad attitude and a chip on your shoulder thinking the world is against you.

  • @samyan1977 Not true. I simply respond that way when called pathetic for posting a reply.

    It wasn't offensive.

We all pay so lighten up man.

  • @MrVultcher ha ha ha how would you fit a number plate onto a bike. And what damage can a cycle do that would warrent insurance? It wil be pedestrains who can't cross a road without a number plate and insurance after that will it? They are also road users and actually cause more accidents than cyclists. ie get themselves killed crossing the road.

  • @MrVultcher Definately.

  • @magnatom because cyclist are a pain in the ass

  • @magnatom because you cause traffic jams and because your all cunts but its mainly the traffic jams.

  • @prothechris LOL! I cause traffic jams!?! Brilliant. :-)

Search for this video (To Those Who Hate Cyclists Filtering). Am I the cause of the traffic jam?

  • @conkeroonee

I do. £215 a year for the car which rarely gets used because my 6 mile commute is quicker, healthier, cheaper, less congesting, lest polluting, quieter, more sociable and less stressful. Argue against that?

  • @269oeo9 Is it £215 for insurance or road tax? My car costs £20 a year to tax and I think it's less polluting than I am .

  • @conkeroonee You don't understand that there is no road tax, do you? Even though you don't pay one. Cyclists pay for the road the same way that people who take the bus do. Even people who stay at home pay for the roads. Registration and insurance fees do not pay for roads or their maintenance. Taxes do, which everyone pays.

  • @conkeroonee as you should pay to say such things

  • @conkeroonee they do...

  • @conkeroonee fuck you , son of a bitch!

    PAY FOR WHAT?

  • @conkeroonee Pedestrians should pay to walk on the pavements, thats how stupid you sound.

  • @hoffbrand Unlike cyclists, pedestrians aren't on the road causing trouble whilst cars are trying to drive through town safely though are they?

  • @ksbnr1 causing trouble! hahahahah like cars don't!! and they don't pay to be on the roads!!

  • @conkeroonee

I agree. They are also unsafe and shouldnt be there. The get in the way of my car

  • @conkeroonee you dont pay to be on the road you pay for your emmissions

  • @conkeroonee

I agree. They slow up traffic and get in way. Then their dumb riding makes them get knoced off and tax payers have to foot bill for ambulance. Most are dole scroungers. They should pay tax insurance and for thei stupid cycle trains. Blloomin pansies. I agree with jeremy clarkeson

  • @conkeroonee You tabloid reading twat.

  • @conkeroonee I pay £460/year road tax and the duty on 25mpg. How much do you pay?

  • @jazzerd I pay £20/year road tax and the duty on 53mpg. What's your point?

  • @conkeroonee My point? If £20 gives you the right to have an opinion on the road then in comparison I must own the road?. Kindly move your spluttering little miserybox outta the way of my cycle.

  • I don't see the point in this video...

  • @UKFeen It shows that I make mistakes and admit them. I must admit, I'm not sure why it is so popular.

  • @magnatom its popular because ppl thought it was gonna be a crash

  • @magnatom

and why does the rider go between cars, is a tiny lane between them two invisible to the rest?

  • @UKFeen neither do I... nothing unusual , wtf...

  • @UKFeen It's pretty clearly a warning about overtaking in stop-start traffic. You need to anticipate the unexpected lane change of this type when you have the ability to filter between cars.

  • i can't believe you've taken time to post such a trivial event

  • Another lightsaber for the like/dislike bar...!

  • hahahaha. i love how everybody thinks your on a motorbike. tbh honest. he didnt signal till you were nearly overtaking him. i dont know how cycling works though.

  • The fact that he entered the box junction when his exit road was not clear is wrong in this situation.

  • ....mayb u should get a the bus....

  • He's on a cycle.

  • Why not just wait in the queue like everyone else instead off under and over taking people!

  • @midfielderlegend ..He's on a motorcycle. Filtering is perfectly legal here and is one of the primary advantages of a motorcycle. If he were to stay in the queue and act like a car he would also be contributing to the traffic.

  • @ReedtheLines I agree - imagine if every motorcycle/scooter in town (regardless of where in the world you live) was to line up nose to tail with appropriate gaps bdetween each other...the cars would never move! And then of course if we all took up a dedicated parking space (as we are generally entitled to do through payment or registration for bikes in most countries) instead of doing what so many of us do and park two or sometimnes 3 bikes into a single car park space.

  • I wonder if there is any rules for motor circle cos they always seem to be on the wrong lane.

  • At least you admit you made a mistake. some people never admit their mistakes, always blaming somebody else for it.

  • meet you one day on the road, yup splattered hopefully,

  • well, nice job and clip-good too see right bikers, cyclist and drivers in one place. It will be pleasure, meet you one day on the road.Best regards

  • wow, nice to see people not change lanes without checking. I ride, my motorcycle, in the tire lines of other vehicles here in the states, and its on the side where the traffic is more threatening or frequent. i do that because every time im behind someone in my 4 wheeled auto, i see their dumb head in their misaligned side mirrors. people here in the states love their blind spots.

  • @minnsminns - The "stupid" videos that you bother to click on to/watch...?

  • A lot of people blame cyclists because they "don't belong on the road". I think they should stay off the road if they are going to be absolute morons. In fact, I've seen really good cyclists on the road and bad ones. I had one decide to cross two lanes without looking, and did a nice slide across my hood. 3 days later, I had another one almost slide under my tires when he cut me off without looking at all. He was unhurt because I saw him. PAY ATTENTION CYCLISTS.

  • Do you even have a job? Or do you just cycle around 24/7 and make these stupid videos?

  • @minnsminns - unlike you, magnatom has a job.

  • and its no wonder bikers are more likely to die on the roads

  • another selfish prick! look what you are doing first cunt!

  • your driving like a tit,

  • what??? a cyclist did something wrong????? repeat after me....filtering is legal....filtering is legal....filtering is legal..........remeber to keep repeating this during your six month stay in hospital...which is coming if you keep riding as selfishly as you do

  • Man you are a shitty driver and this is a boring video please get run over.

  • and the point of posting this waste of time was.....

  • @anyone4t this is probably the only video he's ever posted where he's admitted being in the wrong, even though he is in the wrong in most of his vids...

  • @DJSyKoh Google 'Magnatom Crash bang Wallop'

  • @magnatom ummm..no

  • @DJSyKoh You should do. Not only do I list my mistakes I think you'd find it amusing as you see me getting hurt! :-)

  • @tysonfor1 see thats the thing, you wouldnt knock the next biker you see off the road unless you are completely retarded and wanna go to prison, and i understand motorcyclists are a pretty big threat to themselves since cars are like 5x more lethal but seriously man, chill.

  • This was not worth posting on YouTube

Riding a push bike is hardly rocket science

  • @tjbayliss You're right it's not rocket science. It's really easy, almost free, & usually quicker than driving in towns. I save myself a couple of grand a year, & about two hours a week not stuck in traffic. I can park pretty much anywhere for free. Driving is hard.

  • learn from your mistake fucknut.

  • wow good to see you in a calm mood for once, must of "got some" that morning eh. and can i surgest lowering the hight of your bike light to a more dipped position from the "full beam" position it is in now as it could dassle on coming cars and they could hit you

  • Yellow box means no entry until your exit is clear.... tut tut.

  • if you are worried about how visable you are on the road drive a car, or better yet a monster truck!

  • stay in lane not in the middle of the road

  • you should keep cycling your bike, cycle it all the way to the beach then carry on into the sea

  • Two flashes doesn't count as an indication. the driver started his manover at the same time as signaling. Mirror, signal, mirror, mirror, manover, mirror. Lucky you were awake chap. I'd say that was a near miss.

  • THAT WAS....... NOTHING!

  • I'm glad the driver indicated & looked out for you. Most would just pull out.

  • 0:47 what is that car?

  • @sheepborg it is a smart car one of them "environmentally friendly" cars that they tried to make look like a sports car lol not sure if it's a smart fortwo or not

  • @sheepborg That is a Smart Roadster.

  • @Skable001 Thanks.. never would have guessed that. Actually looks pretty cool... unlike the other smart cars

  • Uhm...

What's the point of this video? O_o??

  • buy a car

  • @parnol and how much money do you spend on running that car. filling it with fuel. maintanence. M.O.T insurance etc? who out of you and him could run a race and not be panting for air at the end of it after a few months in/on your prefered vehicle?

  • so you like biking around pretending you have a car :o?

  • Is that even legal to ride a bike in the midle lane like that?

  • it pays to keep your fingers on your brakes ALL the time.

  • 1:09 yeah that was a bad cut off. I am glad my town has put bike lanes in on most of our roads. Makes it better for cars and bikes.

  • Box Junction as well.

  • whats the rules on box junctions ?

  • legal or not splitting lanes is gonna piss people off and soner or later get you in a accident!

  • biker dude, this was clearly your mistake, and you're lucky you didn't get hit.

I guess that driver wasn't so distracted after all.

  • Let me guess you are one of those bicycle assholes that wears your fruity little outfits and your annoying hand signals and expects all traffic to move out of your way. Too bad he didn't run you over, fucking pikey.

ps comment approval is for wankers.

  • Let me guess you are one of those bicycle assholes that wears your fruity little outfits and your annoying hand signals and expects all traffic to move out of your way. Too bad he didn't run you over, fucking pikey.

  • Shame the car stopped

  • Entering a box junction when your exit isn't clear, your such a great rider.....NOT!!!!!!!

Get a life you sad little man!!

  • The cars not allowed to change lane there, You have done nothing wrong.

  • Mate, I like how you post your mistakes as well as driver mistakes (and ignorant drivers). Very cool.

  • WHat did you do wrong, I did not get it..

  • @ripousse Because he was paying attention to the driver in the car, he realized the driver was distracted which meant taking a position more easily seen to him.

  • you cyclists risk your lives everytime you go out on the roads these days thats why my bikes gathering dust in my bedroom, too many nutters on the roads for my liking. take care out there.

  • @Trainbuff2008

Part of me agrees with what your saying. I'm scared for the lives of my children. Gone are the days that kids can clear off on a day long bike ride into the distance like I used to.....

BUT, another part of me says that we should ALL get out more & more and try to claim back some respect back on those roads. If there's more bike riders, then EVERYONE else will have to change the way they ride/drive.

  • Thank you for at least you considered the other car.

Where I live all the cyclists are so ignorant...

  • mate not only u fkd up, you also stoped in a keep clear zone.... please follow the rules.

  • @2ADMYRE as almost all cars do... doesnt make it wrong but a bicycle hardly obstructs the junction like a bus does

  • @2ADMYRE bitta nit picking thereman. He was stopped in the yellow box for like a second, besides on a bike its not all bad cos if the traffic where to stop (so you "cant" get out of the box) then you can just nip between cars on a bike.

Also if that car did hit the rider, then by law it would be the cars fault for pulling out on him, but in the interest of not falling off your bike then he shoulda been further out, as he knows.

  • @2ADMYRE yah, he could have killed somebody....lol

  • @2ADMYRE Never actually stopped if you look carefully.

  • @2ADMYRE He was in that box junction for less than two seconds. I don't call that waiting in a clear zone.

  • thats anniesland cross right

  • Yes

  • Lane splitting...tsk tsk.

  • ... where are you from? In the UK you can _fail_ your motorbike exam if you *don't* filter between traffic (assuming it's safe to do so).

There's nothing wrong with it at all. I hear it's illegal in some countries though, but then... they drive on the right. You can't pick and choose which countries' laws to obey ;-)

  • Wrong, you cannot fail for not filtering. It is only taught in london and big cities and is not part of the test.

  • Fair enough. Thanks for the correction!

  • Bzzzz. Wrong! :D

This is pretty much how you're meant to ride, apart from maybe being even further out to improve visibility to cars you're passing.

It's in the government's manual, you know :)

  • I seem to remember that you have to indicate for 3 seconds before it' can be regarded as a signal. Going along with janm399, you still have to be more than in the right. You do well to see this as a learning oportunity as should we all.

  • old comment I know but,

I don't think it says anywhere you have to signal for 3 seconds for it to count.

  • I wouldn't say that was your fault, either. Still, being right is not much of a consolation when you end up getting hurt. So, if you pulled out a bit earlier, you may have avoided the potentially dangerous situation.

  • I wouldn't say that's your fault. He should of checked before pulling out. Maybe being further out would of been better, but not your mistake really.

  • He did atleast indicate before he moved which was cool. I've gone to do this a few times and then realised they're pulling out, touble is here they dont often indicate which is a nightmare...

..leads to me sticking in the queue for safety.
