starcraft is more macro-y, whereas you make large armies and create a big enconomy-some units have spells, which if you are new, are somewhat hard to control

overall, both are good, i suggest trying each and seeing which you like better

Fuck off with the C&C fan bashing. Back in the day C&C was a good game. So was Red Alert. Then came all the crappy sequels. Ruined the series... No real C&C fan with half a brain would waste their time bashing Starcraft. Starcraft owns. You can like both games, each of them were different takes on the RTS genre of the time. Total Annihilation was another such example. Each game had its memorable traits. Now Tiberium Twlight - there is no excuse for liking that pile of horseshit.

Same with RA3 IMHO, but RA2 was still good(though I still prefer Starcraft and think RA1 was slightly better than RA2 but that's mostly nostalgia)

I love C&C. To say SC is boring though, is not true. SC gameplay is thoughtful, balanced and intense. C&C doesn't have these things. I'm not playing favorites; just stating the facts. Take a veteran SC player and put him in C&C, I promise you he'll figure it out faster that if it were the other way. However, I love to play C&C but frankly, there's just way more strategy behind SC. C&C you can win with just numbers. In SC, you cant too but if someone's smart it's not going to just happen.

@Withless92 ok, starcraft is great but C&C has three different fields of games- Generals, Red Alert, and Tiberium wars. I dont under stand how C&C is easier, ya you mine only one kind of resource but to unlock other, more advanced units you do the same thing you do in Starcraft, you build that certain building. Tiberium wars has also been around longer than Starcraft by a couple years.

@MrScweble C&C in fact has 8 games in the franchise with 10 expansions, combined it sold 30 million worldwide, the first starcraft game alone sold 11 million copies worldwide, plus some units in starcraft mutate into others, such as hydralisk and even seige tanks (albeit temporary) plus there is a limit to how many things you can build, as well as three unique races, no two units share majority similar stats, also, tactics remain completely differant with all three races.
