I'd say that is an excellent and effectively condensed analysis. With self-defense tools (and even unarmed self-defense) there are many things to consider. Legality can be tricky and in the end there is also potentially a less informed, disagreeing police officer to (politely) deal with.
I think citizens should in general be granted personal responsibility and allowed to carry any arms for protecting themselves and others. Until then, we have to be content with and utilize what is available.
Allways three battles to be faught whenever an actual self defense situation arises:
Physical in the streets // legal in the courtrooms and psychological when dealing with post traumatic stress syndrome (which will haunt anyone who experienced sudden violence)
So do as the special forces do and prepare yourself for every battle that can come along - so as to understand theses things well enough to avoid them.
Martial art is a formidable hobby, but war is terrible.
good video. but i would keep my weapon from being seen and i would make mine made of a heavy strong kind of wood something like an arnese stick but shorter so i can bring it around
Well generally I agree, a weapon should be difficult to see for outsiders. It is however often a compromise between hiding the weapon and fast deployment. The better you hide it, the more difficult to deploy it swiftly in an emergency.
Personally I tend towards sticks as well, but there are places where I simply cannot go with my sticks. If I showed up in the office with sticks tucked in my rucksack ready to deploy my colleagues would think I went cuckoo.
