  • This is very cool! When a friend of mine told me about your motorcycle under the plane, I thought it would be some awful little scooter with a 50cc two stroke. I am very impressed that it is a full size, full power, street legal bike. Well done! Best of luck on your STC for the Cirrus and other aircraft, I know that is a tough and expensive process, but it looks like you have the engineering well in hand.

  • fake! on 1:08 the front wheel is already mounted :D

  • We mixed in some close-up shots so you can see how everything works. The purpose of the clip at 1:08 was to demonstrate the folding handlebars in greater details. We're not professional video producers so you might find some trivial inconsistancies with the editing.

  • Nice job. Cool product. See it wasn't that hard to say something nice on the Internet! :)

  • i take on board what you are saying but strapping a motorcycle underneath an aeroplane of that size and weight must change handling and stall characteristics of the aircraft measures should be taken for safety in aviation is paramount and if the aircraft was meant to have it why was it not designed that way in the first place . i must add i am not saying the product is not inovative i am giving an opinion on weight as i stated does change stall in turns and speed,

  • We share your safety concerns and design our pods to FAR 23; the same standard as the airframe.

FAA certified belly pods of similar size, shape and weight are readily available for Super Cubs, Cessna 180, 206 and other airplanes. While ours accomodates a motorcycle, the effects are identical to 220pounds of luggage.

On the RV-10, we measured a 5.4% decrease in 70% throttle cruise. There was no measureable effect on stall speed and most pilots were unable to note any change in handling.

  • have you ever thought weight and balance and it was not designed aerodynamically for this purpose like stall speed for one example its crazy also fuel and what weight is the bike how many passengers can u carry with bike strapped on

  • These are professionally engineered and tested with safety in mind.

    1) CG checked in the normal manner (WxA=M). Loading charts are provided in the user manual.

    2) Stall speed is a function of weight. Doesn't matter if it's inside or underneath the airplane.

    3) Redundant fuel safety measures. Non-spill plumbing, backup catch-can, drainage grommets, etc.

    4) RV-10 easily hauls 2 adults, motorcycle and pod (270 lb), full fuel and 100 pounds luggage. Removes in 30 seconds to carry more people.

  • yes stall speed is a function of weight i am well aware of this. not really arguing that and as you no any weight aft is bad let say in a spin with this are you saying this would not make a differance come on!

  • not quite james bond status...

  • there's some mismatched editing...

  • Sorry, the close-up shots were filmed separately (we only had one camera) and don't match up perfectly.

  • Is that my daughter, Leia? Nice video

  • Alright, now that is cool! I'd take it west and then explore the coast by bike...Great idea!

  • Wow! That's awesome! Sure beats calling a cab or getting a rental in the middle of nowhere!
