Heey guys, im 14 turning 15 in a month.. im about 5 11"-6ft, and about 85kj and i currently ride a 2007 yz250f, i have never raced in a race in my life and im wanting to do mx next year... should i step down to a yz125 or a ktm150sx or just stay on the 250f???
im 12, 60inch tall, and weigh 80lbs, and my cruch is 85cm from the ground... just for seat height. im looking to get a 250cc thumpstar, ive ridin before and why i ask im about to start growing real fast, so yes, no? ignore the other one!
@SeIzmIc12 do not get a thumpstar they are nothing but problems, trust me i have two and they are the biggerst mistakes i have made in my life, DO NOT GET ONE... just buy a brand name bike and you will be so happy when it doesn't brake...
@BbXh0BbIes So is an Atomik link 250cc ok. im not looking at racing and huge jumps and have a real tight budget, i want a bit of power to. people are telling me if i take care of it, it'll be just fine.?????/
@SeIzmIc12 it's your choice but seriously you will end up paying the same amount in repairs as you did for the bike like me but if you are going to get a 250cc china bike go for and sdb 250 just look them up on ebay
@SeIzmIc12 well, you should go for a second hand 85cc two stroke but for 1,500 bucks you will be looking at some thing in the years of 2000 - 2005 but they will still hammer and would flog a 250cc china bike, i suggest just saving for a couple more months and you will not regret buying a brand name bike like suzuki, yamaha, kawasaki, honda, husqvarna but yeah DO NOT BUY A CHINESE MOTORBIKE!!!!....
I'm 44 5'9 ~160lb. New to dirt biking, been riding road bikes for years. I got a WR 450 3yrs ago. it's great in the woods and on steep single track, but I have a time with it on the track. It just feels big. tons of power, but I really can't take advantage of it. Is this 150 too small?
I want something light that I can have fun on. I'm not gonna race, but my 10 yr old prefers the track over the woods - so we go to the track.
I want to get rid of my road bike and get a light MX bike.
@kep67 there is no "big" or "small" on the full size MX bikes. all the seat heights are within an inch of each other across the board. this bike makes 43HP so itll sling 160pounds around the track just fine, plus it weigh about a full 20lbs less than a WR450
i wanna get a new bike next year i dont know if i should get a 125 150 or 250 2 stroke i would rather get a 250 so i dont have to up grade in a few years time as i will proberbly get a brand new bike but i dont wanna scare the livin shit out of my self when i ride it for the first time i have been ridin a yz 85LW but gett a bit big 4 it now i am 175 cm tall and weigh just under 80 kg please everyone!!! give me ur apinion on this as i have no idea
@shick1337 thanks for your apinion well yeah my brother inlaw has 1 and i ride it around a bit i really wanna get a 250 but my other brother matt thinks i wouldnt be able to handle it
@TeoZMuff313 i also have a 2009 crf250r but i have the hardest time to start it and its heavy! Im only 5'5'' and weigh 110 but i dont know if i should sell it and get a 2010 ktm 150sx. I usually actually am more scared of jumping on a 4 stroke then on a 2 stroke because of the weight. Also in turns i feel the front end on the 4 stroke wants to dive in more. So far ive only had bad luck with 4 strokes. I used to ride a 2005 yz125 but what do you think should i stay with the 250 or go with the 150
@Lizzylump Thats a hard question, KTM 150 sx 2010 is a brilliant bike light and very snappy, but i don,t know about a 4 stroke ive never ridden one so im not sure. Try heading into a KTM dealer and sitting on one of there bikes and get the feel for it. 2 stroke and 4 stroke feel alot more different so i cant really tell you.
ive had a honda 70cc i got when i was 6 (rode the hell out of it and wrecked it over 100 times and not even a sticker is scratched on it. ive had a kawasaki klx 125 since i was 12 and (its been faithfull it just dosent have that handling of my honda but it loves those jumps*also ive wrecked about 3 times and have a treadmark in the right side plate sticker and it got a bubble in it and after deflation left tiny air pokets) ive had a ktm sinse i turned 14 and it just dosent seem to pack tht pnch
@Xr3297 If you can sit on the bike comfortably and pick it up, it is. But I doubt you can. With a 38inch seat hieght I dunno how you'd do. Maybe if you ate a little bit of food and grew 2 inchs you could ride this bike with confidence of comfortability.
the way these engines are made are amazing they put out at least 13 more hp than their competitors incredible machines. this thing puts out as much hp out the back wheel than my 1999 rmx 250 2T. want one of these so bad and their like 10-15 kilos lighter than myne
i had an 09 150r and now have a 144sx, there is no comparison, the 144 is even more competitive than my dads 250sxf because its lighter and has the the same horsepower
The CRF150rb and The CRF150r are the exact same speed the RB just feels slower as it was heavier. The Ktm 150 are two-stroke so they are as powerful as a two fifty. Hope it helps ....
im around 5'2-3 and ive been looking at a yz but im afriad it'll be too big will i fit on fit on this (descently) and have it last for a pretty long time?? PLLEEAASSEEE ANSWEERR!!!!
well, i used to have a cr125 and im 5'8 and i had a tough time getting my leg over the bike, but its a tough choice, you could always get like something to stand on when you throw your leg over it
To be honest m8 there aint no such thing as too big, if your on your tip toes when sitting on the bike you can adjust the suspension settings to your needs
dont loose ur sprocket bolt kit or ur fucked..and adjust the rear brake alot or it will like (drag). i had to fix on today..i hate like ktm but this bike is nice.
@999lazer i was thinkin of getting a 250 sx-f for next year but i've always riden two stroke so may have to get one of these. how do they compare to a 125 2t?
@mmrsmotocrossracer also its a 2 stroke. so its compared to a 300 4 stroke. yes the ktm woould have more power than the crf. stick with 4 stroke i think thowe...
@xHateCrewDeathrollx yes a 125 2 stroke has the near equivilent power of a bike like a crf250r or f and i think the 150 2 stroke will run against the new 350 race bike
@daPIMPIEST1PENGUIN16 nad i think those extra 25cc's is all the 125s needed to compete with 250 four strokes, lets face it, the 125s are close to 250s but the 250s got em beat on the track
nice....track conditions are like perfect!!....nice bike man..i prefer the kawasaki's myself...i race a 2008 kx125 here in Canada and we got some pretty wicked tracks...
I've ridden KTM my whole life and I love this bike. Sadly I'm going to college and have to sell mine, it's like new I didn't get to ride it much since I moved from PA to GA. So anyone who is in Georgia and wants this bike, I'm just letting you know. PM me I guess? Or Details on craigslist.
I just read a 125 shootout, keeping in mind that it was a 2005 test, there were also all the 250f's included in the shootout, and while the ktm 125sx came in 3rd, it did make the most power out of all the bikes, including the 250f's....and I know the 150 will make more power then the 125..also, people always say 125's are small, though their specs are usually bigger then 250's, such as taller seat height, etc.
i race a kx 125 right now, i rode my friends ktm 150 yesterday i i love it, its lighter then my 125 and has more power, amazing bike, im hopefully getting one
I'm looking to buy a new (different) bike next spring and I am thinking about this one, I don't race but I ride on the tracks, would it be worth it to get the 150 or just save the money and go with a few years older 250f or 125sx? Thanks! Great video btw!
165cm isnt 6ft, im 17 and 181cm, i have a Sx 125, not to small for me, but you need to ride it hard all the time to keep up with 250cc four strokes. Im looking to get a 450. If your an experienced rider, dont get the 150, go for a 250F, if not this bike is perfect id say. They've still got some balls though!
a 125 wouldnt be too small for you. a 150 would be a little easier to ride. dont read leighsa49's remark, four strokes are easier for beginners, if you are fast, it doesnt matter what bike you get. RC could tear us all up on an 80cc.
Note to everyone......Don't bore your bike too 144 my cr125 wont pull it also tried on rm125, yz125 and kx125 these bikes just cant pull, like the factory standard KTM....
these are personal thoughts and tips....don't start crying if ya think this is crap because no dout about it, its true!
i think if you want a 2 stroke ktm is definitely the way forwards, you just need to look after them properly, i ride an 09 sx 250 now and compared to my 08 honda 450 and my 07 honda crf 250 it is just so much more fun, people say oh dont buy a ktm they are crap! those people are talking out of their arses!!! best bike ever!! 2 stroke ftw!!
Don't follow dyno tests unless you are there, every KTM I have ridden has had very flat boring power compared to jap bikes and KTM handle far worse. Look where KTM lands at 9 out of 10 shootouts
Well considering I have owned both Japanese bikes and KTM, I can tell you the japanese ones are a pleasure after hopping off a KTM. Please don't make me explain rider wins the races, not the bikes. Put any KTM rider on a Honda, Yamaha, Kawasaki or Suzuki and you will get same results.
nice bike

Your big enough for the 250.
but going there from an 85 you will scare yourself to death ahaha!
Have you gots mates or parents or anything with 2 stroke 250's? give em a try.
when my mates used to race 250 2 strokes theyd struggle to get it out of 2nd gear,
always hi second or really low 3rd.
i think get a 125 2 strokee youll controll it much better and youll be able to throw it into corners and such.

@mmrsmotocrossracer also its a 2 stroke. so its compared to a 300 4 stroke. yes the ktm woould have more power than the crf. stick with 4 stroke i think thowe...
YehItsMyCRF 1 year ago
@mmrsmotocrossracer the ktm is a 2 stroke so its probably a bit more powerful than a crf250
xHateCrewDeathrollx 1 year ago
@xHateCrewDeathrollx yes a 125 2 stroke has the near equivilent power of a bike like a crf250r or f and i think the 150 2 stroke will run against the new 350 race bike
daPIMPIEST1PENGUIN16 1 year ago
@daPIMPIEST1PENGUIN16 nad i think those extra 25cc's is all the 125s needed to compete with 250 four strokes, lets face it, the 125s are close to 250s but the 250s got em beat on the track
xHateCrewDeathrollx 1 year ago
@mmrsmotocrossracer get a 250
ThorRider0022 1 year ago
the ktm is more powerful but i went from a modified ttr125 to an rm125 and it was pretty easy to get used to

@mmrsmotocrossracer yes but its a ktm. Stick with honda and move up to a crf250r

@racehonda9 you just say stick with honda vause you obviously ride one. ill admitt, hondas 2010's are beast. but the ktm 150 is sick too

I've ridden KTM my whole life and I love this bike. Sadly I'm going to college and have to sell mine, it's like new I didn't get to ride it much since I moved from PA to GA. So anyone who is in Georgia and wants this bike, I'm just letting you know. PM me I guess? Or Details on craigslist.

the most fun you can have on a dirt bike

2-strokes for life. Always leave equal 4-$trokes in the dust.

I just read a 125 shootout, keeping in mind that it was a 2005 test, there were also all the 250f's included in the shootout, and while the ktm 125sx came in 3rd, it did make the most power out of all the bikes, including the 250f's....and I know the 150 will make more power then the 125..also, people always say 125's are small, though their specs are usually bigger then 250's, such as taller seat height, etc.
cale985 2 years ago
Yes they do! Get a KX250F though! =). But if your not racing and wanna have fun.. Get a Sx 250 two banger! =D

They've still got some balls though!

wow, good job on the math skills, accept I think he meant hes 6 ft and 165 pounds......just trying to help

im 16 about 6 foot like 165 would this bike be too small for me bc i saw one brand new for like 4900
emily1tun 2 years ago
a 125 wouldnt be too small for you. a 150 would be a little easier to ride. dont read leighsa49's remark, four strokes are easier for beginners, if you are fast, it doesnt matter what bike you get. RC could tear us all up on an 80cc.
d1incharge 2 years ago

2 stroke ftw!!
ouchmybrain7 2 years ago
Ah KTM's are weak, at least the 125/150's are
elliotmotoX 2 years ago
your fucking retarded. KTMs make the most power. your weak you dumb shit!
mulisha0351 2 years ago 3
Don't follow dyno tests unless you are there, every KTM I have ridden has had very flat boring power compared to jap bikes and KTM handle far worse. Look where KTM lands at 9 out of 10 shootouts
elliotmotoX 2 years ago
lol wat wins every european race but
????
IrishMafiaKiller 2 years ago
Well considering I have owned both Japanese bikes and KTM, I can tell you the japanese ones are a pleasure after hopping off a KTM. Please don't make me explain rider wins the races, not the bikes. Put any KTM rider on a Honda, Yamaha, Kawasaki or Suzuki and you will get same results.
