Hacked Rooted Barnes & Noble nook running Pandora!

@Mkvaladez take a look at when i made this video. I made it over a year ago. One year ago you weren't able to play Pandora on a stock nook. I dunno what has changed since then because i no longer own a nook. If you can use apps now, that's cool. But no i didn't hack it to play a stock app, that would be a stupid reason to hack it.

how much worse will they look? If they seem to be good quality on the computer will they be that good on the nook? does it take extra battery power to read the pdf file books I have downloaded? Sorry for all the questions... and thanks for all the help!

Take this into perspective. Your PDF, if you print it will come out on a 8x11 piece of paper. Your nook is only 6 inches. Its gonna have to compress it to make it fit. Hope that helps.

also I downloaded Calvin and Hobbes the complete series and when I unzipped the files it is nothing but several different folders dated for the years the comics were made and they are just pictures. Could I somehow use the sd card with that as well and it open up on my nook? One last question. Wouldn't the nook deleate the extra books I try to add because of it being so connected to your account on barnes and noble. Wouldn't it update or add another book and deleate your other ones?

There will be a section where you can view your books that you put on there. There's another section for bought books

okay I will try. I ordered my nook today and I will be receiving it probably next week. That's why I havn't been able to try anthing. I was just wanting ideas. I have another question the nook has a micro-sd slot. What if the books I've downloaded are in pdf format. Can I add them to the sd card and put that into the nook and it open them still?

Yup. Just put them on the SD card and they will render on the nook. Can't promise that it will look that great tho.

hey I have a question about the nook. I have downloaded some ebooks from online for free and I was wondering how you get them to go onto the nook.

It depends on the format. Just drop them into your nook. Hook it up to ur computer, it will pop up like a USB thumb drive. Drag ur books to the documents folder and ur good to go.

I think it's pretty cool that he hacked it... I like the idea of running apps on the thing, but not entirely sure I'd be willing to hack my brand new toy. There's already twitter & web browser hacks for it as well that people modified for the device, & hopefully B&N notices and begins to release apps similar to this for the mass audience.

your an idiot mainly you took your nook apart because you arnt smart enough to figure out how to softroot it which isnt very hard at all, all you need is the android sdk and a basic knowledge of command line.

also you just voided your warrenty and you could probably have a lawsuit filled against you for miss using your device and for breach of contract.

Lastly i just wanted to say that just because you can figure out how to do something by reading it off the internet doesnt mean you should do it

your so ignorant. you think its as simple as running some command lines in terminal and its done?! are you that stupid!? you need to find some sort of exploit which obviously was found AFTER I did a hardroot. That was the only way to access the nook OS and root it. Your right, I dont know how to find exploit, but you obviously have NO clue on how jailbreaking/hacking works so get yourself a little educated about it before you leave comments that make you look like a complete jackass.

as much as i like reading, i love hacking gadgets even more. the reason i opened it is because the operating system for the nook is Android which is very powerful and it has the potential of being the best ebook reader out there after we modify it a little bit. i had to open it and modify some files on it so i can root or "jailbreak" it. that way i can install software like pandora. it wont be the best on its own, not straight from the manufacture at least. it needed a lil help from me =)
