ummmmmmmmmmmmmm, shouldnt have you taken off the hard drive before doing that because it could fry it. I would never do the towel trick because it will get set on fire or it will burn all the chips that are arround the X Clamps. Yes that is an easyer way but not a good choice to do if you want it to last. Just take it apart and have the right tools find out whats roung and your good. It might take awhile but you will find out.

anywho i fixed this xbox 360 my brother gave me :0) and it had the 3 red light problem and this is how i fixed mine everytime i put 360 red lights so i opened up my drive and turned it off well about 6 hrs later i turned it on and it worked woooohoooo

yea man. um ive had it yea. the towel trick is the best. follow what this guy says. its esay. wrap 2 THICK towels around it. keep it turend on for about 12 mins (time it while you do it) then take the towells off. turn the xbox off. then turn it on again... it should work.. please reply.
