  • good improvisation!

  • is it possible to get a really housey sounding soft piano from the EA?

Great stuff, I have the Er and thinking about going for an EA but

scared it might be like the EM style of patches

  • @westcoasthaze I've never managed to get piano sounds out of it. It's a pretty basic 2-osc synth times two.

  • fuckin good!

  • I was wondering if anyone knows what could be wrong with my ER1 MK2. I let it sit for a year and went to use it last week. When I go to use the sequencer and try to toggle the 1-16 buttons more than one will light up. (ie: if I hit 1 then 1,3,4 light up. If I hit 6 then 6,7,8,and 9 will light up.) Tried resetting to defaults. Took apart and saw no popped caps or burnt boards. Everything else works fine just that. Any Ideas anyone?

  • @eddiepeay it might be the internal rom battery has gone flat after being left for a while

  • Is that Ritchie Hawtin connected to those arms? Very nice man.

  • The ERMKII is great for Minimal tech sounds. The output on mine was a tad week, all the more reason to get a nice stereo BBE unit or a nice compressor.

  • i like this....congratulations

  • Go play somewhere else with your iPod, this section of youtube is music-equipment-lovers only.

  • skills man

  • you are doing some pretty awsome stuff with your tribes.time by time i and and a friend of mine take care of our 5 tribes (em-1,s mk1, smk II, r mk II, a mk II). this is fun. especially together ;)

  • great!

  • raw ...

proof that you take time and learn even the seemingly simple equipment, someone like this with talent can sound like a million dollar sound system.

quick question, is it the korg ea-1 that has the sounds similar to Planet Rock by Bambaataa?

    peace... JD

  • they use a little fancier equipment, but its essentially the same techniques. they use alot of recorded samples and stuff. check out the

Jazzmutant, thats actually what DP uses today.

  • 1:20 - 1:30 is awesome!!!!

  • such cool sound with 2 tools only? omfg...wanna have!!!!

  • thats some pretty wacked out stuff man

    neet. +} +}

  • whata the difference between electribe a and r? I know one is analog synth and another is rythm, but why couldnt they have put them on the same machine?

  • the two devices came out a different times, different electribes do different things, you know,it probably wasnt oossible to put the two together and stuff.

like,i have the esx and emx,and it proably wasnt feasable for korg to lump the two together,it wouldnt make business sense.

you gotta buy EM ALL!!!! agh!!!! its addictive!!

  • thats what i was afraid of :(. I was just hoping the beat machine and synth could be one. ty

  • if you want a rythm and synth machine in one, get the electribe em1... looks like the silver/blue one in the viedeo above but is black.

you have a synth and a rythm part - costs about 200 at the moment ;)

  • electribe r does all the rhythm, it does rhythm only as far as I know. electribe a does the synths, both are digital analog modeling, meant to model analog synthesizers. And both are cool lol.

  • some funky electro there, love it! especially the transition at 0.40

  • I love this! Keep em' comin', good work!

  • When i get mine i think ill get either both mkI models or both MkII models so they match :) keep up with the bangin tunes

  • I learned a lot from this video. Currently I have Electribe EM-1 but I was thinking getting the older model drum machine Electribe R for all the effects it has. I had no idea that you could step record while it was playing. I knew you could input notes in real time and see them displayed where they are in real time, which I often did for the drums. But I always had trouble with the synths, so I'm going to see if this works for the EM-1 too.

  • thats ace, what are they called?

  • Korg Electribe A and Korg Electribe R. Look up "electribe" on wikipedia to get information about these and more.

  • i just wish the midi resolution was higher, and also velocity sensitive pads.

  • What is MIDI resolution? MIDI isn't even audible. Also it's really pointless to have velocity sensitive pads if most of the time you're just inputting data. Just use a MIDI keyboard controller if you want velocity sensitivity.

  • As for MIDI resolution - most sequencers call it PPQN - Pulses Per Quarter Note. However, since the 'tribes are 16-step machines, a higher resolution would not be of much use; can't make steps inbetween anyway.

Velocity sensitivity has its uses - but for drums it's more sensible to solve this with Motion recording if one wants slight variations in sound, but something like the ReDrum system of 3 fixed velocities (quiet, mid, loud) without using Accent would be nice too.

  • I think what this guy is talking about is the sensitivity of the knobs, am I wrong? I don't have the machine, but this is actually probably a limitation of MIDI, which has a limit of 128 distinct values for any control.

  • u should see denkitribes other videos too!

  • Awesome is great

  • nice..well done dude...it rocks...

  • I come to you as a humble student, please teach me? :)

  • Great vid, kudos on the improv part :)

  • If I send you a pm with my questions about the Kp3 could you answer some for me?

  • I'll answer whenever I can...

  • You Love your Acid man.

hope to have some tunes on soon.

good work dude do you play live on stage you dhould get some gigs.

  • Is there a place we can hear you music?

  • No. But I have some plans to make new place for showing my works.

  • i would so bookmark that

  • nice video, good quality!

    i like your music!

do you use your iPod in this video??

  • Thanks!

This iPod was used to insert environmental noise.
