  • Lashun has such a good sense of music, one of the best vocalists ever

  • I need Lashun & Chrystal Rucker on stage together no holds bars battling note for note it wud be amazing

  • does anyone have the whole clip from shun singing with Timothy Wright "be very sure you anchor holds and grips that solid rock"?

  • what does the # and the 5 mean? and the little b also

  • 7:28 is a C6 sorry not B5

  • voice is definately annointed

  • Well a soubrette is traditionally seen as a type of operatic role, not a voice type per say. At her age Lashun is definately not a soubrette because no woman ever stays a soubrette. They normally grow into coloraturas or lyrics. Lashun is definately a spinto soprano. Spintos are classified by how their voice "pierces" through the music as opposed to a dramatic which carries "over" the music i.e. Jennifer Hudson. Listen to the way her voice pierces thru it all..great video!!

  • @fossilkid4life Lashun isn't a spinto and Jennifer is DEFINITELY not a dramatic. #1- They aren't classical singers. #2- They do what they do WITH mics, classical singers sing w/o mics. #3- They haven't sang anything that quantifies their vocal fachs.

  • @Chimier You don't have to sing something classical to qualify your vocal fach...that would be retarded..a fach is a fach.. It has nothing to do with mics, or no mics, its about your voice. And what is Jennifer if she's not a dramatic? Like seriously, I'd love to know lol

  • @fossilkid4life Um, yes, you do. Those kinds of fachs (spinto, dramatic, lyric etc.) are reserved for CLASSICAL singers because they can do what they can do WITHOUT a mic. Those fachs are CLASSICAL in origin. On top of that, the way classical vocalists sing is completely different. Thirdly, there are certain pieces written for different kinds of voices in classical, so that's another way vocal fach is determined. This is not the case here whatsoever.

    That is all.

  • @fossilkid4life To be a dramatic, Jennifer would need a thick voice all the way from top to bottom and would be able to sing over an entire orchestra with no electronic amplification. Can she do that? No, therefore she's not a dramatic. Her lower register isn't really strong, she only has a "burly" sound in a small window of her voice, higher than that she gets extremely thin and screamy. Dramatic? Not in this lifetime lol.

  • Without all the technicalities...the woman is just AWESOME!! :-)

  • SING SHUN!!!! She has a 3 octave range right?

  • @Emperor961 Most Likely, I know her highest is a Eb6(head note), ive never checked her lowest

  • @MONRAYDAYALWAYZ By this video I know that she's done a D6 and I also know that she has done a D3, so thats how I assumed the 3 octaves.

  • @Emperor961 o ok. well shes not really one for low notes. but sometimes she goes down there. she definitely does it more frequently then karen, btw i love your karen video.

  • @MONRAYDAYALWAYZ Shun is amazing! Karen hardly ever goes bast G3; which annoys me greatly. Thanks, (even I can't stop watching it) LOL!

I Love this video and the one you did 4 Aretha, and her vocal range video for her Arista years. =)

  • @Emperor961 Yes but she hit E flat too in belt before. I forget which one but it was live.

  • @MONRAYDAYALWAYZ Shun has hit a E6 in full mixed voice, like Erkah Badu, there the only ones, I think Karen Clark Sheard has maybe too, but I heard Lashun did a couple times live!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • This women is such an inspiration. Not only can she apparently sing her brains out, but she's HOLY. SAVED FOR REAL. She's very humble unlike other vocalist that have reached the top as she has. I love this women and the gift that the Lord placed in her.

  • she is tha best hail laShun!

  • And her voice is truly God given with no training..those be the best sangers!

  • Crazy high range!

  • Shaun better holla!!!!!!!

  • What about her sister Melonda Pace? They are both sopranos, and if you lsten to her on here singing Too Close, she gets pretty high too.

  • What ever she is, she is the greatest gospel singer there is out there that can scream to the top of her lungs while singing & still stay in range. She is truly AWESOME!! I get chills everytime I hear her sing....like now...LOL

  • Soprano, Soprano, Soprano!!!!! LaShun is a high 1st Soprano. I think she is a Spinto Soprano rather than a Dramatic Soprano. Her tone in the middle register is still very light. She just has a very good belting register and uses it comfortably.

  • @highnote32 some say she is a soubrette, if she was i doubt she is now.

  • @MONRAYDAYALWAYZ She still is.

  • @MONRAYDAYALWAYZ Yeah she is soubrette and still is. Lashun has her days she still can belt C6# D6's like water, when she is not sick and hoarse now. She has been sick alot lately but even on down day she manages at the very least a B5 all the time. But I heard her do a D6 even in 2010, and it was effortless. She used to hit E-flats sometimes LIVE and more than once.

  • @highnote32 What about her sister Melonda Pace? They are both sopranos, and if you lsten to her on here singing Too Close, she gets pretty high too

  • Lol at the fly sounding Eb5. I like her belts, nice placement :P

  • she loves to hit G#5 though i've always noticed that.. lol but i love lashun pace and always have! thanks for the great video! you got some great videos!

  • Nobody belts like Lashun! Nobody!

  • Lashun is still soubrette soprano she has not lost any range. I think health complications and the weight is what cause the raspiness on top. But now she lost some weight in her upper is clear as a belt. She belted out a E-flat too in one performances in mixed tone and easily! Lashun and Erkah Badu have the highest mixed belts.

  • can you please make a video like this for karen clark sheard

  • @greatmusic1001 I will try.

  • @MONRAYDAYALWAYZ

    thank u sooooo much

cuz i've been longing for one for her or yolanda adams

  • @greatmusic1001 I did a vocal range video for Karen Clark Sheard.. check it out =]

  • @Emperor961

    thanks :)

  • @Emperor961 Yeah but Shun belts higher effortlessly than Karen. Shun definitely higher soprano, and I would imagine she can get into whistle register. She never shows that part of her voice. But she truly has hit a E-flat live in belt so has Erkah Badu!

  • She can sang! Outstanding....she is the real deal!

  • LOVEEEEE IT !!!

  • Nice vid love her harsh raspy tone in her upper belts, although you might wanna change the video's title from C#5-D6 to C#5-C#6.

  • @sentfromupabove Excuse my tired ass LMAO great vid :P
