if you have the Sims 2 and press the letter "V" on your keyboard it will record whatever the sims are doing. Pressing "V" again will stop recording.  Then just edit the clips together the way you want them.

If you have the University expansion it comes with the band stuff. Then you make a sim "play rock, country or jazz" and then you have other sims click on the other instruments and click "join"
