  • I'm not like this! Well maybe with the channel count...

  • Yeah, I'm usually on the other side of this...The thing is, is house sound guys get paid to take care of the house gear. Yes they should be good at it. But if they ARE good at it, bring some respect and let them do their job. Ok, you mix this 12 piece band (that brought NO drinking customers) while I go to the bar and drink, but if I hear feedback from the damn vocals or see red on the amps I'll flip because now I have to clean up your crap, and come in tomorrow for free and fix the speakers.

  • if the touring engineer is working with a house guy like that i think it often speaks to the quality of the venue the band is playing.

  • i feel like this could have been funnier, but still pretty close!

  • Absolutely brilliant, our technicians are

Exactly like that. They are failed sound engineers and are Akward in social situations.

  • great dance moves

  • Hilarious! #mused

  • Awesome!

  • funny as fuck

  • Spot on! Right down to the failed musician only been in a crappy cover band. Is it wrong I feel vindicated somehow?

  • Great!, but one-sided of course. I've seen the dick touring engineer in action as well...

  • @scodav Damn right. I work both sides. Don't get me started.

  • I work doing visuals and I know this is true with audio and video. I just go along the situation without any stress and that is it.

  • hahaha its so true, he even looks like them!

  • I've been doing FOH for 36 years. I find most guys try to be helpful. But there's always that one guy who has a "better idea" for my band that he thinks I should try!! Makes it so much fun... :-(

  • I work in house, but this is funny as shit

  • Hahaha! Right on! :-)

  • Amen!

  • LMFAO!!!!!

  • Maybe the most accurate thing I've ever seen on you tube.

  • Beautiful.

  • lol this is brill!!

  • I love leggos!

  • LOL @ The Funktion-One comment.. the preaching trolls... The truth hurts!

  • lol most touring guys are studio guys not live sound and bring toys they don't know how to use. then we pull out a m7 and the get all digico on use...........lol we baby sit them make'em feel worm and fussy then send them on thier way

  • @mykmmc

m7......wow!! i bet the touring guys cant believe they get to use such a fantastic desk!!!!

  • Ohh cringe, - Variously, I've been in (all 4 of) their shoes. - but it was long ago and far away.

    KO

  • been there, done that.

  • bahahaha the dancing after the analysis of the house guy is the best possible part

  • fantastic!

  • Damn.. THESE are Funn~eeee!!

  • it's funny because it's true

  • yup, that about sums up 99% of all the crummy bar and club gigs I did.

  • I can't stop watching this one. It fits the club level perfectly. I do agree with Crud5000, it is nice when you get the good ones and a chance to return the favor.

  • So true......

I did a venue recently where the house guy's first word to me was "PARDON?"

  • JoeStanley I know exactly who you mean.

"I used to work for the BBC (and now despite the fact that I do sound in a youth club) I'm going to have a go at you because you're younger than me"

  • good work Bars

I think I've met that guy at a venue in Hertfordshire haha

  • Comment removed

  • Yup that's about right.

Of course this is mostly applicable to the Club Touring Level, but you also see this at the higher professional level, even in the unions (of which I am in several).

I also have been the house Audio tech at many Venues and have tried to give each band and crew a clean slate, until...

Have had the Touring crew be total A-holes, can go either way.

I feel why not be nice and professional, work should be fun.

If you can't be nice then maybe it's time to get a different job.

  • @Crud5000 On the flip side of that it's so great to have some one that really is great to work with and they go out of their way to make it happen.

Then later in your home town you get to return the same right back to them when they come through.

That really makes it worth it in some ways, besides other things.. LOL! =D

Welcome home, I know it all to well, sleeeeeep! ;-)

    Cheers

  • Haha Effin ace Bars!
