Man, this take me back! I remember this being one of the first games I ever played on a pc, along with prince of persia, commander keen and jazz jack rabbit when I was little. The graphic and the music are still burned in my memories. And to think I never finished it... everytime I got stuck in the moonbase (freakin rolling globes...). Thank you pal! :D
Okay very stupid question: How do I fire the blaster? I tried pressing all kinds of buttons on the keyboard but zero luck so far. And yes I picked up the object at the very beginning.
remembered this game today at work, holy shit good times indeed, all those different items you had to get, like the ''boot'' in order to jump far enough lol...and ofcoarse the crown
I figured out a hack for this game about twenty years ago. If you pause the game (I think with Esc.) and unpause with the fire button, the enemy on the screen will die.
@sorryse2 : There won't. We'd be lucky if Michael Denio had the initiative to release the NES version of Captain Comic on the Wii's Virtual Console service, let alone a full blown sequel.
The game itself was meant to be an experiment, to prove that a full-color, four-way scrolling EGA game could be done on PC/IBM compatibles. I think Denio was focused more on making the game functional than anything else. It's why Captain Comic 2 was a better game.
OH MY GOODNESS the sights and sounds!! this makes me extremely nostalgic, as many hours of my childhood were spent trying to beat this game (in vain LOL). THANK YOU for posting this up! glad i found it :-) God bless!

Wow, This is the first video game I ever played, and i remember it being so frustrating to me being 4 years old at the time lol. I was thinking about it not too long ago and i wondered if anyone had it posted. you made my night man. So many good memories
@redalertasy1: My pleasure, man. My memory's fuzzy, but Captain Comic was definitely one of the first games I'd ever played back on my crummy old 286. =D
Duke Nukem is also good! to the last one "Plutoniium:" that require Pentium chip or better. The latest has yet to arrive after 5 years of delays... When will it be ready to hit the stores?
It's actually titled ''Duke Nukem Forever", and it's been delayed for 13 YEARS as it's been in production since 1996 or 97 if I'm not mistaken.
Earlier this year, 3D Realms had ceased and therefore Duke Nukem Forever has been shafted, and will probably never see the light of day. :(
The good news is that the Duke Nukem Trilogy created exclusively for the DS/PSP will not be affected and are expected to be released from early next year.
Best Dos game of all time! I completed both Planet of Death (shareware) and the Fractured Reality (registered version) Guess what? It took me over a year of almost daily playing to complete both. Brilliant Dos Game! Require dexerity a lot! gave my brain a real work out ! it may look childish to you unless you decide to complete it which is a big difference! Better than Mario or Donkey Kong . My other fav is StarCastle simililar to Asteroids but you circle around and around like crazy!
i remember our computer teacher back in the second grade used to have this game and oregon trail for us to play. and where in the usa is carmen san diego. hes the principal at our high school now.
omg talk about nostalgia. This was one of the first games I ever had, along with Commander Keen. I was so proud when I finished it. Looking back at it now it seems so short, but it took me ages! Thanks for uploading.
What's the beat called that's playing at the beginning when the word "general" flashes on the screen? It's between 0:00 and 0:10. It's really nice. XD
As a child I wanted a PC just to get this game! Once I had it, I played it for an hour, and then I found Doom. Almost forgot about my exfavorite at that time, but now it brings back so much memorys.
Awesome, i remember being so proud when i completed this game as a kid haha!!! could'nt do it again though, one section was so confusing i just pushed buttons until somehow i got out! :0)
My God, what a mega flashback. For some reason tonight, I just remembered this game out of the blue, thinking about beloved my aunt who passed away a few months ago (she liked this game but sucked at it). I checked and found, sure enough, a video on YouTube.
i completed it ages ago on a 386... and at the end it was adding points up or something? and it just went on and on and my parents told me to turn the computer off because i wasn't allowed to leave it on overnight so i dont know what happened after that! maybe it jammed!?
i cant remember how old i was but it felt like it took me ages! Like hours!
that's cool...i played the 2nd one ALL THE TIME, and was about 80-90% through it when our computer crashed..the new one didnt have DOS...i never got to finish it....
I have the game, but I've never finished it before. A few weeks ago, I played through it a little (for the first time), but I wouldn't be able to record a walkthrough for a game that I know so little of. Maybe someday. Just don't expect it to happen anytime soon. :P
Maaaan...must've been ages ago that I played Captain Comic, yet I never forgot. I remember the sounds, I remember the levels, I remember the music...oh, sweet memories :D
