Can anyone identify the ship that is shown being strafed and blown up in the movie? Military records list it as the German Torpedo Boat TA27, which was previously the Italian Ariete Class Torpedo Destroyer Ariuga. The ship shown in this trailer is NOT that ship. The main armament is wrong, there is not center line torpedo mount, and the TA27/Ariuga did not have enclosed sponson turrets on the starboard (and presumably port) side.
@jvidell It makes no sense... but that ship is WITHOUT a doubt the HMS Hood... which was British. It was sunk by the Bismark before the US entered the war, let alone the Tuskegee seeing combat. Not to mention, the US and the British were allies! Something's seriously wrong with this movie- on several accounts.

It actually looks kinda interesting. There seems to be a story behind it, possibly with characters. This is probably in part because of a different director behind the movie. It looks FAR more interesting and creative with "people" moments with talking than if George was fully at the wheel. Though, as producer, you know he had his say. That would explain why 2/3 of the entire trailer is CG. Frankly, the battle sequences seem a bit uninteresting to me.

Can anyone identify the ship that is shown being strafed and blown up in the movie? Military records list it as the German Torpedo Boat TA27, which was previously the Italian Ariete Class Torpedo Destroyer Ariuga. The ship shown in this trailer is NOT that ship. The main armament is wrong, there is not center line torpedo mount, and the TA27/Ariuga did not have enclosed sponson turrets on the starboard (and presumably port) side.

@jvidell It makes no sense... but that ship is WITHOUT a doubt the HMS Hood... which was British. It was sunk by the Bismark before the US entered the war, let alone the Tuskegee seeing combat. Not to mention, the US and the British were allies! Something's seriously wrong with this movie- on several accounts.

@jkilts No, it is not the Hood. The Hood had two turrets aft, the ship in the movie only had one. Also, the Hood did not have sponson turrets.

@jvidell To me it looks like the Hood, but they modeled it inaccurately. However, it looks a lot like the Hood, and I can't match it up with any other ship- and I has seen nearly every class of ship in WWII.

Ha! Pretty good? Try amazing! It was such a great movie. I found myself crying, laughing, with my jaws open in amazement. It is such an inspiring story of the Tuskegee Airmen but this movie, this movie was just incredible.

@RelevantNewss Slavery happened because it is human nature and has been since the dawn of man. It will remain to be there too. I see a lot of hate towards whites and blacks. Yet, there is still slavery going on all over the world, Bosnia, Kenya, China, Rwanda, Bolivia. Check out their history, just check out the last 25-30 years. You don't have to go far. What is even worse, is that slavery was abolished in the US long ago, these other countries still have it.

My family (late gradfather) fought this war and he was white. He said he too use to be ignorant agaist the AA's that were there because of what he had been taught...he saw that WE ARE ALL IN THIS TOGETHER FIGHTING THE SAME CAUSE!...They had a war within their own country. The name of my old squadron was the 99th Pursuit Composite Squadron, named by a veteran of the 99th Pursuit Squadron from 1942-45. I have yet to see this movie, but I've heard Lt. Col. Lane's testimony about his Air Force service. Lieutenant Colonel Charles A. Lane is the youngest Tuskegee Airman. Get your facts STRAIGHT and your HEAD out of your ASS!

It actually looks kinda interesting. There seems to be a story behind it, possibly with characters. This is probably in part because of a different director behind the movie. It looks FAR more interesting and creative with "people" moments with talking than if George was fully at the wheel. Though, as producer, you know he had his say. That would explain why 2/3 of the entire trailer is CG. Frankly, the battle sequences seem a bit uninteresting to me.

@MrTheshitman They lost 25 bombers and there are no black pilots among the US fighter pilot ace association. The top 10 fighter pilot aces are Germans with Erich Hartmann at 300 individual air fight kills. Stop drinking the kool aid and look the recent research about the Tuskeegee airmen. They underperformed. The best US fighter group in WW2 were the 56th fighter group.
