  • Advice: dont work out for more than an 30 minutes to an hour a day. Eat alot of high calorie foods such as peanut butter, milk, bananas etc.You are a kid. You are an ectomorph you need to eat a lot, but dont work out too much because your metabolism will burn off your protein. You will not gain any muslce until you eat like a starving child, high in carbs, protien, etc. P.S. The human body only absorbs 6-9 grams of protein an hour so it does not matter where you get it from.

    you don't have to get your protein from any specific sources. you actually don't even need protein your body discards that as waste. what your body uses is the amino acids that is inside the protein molecule. i would recommend eating beef early on in the day and going to a low fat protein later in the day like fish or chicken. milk should be consumed at night due to it's slow digestion process. you sleep eight hours thats a long time with no food.

  • @jmyjms86 Many bodybuilder like Swarcheneger i heard that eating very much beef and is the key for the restoration and strength. They eating more than that i suggested and i think they was right because i doing the same and i have very good results. Ofcourse you have to do many thinks for the best nutrition and if we start writing something here will be waste of time because you can google it and found many good websites and forums to read and learn.

    secondly you don't want peanut butter immediately after a workout, fats like peanut butter slow down digestion which is what you don't want after a workout you want quick absorbtion. also fat doesn't make you fat, sugars and carbs do more and if you don't consume enough fat your testosterone levels drop. you have a lot to learn kid.

  • Everyone should be a little leery of protein powders. A lot of it is coming from China now and they have been cheating the protein tests by adding melamine to the protein products like soy, whey, etc. Melamine destroys the kidneys. Google it.

    Unfortunately at my level of the game I am 230 pounds and constantly increasing. I can't afford nor do i have time to cook and eat 6 full meals a day. I need to drink a shake every other meal

  • You're doing a very good job, especially for your age. Keep it up. Don't let the negative comments get to you. There is no one right answer. Everyone has different opinions.

    I would recommend using real peanut butter and not the spread. You might even go with almond butter. The real peanut butter can be purchased in any store. It has the oil sitting on the top and you have to stir it, or just poor it off.

  • I didn't see the size of the scoop but my scoop contains aroud 15g. So it is hard to believe that one scoop of yours contains 26g of Protein.

  • If you use peanut butter, go with natural peanut butter. It should say either peanuts only, or at most, peanuts and salt. Most peanut butter is full of sugar.   • I can't believe anybody would listen to this kid. Do you see how small he is? Just eat big meals and stay away from fast food. Lift light weights and progress to heavier stuff as you get older and stronger.

  • i think you should only do light weights with a lot of reps and then when your arms arm more boney then start liftin heavy to really build your muscles. oh dont use that protein cuz they say there is 26 grams of protein per scoop but what they really dont tell you is that more of the protein in the scoop is just sugar. get muscle milk cuz its an isolate type of protein.

  • yes you are correct that is a saying people use that is not true-turn muscle into fat. what actually happens is whne you increase muscle mass it raises your metabolism which will then allow you to burn more full--decreasing fat.
