  • Great band!

  • geert de vos

  • WOW!!! THAT'S STEPPING BACK IN TIME!! THANK'S

  • Love this song since I've seen Detroit Rock City, which is one of my favourite road movies of all times!

Also: OMG! DANCING audience?! I've never seen such thing before. But then again ... I'm a metal-head. Everybody knows we didn't even know how to dance if our lives depended on it.

  • Woman´s band?

  • I'd love to know which sitcom this was used for in 1975 every Sunday night.

  • All them gals dancing in the audience... you know, of course, they'd all love to shag Brian senseless.

    Bastard!

  • @svecter Who can blame them :-)

  • Listened to an interview with Anthony and Chad from the Chili Peppers on Jo Whiley's show on Wednesday night on Radio 2. Apparently this is one of their favourite tunes.......don't know quite what that says about Sweet, the Chilis or me but thought I'd pass it on.......peace and love.

  • y is there a dislike button???? that is not right

  • when steve priest sings into the microphone i find it sexy! i dont know why lmao im 23

  • I just adore this song! Glamour rock, awesome!

  • What's great about this is that Kurt Cobain saw it when he was growing up. He totally did the same thing on Top of the Pops when Nirvana came through there.

  • what a time to be in your teens.. magic time magic music

  • Weird! I just posted that same observation on another video for this same exact song. Brilliant minds think a like I guess. Anyway, I think their similarity is more in their image and their posing but maybe in the music too to some degree.

  • Somewhat...with the heavy metal it's like Sweet on acid if you know what I mean.

IF Spinal Tap (or the genesis of the band) was a real group in 1966, I would've like them save the fact that I was only four in real time.

  • this song takes me back to freshman year high school..I'll love this song AND group forever.

  • Brian Connolly in that powder blue suit really takes the cake.

  • I was 8 years old and bought this 45 ..had no idea what a great band they were until I was MUCH older...Steve Priest was such a doll baby!!...love the ornery look in his eye!

  • I OVE IT FOX ON THE RUN FOX ON THE RUN FOX ON THE RUN FOX ON THE RUN!!!!

  • there are a lot of foxes!

  • Best song ever!

  • they're so rock'n' roll

  • Great great band and tune. Not too sure abot Brians Kecks though :O lol

  • Their only great sucess befor "Level Headed"...

  • Steve Priest=Faggott who was way too Sweet

  • 5 people wish they could fit into that suit.

  • The versions on the albums sounds much heavier. I like this TOTP version as well because you can hear Brian's voice much better in the chorus.

I like those hairstyles ; i think if a man has great hair you gotta show it!

  • allright glam may be kinda gay but is there better music than this???

  • The Sweet are the best forever!! Thanks for sharing the vid. I love it. R.I.P.Brian and Mick!

  • Thanks for the post! This definitely on my I-Pod! I miss this music!!!!

  • Lovely video, great song and good quality, thank you so much :)

  • Is this Spinal Tap??

  • epic!

  • This song sounds like Do Ya by the Move

  • @ELOSHAZZY

Do Ya,,,by Electric Light Orchestra...but you're right...a similar style. But not copy cat. Sweet was awesome.

  • @riskyfool

hahaha...just looked at your handle...well I'm not telling you anything you don't know.

  • They may not be really singing and playing but who cares! This band rocked everyone. 70's rock rules.

  • @goofygoat2009 Agree! 70's rock, was the last decade for good rock n roll music! I was in high school in the 70's i'm so glad I was a part of it! very glad that young people today enjoy the music.

  • @magicalhoneypie I gotta disagree with you on that one, with all due respect. The 90's had some of the best music I've ever heard. much of what was called grunge was actually just really hard rock.

  • Girlschool's cover of this song comes very close to the original version

  • The Sweet were so much better live than recorded...why oh why do we get lip sync??

  • @80sjamming This is on a teen tv show in britian... that's why

  • Such a great song by a great band! Its so funny, they didnt even TRY to play in synch with the recording! The drum set doesnt even have bass drum pedals!!!

  • brian looks the biz.

  • Anybody hear Ace Frehely's version of this....its pretty good it came out last year

  • Brian actually sang LIVE, knowin' what I know 'bout TOTP, the songs were usually lip-synched. Billboard's #74 song of '76. How'd it do in the UK? God bless!

  • this version is correct tempo and intonation. first time i saw it as it was intended.

  • I adore The Sweet and saw them back in '92 on the Monsters of Glam Rock tour (well Brian was there anyway.) One thing though- as the group started to look less fresh faced (as a result of living the rock and roll lifestyle) and therefore actually needed to wear make up, why did they start wearing so much less?

  • c'est amusant de les revoir. J'enviais tellement les anglais d'avoir cette émission TOP OF THE POPS et j'aimais cette chanson. que font-ils maintenant ces beaux garçons ? what do they do now ? are they always in show biz ?

  • Great music of the day!!! Damn! I'm gonna dig waaaaay back deep in my closet and get out my platform shoes, flare leg pants, and find a bowl to put on my head to get that way-cool hair do. (hair-don't).

Just makin' a little fun because we all wore this scary crap back in the day, while sporting the hippy, mullet, bad-ass hair-do look.

    Great memmories!!!

  • what the hell are they talking about?

  • @TZAVELENA groupies

  • they are sooooo cuuuteeeeee :3

  • Brian Connolly had great hair

  • They just don't make music like they used to

  • I bow down to The Sweet....awesome....

  • The Sweet ROCK!!!!

  • very nice Rock'n Roll suit !!!

  • My fave Sweet song.Along with Trex,Mud,Slade, etc this was when everyone looked forward to watching TOTP!!

  • I <3 Steve!!!!

  • My God! He was so sweet- Brian Conolly/R.I.P.) .I find it so addictive- this melody, Excellent!

  • man this song kicks ass!!!! give it up to the godfathers of glam

  • okay, so they can't lip sync. this song is awesome and this band is awesome!

  • Watch the drummer at the end of the video. You can see the shock in his eyes as he missed the playback :D

  • I LOVE BRIAN !!! SWEET RULES !!!

  • Haben die damals alle Perücken getragen .. GRINS! Hier ein weiterer Kultsong aus den 70ties .. halt Old-School-mässig. Der Song kletterte in den deutschen Charts bis auf Platz eins.

  • Andy Scott is a rock god. So underrated its not true but who gives a shit.

  • Andy seems mad or bored,I like how he diden't follow the miming to the studio and goofed around.

  • Steve is so cute!!

  • I wish i could get away with cutting my hair like that!

  • @drygwelski hahah just do it.. its a good feeling when people look at you like because you have a different hair style that your different then everyone and weird when youre just liberating yourself :)

  • @drygwelski That hairdo and a tightass leisure suit, maybe some leather. Baby,my kinda man !

  • Sooooo Sweet !!!

  • Steve Priest was and is and always will be my HERO HE WAS IN IT FOR THE LAUGHS AND WOMEN lol

  • Rockin!

  • I never heard this before, they put it in the awsome movie ''THE GOODS'' everyone should check it out it's funny as hell it took me a little bit to find but I listen to this really good music everyday now it makes me happy!!

  • Sweet started out as a rock band . ie not glam rock just like queen , did in queen one. listen to burning by sweet its really good and not well known

  • From 1973-1978, The Sweet had 4 top-10 hits in the USA; 1973-Little Willie #3, 1975-Ball Room Blitz #5, 1976-Fox on The Run #5 and 1978-Love Is Like Oxygen #8.

  • Ummmmmm wow.

  • They were the bees knees.....great memories, thanks

  • The backup singer has a glint of rape in his eyes.

  • crap

  • one of my favourite sweet songs . . .brings back soooo many memories ;-) i believe this was one of their own compositions.thanks for sharing xx

  • does anyone else think they look alot like the dudes in the film "Spinal Tap" ?

  • The SWEET FOREVAAAA,......hmm....never noticed until now but the dark-blonde guitar player with only a vest on, looks like my HS buddy B. White,....lol....! xD

  • One of the best singles of the 1970s, period. Thank you so much for finding this gem!

  • This is the single and short version, the lenghty one is on the "Desolation Blvd." album (1974)

  • Steve Priest so pretty. Beautifull man

  • Perhaps at that time, now you need widescreen

to see him in full person.

  • whaha what a wierd song =P

  • I bought the single 45 rpm when this came out..LOL...ballroom blitz was cool...but I really dug this track.

  • Questo disco entro' fra i primissimi posti come single nelle classifiche, in Italia!

  • Hmmm... It looks like his penis hid itself away. lololol

  • always thought they were saying "for fucks sake" at the end of the chorus

  • i never heard it that way before, but i can now. Thats hilarious.

  • thats as helarious as this video is!

  • @shittyshit69 i am ROFLMAO!!! XD

  • Question...I heard somewhere that the guy who played "Taggart" on tv was Brian Connolly's half brother, true?

  • Not true but Brian was adopted by Mark McManus's uncle and aunt.

  • I heard this story years ago also. Never found out the truth. Ahh well both have passed on so we might never know

  • How Sweet!

  • whata great music

  • Fantastic!

    Incredible!

  • Lead singer Brian Connolly and Benjamin Buttons actress Tilda Swinton....separated at birth????? You be the judge!

  • i was born in the wrong decade..i should've been born inthe 50's to be in my 20's in the 70's !!..lol !! great era for music , fashion , partying , ...

  • Agree!

    Just like me! :)

  • Hey it don't matter when you were born as long as you enjoy it now! Just enjoy it while your still alive.

  • @scruffy2112 Spoken like an old guy

    and yer right

  • Dude same here bro

  • It was a great time to to be a

    dazed and confused teenager

I'll save ya a trip to my profile

    I'm 50 I was before Nancy said no. ;o

  • @blica1 I hear ya! I was born in the mid 60's and got to experience a lot of this as a youngster and early teen.

Just not quite old enough for the real fun.

  • YEAHBYEAHB SHALALA PAK

  • Great group, great tune.

...and I love Stevie´s kinky face...

  • Funny story. I was just playing this on YouTube and my 17 year old walked by and said it sounded like Ace Frehley. He didn't know he covered this tune on his new album. Now that he mentions it, he's right. "I don't wanna know your name." This part sounds very much like Ace on his '78 solo album. No wonder he covered it!

  • I've always thought Ace would do a great cover of this. I was right...im my opinion

  • gottta luv sweet....greatness!

  • they were soooo glam! great song and video!

  • michaelstmark it was 1974

  • Brilliant glam ... proto glam!

  • You know, Brian Connelly would have been a decent repacement for Bon Scott in Ac/Dc.

  • I remember this song, one of my fav's! I got it on my ipod

  • Got to no 2 in the charts, in '76.

  • Best Rock song ever

  • Fuck yeah! This is my all time favorite song. The Sweet is not only the world's most underrated band ever, but the best period! Fox on the Run is what Rock N' Roll is all about...
