  • If they would have known any better, the day Columbus set foot on the island, would have been his last day of lliving.

  • think about this, Christopher came to the Caribbean with 3 shipfuls of mostly criminals, men, they came and met women whom they took, so my taino blood is mixed with Spanish blood, the destroyers of my ppl blood runs in my veins

  • I am a historian and everything you state here is true.

I commend you on this video series. This was nothing more than a genocide in the name of greed and dressed in the hypocrisy of religion. The various native cultures of Hispaniola, Puerto Rico and Cuba were snuffed out in less than 20 years.

There were people of conscience such as Padre Las Casas and Montesinos that had the moral fortitude of voicing their disgust regardless of consequences.

  • @Bayaquitiri True but it was to little to late...

  • Taino Arawak Mongoloid are far more beautiful and exotic that niggers hahahahahahahaha

  • @jorgeayalaize I bet you don't talk this way in the real world, only write with ignorance in the internet like a coward.

  • @jorgeayalaize you do your blood much disrespect by such ignorant comments my brother.

  • Columbus was no different from all the other discovers...

Steal, Kill and Destroy the indians and the africans. I live in a country named by the tainos and yet, have never met one.

Not being racist but... I have no idea what the white man has evolved from...

  • Christopher Columbus :

"They are so gentle and peaceful, with such beautiful houses and character...

lets fuck em over and take their gold since we are so greedy!!!"

Fuck you CC! Much love to all my Taino brothers, saludos desde Mexico.

  • Columbus I spit on your grave!!

  • stop being so naive all the shit that spanish did in the name of wealth is being commited today in the middle east and africa, you people are falling for the same tricks that your ancestors fell for, all the governments have to do to convince you to wage war on people is make you fear them. The world has not changed!! what was the spanish back then is now the united states and nato. the natives were savages the arabs terrorist do you see the pattern. The spanish were not the only ones

  • @rudenko54 and the guanches??............... Where are the Guanches?

  • @mariaesperanzalopez most puerto ricans have Guanche and spanish DNA

  • @Dudeluv27 will be spaniard not spanish.......... spaniard coz they have DNA arabs

  • @Dudeluv27 theGuanches are indigenous of the Canary Islands, not spaniard

  • @mariaesperanzalopez both ethnic groups are caucasian, canary and spanish..

  • @Dudeluv27 and arabs?.........

  • @mariaesperanzalopez =_= same...

  • @Dudeluv27 The Spaniard scientist says that the Guanches were also Taino Arawak or descendants of the Arawak Indians, read this and have to say? in his book: the Arawak Taino Pre-Columbian culture in the Canary Islands.

  • @Dudeluv27 Novoa: "The Arawak Indians a crucial influence on the Guanche culture"

An archaeologist opens an unexpected door Galician reflection on the past of the natives of the Islands with a work that reflects something more than similarities between the physical features, language and folklore of indigenous canaries and these inhabitants of the Antilles majors.

  • @Dudeluv27 Galician archaeologist Paul Novoa, unpublished author of "The araguaco-Taino: a pre-Columbian culture in the Canary Islands," he said in an interview with this newspaper, that these Indians came from the Greater Antilles, and even settled, between VII and X centuries, some parts of La Gomera, Tenerife and Gran Canaria.

  • Comment removed

  • @Dudeluv27 The work is the result of more than 20 years of research work on comparative aspects of both cultures such as language, place names, archaeological remains, customs, rites, and even blood traits of its members.

  • @Dudeluv27 "The French archaeologist Bernau discovered in La Gomera in the area a certain percentage of individuals of low height (1.50 meters), with short legs and arched conditions that only meets the American Mongoloid aboriginal Taino and coincide with other exhumed for me in Venezuela, "he said.

  • @Dudeluv27 Novoa said it has only been limited to "piece together a large puzzle, which also fit with such issues as whistle language" on which he revealed that "there is an area ofCentral America in the Arawak groups still practice a very similar to La Gomera whistle ", so that it is" not unique in the world, "he said.

  • @mariaesperanzalopez wow, thanx for the history lesson! :D

  • @Dudeluv27 "These remains also appeared to a lesser extent, in Tenerife and Gran Canaria," he adds. One thing more: "Trepanation was also practiced in America, and probably was a rite imported" from this culture.

  • @mariaesperanzalopez Watch my video to see the racial DNA makeup of puerto rican people....

  • @mariaesperanzalopez I know who you are lmao! you're acoupleofbeers Lmao. Epic Fail! You're not even puerto rican too! stop trolling hoe.

Jennifer Lopez is noo mestiza! her parent look pure white mediterranean, i don't even consider a mestiza cuz she is not a 50/50 balanced biracial. she is most likely 1/8 amerind like most puerto ricans! Alot of them are triracial wether you like it or not. go fuck your self acoupleofbeers!

  • @XxKillerteddybearsX3 in the united states of america jennifer lopez not consider caucasian tell you that she is also castiza but not caucasian will then be 70 or 75% Spaniard and 25 or 30% Mongoloid American Taino in USA consider Caucasian when people is 100% Caucasian blood, and the peruvians are arawaks too

  • @mariaesperanzalopez she aint no 30% native lmao! You must be on crack!, I know puerto ricans that havent even come close to 20% amerind. all of them took dna test and they all usually come out 15 or 10% amerind.

You have such an obsesion over amerindian people. There is something wrong with you. Puerto ricans are triracial folks please get that trough your head. look at all the autosomal studies done in puerto rico. The majority of them are european and african and some native..

  • @TheRedJester86 Not true, Arawak is a language group, not a specific culture, Tainos spoke Arawakan. It is one of the two theories that "Tainos derived from "Incan" Culture", the more valid one is that their provenance was Venezuela, and they were a completely separate culture from the Incas. There is much knowledge about the cultures of the prehistorical Caribbean through archaeological evidence and ethnohistory. I think you may be thinking of the Caribs as being violent(possible misconception)

  • @msienkovt looks like I got more research to do ^_^

    thanks

  • @msienkovt friend if you do not know the histories of the Americas opines better not look at Peru's indigenous tribes are the coast and highlands and jungle tribes descended from Arawak, the Amazon came to the mountains and coast of Peru and the Amazon is also went to Venezuela's Caribbean Tainos came from Venezuela but not in the Amazon of South America all left the black river q is in the center of Brazil and so went to the Greater Antilles

  • @msienkovt and the Incas with the Taino Arawak different lines are and Quechua was imposed on the pblacion as a language of greatness as a udioma q planted but were not natural to them and even today esra the languages and archeology have proven very sparing between the Tainos and some of the Inca Wari culaturas Ashaninkas Tiawanaku from peru I'm looking and I'm Ashaninka indigenous Arawak net and speak a language also the Ashaninka Arawak

  • @TheRedJester86 Nah man, tainos do not derive from the Incan people. Incas are badazz, tainos are freakin' weak as hell.

  • @josias619 Incas also were Arawaks, but perhaps more developed tambiem Arawaks and language were themselves the Quecuas were implanted as a language of greatness once thought q Incas of the Andes left but the latest research in Peru hana realized that Tiahuanaco Incas waris come from the Amazon jungle and then migrated Peruvian highlands and coast

  • @josias619

and these tests will change the history of peru

  • bastards

  • @HezzyMusic colombus's boys i mean

  • The Taínos were established in the Greater Antilles for more than two millenia. They hunted small animals and picked crops. The Taínos were attacked by the aggressive Caribes.

  • dam anglos and spaniards

  • @boricuamovement im not even going to entertain you! I know what i am and i live in spain now and i dont have nothing against spanish people whats done is done! I will continue to promote the taino blood line because that's my blood no matter what you think!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • BORICUA TAINO PRIDE. DONT CALL ME LATINO

  • @boricuamovement

Does your tribal membership entitle you to tribal property? Do you hold documentation proving such?

Are you described under 8USC1401(b) a person born in the United States to a member of an Indian, Eskimo, Aleutian, or other aboriginal tribe: Provided that the granting of citizenship under this subsection shall not in any manner impair or otherwise affect the right of such person to tribal or other property;?

Or are you a lying fake indian aka a "pretendian?"

    Fucking Latrino

  • I hope columbus is in hell

  • Im reading a lot of post with people saying tainos are only in puerto rico and santo domingo but im here to let you all know im from haiti and my blood line is taino. Even though my blood line has african blood too (thanks to the european that brought the africans over) my grandmother is from haiti she was very dark but she had indian hair and i always how did she have hair like indians so i started my research and the elders in my family informed me that we were indians 1st. true story......

  • Comment removed

  • @shacolin Taino people were the original inhabitant of Hispaniola, which includes both Haiti and Dominican Republic.

Though, no one alive today in either island is a 100% Taino, a lot of people have Taino blood in their veins.

  • Greed makes you do heartless things to innocent people

  • Very nice!

  • @Blacklion....on depend where they came from the areas some has 2 mixed races (spanish&taino) or (black&taino) or (spanish&black) or all three race mixed together if u know what I am sayin

  • spanish roots go as far back to the Arabs being in Spain nearly 800yrs..even many spanish words are of arabic origin...Too bad spain took it back and unfortunately for them got their paganistic theological ideas from the romans and greeks who were the forefathers and pioneers of PAGANISM.....

  • Dominican/Honduran here. My Great Grandmother and Grandmother have Taino ancestry. They were fairly tanned women, except my Great Grandmother had light eyes. I'm light skinned with light eyes. Is it possible for Tainos to have natural light eyes? I don't mean having European ancestry, but a full blooded Taino with light eyes? My Great Grandmother and her sisters were all Taino with light eyes but I'm not sure if they were full blooded Tainos. Answers would be appreciated.

  • @MyUnfamous Gracias :)

  • @asskings0 But if you have African & Spanish in you how does that make you Taino? Exactly.

  • Spaniard bastards

  • @janisary211......we still actually have Tainos in our bloods along with another mixed doesnt mean we have to be white or black ....we know that Tainos not all of em has died "end story" bullshit u see census long ago the white spaniards has dropped the count of Tainos and most of em hid in cave and forrests they white men will never find em thats where they bastards thinks its extinction bullcraps i dont take white men's words anyway they always lies!

  • Taino pride from puerto rico and nyc

  • Spain, burn in hell.

  • @TamakoAkai If Spain didn't arrive, would you exist? Answer that.

  • my mother is light puerto rican, strawberry blonde hair, light eyes, freckles even, my father is taino, dark skin, dark thick curly hair, his grandmother [my greatgrandmother] was of a taino tribe. my father makes it a point to tell me of my taino heritage (I'm dark but I also have lighter siblings that are also taino). my mothers side of the family have that spaniard, irish, scottish, french blood, my father is native puerto rican. either way you put it I'm really really puerto rican lol

  • 3:00 this is how most dominican today are by seeing this i could just imagen how taino were back then (hangin out wit their neighbors, luaghin out loud, having fun,)but alot of dominicans are evill today thx to all the crisis that the country went threw

  • I am proud to say that i am puertorican and 60% taino...and my white DNA is barely spanish...xD

  • It has been found that there are similarities in the genetics of the Taino people and the Guanche tribe of the Canary Islands, on the other side of the Atlantic. I think that this is evidence of survivors of the cataclysm of Atlantis because it would be illogical to say that a primitive society was able to travel more than 3000 miles across open ocean in canoes.

  • @imhighonhappy What a fool you believe in those myths that say that survivors of Atlantis and that Native Americans are descended from Atlanteans that's a lie Native Americans north and south america are all Mongoloid race as Asians came from asia Siberian and closely resemble the natives of Siberia (Siberian) and besides you not know the Tainos into large wooden canoes that could get 50 to 100 people within the Tainos were skilled navigators, but tell me how they left South America

  • @imhighonhappy to the I do not think flying Greater Antilles do not know the history ahahahah of your ancestors and so the Taino Arawak have gone to the Canary Islands in large canoes as they did in South America to the Greater Antilles (Puerto Rico) in even to the U.S. because in miami I also had Arawak tribes who still are their descendants and the Spanish and other European scientists have found that the Guanches and the Arawaks of america have the same blood type and the same ADN

  • @imhighonhappy as the indigenous Siberian (Siberia) and the Arawaks were the first inhabitants of the Canary Islands just that migrated to the Canary Islands and the Scandinavian Nordics Scandinavian tribes were in North Africa and mixing but still had the Spanish found Mongoloid physical features Guanches as the Tainos in port rich and oblique slanted eyes and black straight hair olive skin clear and coppery highlights cheekbones and a flat nose and short straight and upturned nostrils open

  • @imhighonhappy and the Spaniard themselves were surprised to see the resemblance of the Guanche Taino and other areas of the Canary Islands if there were more different q Guanches were like posible Scandinavians were the result of the Arawaks and the Scandinavians who came either from the northern areas of Europe or North Africa, but wrote that the Spaniard Tainos were even more beautiful as the Guanches Guanches also wrote that they were beautiful but the Tainos were earned in grace and beauty

  • @imhighonhappy and the Taino were beautiful and of infinite grace and beauty had infinite grace both the Tainos both men and women who fall in love the Spaniard lost their heads by the Taino

  • taino from dominican republic

  • whats the name of the taino leader

  • spanish bastards

  • @IronGuy100 even if i have spanish blood in me i hate what the spanierd did to the early taino but the taino today still exist i got taino in me as well

  • @IronGuy100 You're insulting Hispanics by insulting one part of their lineage

  • LMAO HAHAHA

  • i am ashamed to be Spanish when i hear of the things we did to those people. that was Genocide. im just glad we are nothing like dat today

  • it is silly to be "ashamed" that was FIVE centuries ago. it would be a different story if you were doing these things today. You can't hold yourself or anyone else accountable for things you had NOTHING to do with. That's like all Germans feeling "ashamed" for the holocaust. YES, they should regret that ugly history, but people that were not alive then have NOTHING to apologize for UNLESS they do the same thing today.

  • @SebastianQuinsella

No it isn;t. it can still feel ashmed of my countrys actions. i praise what my country do. so i can also condemn it. i dont believe it hiding from the truth. morals are morals..and what we did was wrong and out of league with my morals so i am ashamed at the actions of my Nation as i cannot be Proud..that part of our history obviosuly makes me Sad such things happend..

  • sebastian you real y really REEEAAALLLYYY need to shut the fuck up because you are a tupid a fucking idiot who knowsnothing about history. first of all in recent dna studies funded by us national board of science, because of dna testng, 61% of puerto ricans have taino mdna. secondly, how would you know that they are not native? thirdly fast majority are mixed, almost every pr even white skinned are at least 1% mixed. so once again stfu you know nothing, and you got thumbs down :D.

  • sorry for some of the spelling my keyboard was messed up. i meant to say stupid.

  • gt4, if 1% makes you Taino what does that other 99% make you? Times up!

It makes you a 100% fake Taino

  • @SebastianQuinsella stupid ass fuck, who said anything about 1% taino you dumbtard? I said a fast majority of the pr population are at least 1% or more mixed which means even the whitest puerto rican can have black somewhere in his family blood stream. plus obviously you cant read, i never said i was taino or pr, all i said was 61% of volunteers in pr in recent dna testing suggest taino ancestry you idiot, just remember that spanish men never brung women before the africans were introduced.

  • grand theft auto? are you for real?

leave the ghetto, grow up and open a book you stupid ass. i don't need an idiot in YT telling me my history on the Island.

    que verguenza pendejo.

  • sebasfag are you for real? leave the stupidity and made up stories and go fuck yourself and die ok? you need to open a book that doesnt tell faretales you dumbass. i dont need a stupid ass 1st grader telling me about MY history on that island.

  • btw sebasfag your a stupid ass douche go fuck your moms dick and die hahahahahaha !

  • gta, you are the typical YT racist fool...isn't time for you to feed your pitbulls and beat your ho?

  • @SebastianQuinsella who cares who's Taino and whos not? As long as your proud of who you are and where you came from thats what matters. Italians don't call themselves Romans anymore but that dosn't mean they can't be proud of their rich heritage and history

  • @jondelos Yes but you wouldn't exist. The natives died. End of the story.

  • que chorro de acomplejados buscones.

    how do you spell:

    TAX-FREE CIGARETTES

    TAX-FREE LIQUOR

    TAX-FREE GASOLINE

    TAX-FREE CASINOS

    TAX-FREE "SOVEREIGN" STATUS

Pathetic nativist bullshit promoted by 3rd rate "taino" scholars in Ivy League schools. What a joke.

Ni una gota de verguenza tienen

  • ...well thatst ur opinion and ur ideas ...u guys believe. something is just a fantacy... why u wanna be something ur not ...Enrique was one the last tainos in make a revol..so after that is all history ....

No traten de seguir una raiz que no a crecido o germinar una semilla que no se aplantado ...si no tienen identidad busquense otra y no se guillen de ser algo que no son ..

  • Being happy about being a Taino is being happy about a bread crumb. How did these natives get to these lands. When you find this out then your find out who you really are. Why did Columbus bring Luis De Torres with him. The whole world knows who we truly are but our people are happy with crumbs. The truth will set you free. All the rejection and lies of the truth can't stop the times.

  • I'm guessing then that the domenicans are related to the Boricuas. And the boricuas are related to the south americans.

  • yey the taino ppl

  • Besides most Puerto Ricans here in NY that I know are very proud of their Taino roots. Many of them have high cheekbones and straight hair.

  • dont get me wrong i know its has already been proven that taino dna still exist but just havin "high cheekbones and straight hair" really doesnt mean anything, when they tested people in PR they tested people with only indian features and no not everyone with those features had taino dna,,which goes to show it doesnt matter about what ppl look like,u personally should take a dna test than u could claim whatever u want ,,until then features alone have proven not to matter

  • I know, but I go by what my PRican friends tell me. This girl tells me her ancestors are Taino. Most PRicans tell me that. All I can do is believe.

  • im boricua also,,and believe me every one of us say we are but the cold fact is not all of us are,i LOVE my people, but half the time most of us are just sayin that,,i know the whitest lookin to the blackest lookin boricuas who still say they are 50% indian which is bull,,but then again pretty much everyone does it,,,example how many blond hair blue eyes "cherokee" people do u know ya know what i mean, the bottom line is most think they are but all are not

  • coupleofburps,

Be careful what you believe or you'll go to Disney land and believe that sharks actually talk and mice actually dance with each other.

  • What do you have against Natives? All the Puerto Ricans I have mentioned are extremely good looking people and probably owe that to Taino blood. That's what makes PRicans different and more exotic and beautiful than Cubans and Dominicans (at least in my opinion). I don't just say that because I am also part native (Spaniard and Inca mix from Peru).

  • coupleofburps, i don't have anything against natives. However, today we are seeing an onslaught of FAKE natives, especially in YT vids who are NOT native, but are here pretending to be Tainos. Maybe that's fine with you, but I find it offensive to the memory of the DEAD natives whose story is being reduced to stereo-types and jokes and acomplejados brincando y saltando como Hopi, Apache and Comanche. This is an insult. Today there are more "Tainos" in the Bronx than EVER lived in Puerto Rico.

  • That's "beers" to you, not "burps", please. I would love to send you pictures of some of my Puerto Rican friends with strong indigenous features. There is nothing wrong with being proud of one's heritage. How do you know they're not Taino? What is an average Puerto Rican supposed to look like? The Puerto Rican people range from blonde and blue-eyed to African-looking blacks. There are no pure Tainos in PR but some come close.

  • beers---1,

I know very well what PRs look like. In parts of the island where slavery existed(coastal cities), there are blacks, mixed & whites. In the center of the island (settled by by strict Spanish decree in the mid to late 1800s), WHITES are clearly the majority & you will see VERY few mixed or blacks.

  • beers---2,

The problem is that many of the PRs that migrated to the States lost their REAL history and have been culturally hijacked by black American political hucksters. And NOT knowing their real history fell for the afro-centric crap they were told. This brainwash has grown to include the FAKE "neo-taino" identity that you see in YT.

  • beers---3,

What has also happened is that in the case of the "mixed" & black Puerto Rican, there is still a very strong ANTI-black cultural sentiment(silent for the most part) & not wanting to be "black",they now opt for the "sexiness" of Taino. You will seldom find a white Puerto Rican (though I have met a few of these clowns) jumping with peacock feathers in his ass & in a polyester loin cloth into a steaming pile of horse shit on 5th Avenue in the PR Day parade. It is a sad mess.

  • @SebastianQuinsella taino arawak are far more beautiful and exotic that niggers hahahahahahahaha

  • @mariaesperanzalopez Stop your self hating mentality, you PRs are more spanish and african than taino genetically! go look it up lmao!

  • @XxKillerteddybearsX3 no baby, Puerto Rico is very different from Haiti, Dominican Republic and Cuba, we are more Caucasian Spaniard, other Caucasian and Mongoloid Taino, we are mixed (mestizos) but not niggers like the others, niggers is true but there is not much like the rest of the Greater Antilles and the Lesser Antilles,61% of PRs come from a Taino mother according to our genetics, stupid

  • @mariaesperanzalopez yea, according to studies the average autosomal test show that puerto ricans are on average 55% european 32% african and 17% taino, u fucking prick! most of your food and music is african influenced! lmao, if you don't like how puerto rico is african influenced than you can go fuck your self. go join or go start a nazi movement. i dare you u fucking white cracker! lets see how the dark skinned PRs will treat your paley ass, lmao!

  • @XxKillerteddybearsX3 a worldwide example of a Puerto Rican mestizo is jennifer lopez (J.lo) Taino Indian blood and Spaniard Mediterranean European blood ............. or you'll also say that Jennifer Lopez is nigger hahahahaha fuck u

  • @XxKillerteddybearsX3 reed these ignorant stupid, Arawak (aka Taino, the Antillean Arawak) arrived in Americas in same routs when other native roots had arrived, following the animals, coming from central Asia. They settled in a large area that contained parts of Andes of Peru, Amazon forest, Orinoco Basin region (present Peru, Colombia, Venezuela, Guyana) and islands of Caribbean, as Puerto Rico. The border of this native root were Jê, Carib and other races, several wars. Ignorant stupid

  • @coupleofbeers31 Not true. It's because Puerto Ricans and Hispanics in general are mixed.

  • just like in puerto rico

  • I don't know why everyone is getting on my case about Taino ancestry, as if having African ancestry is better. I am not defending one race or another. Another example is Jimy Smits. Puerto Rican people are gorgeous, and the Taino descended ones in my opinion are very beautiful.

  • coupleofburps, Jimy Smits is a major fake. His mother is from Puerto Rico of unknown descent, BUT his father is of mixed European and Indian descent from Surinam. He just trades on being Porto Rican cause it got him into an Ivy league school and lots of token stereo-type parts in hollywood. not much demand for /1/2 Surinamese fakes with German surnames in affirmative action or 3rd ghetto sagas.

  • Whatever he did he's an amazing person. Not only is he a successful actor but he knew how to play the Hollywood game. Not bad for a "major fake", huh? His father is white I believe, and Smits is Dutch, not German. His mother is a Native Puerto Rican.

I never said Native Puerto Ricans were a HUGE influence. Obviously the biggest influence in Puerto Rico is Spaniard, French, other European, and African. Very similar to Cuba. However, native blood is rare in Cubans and common in PRicans.

  • how is jimmy smits a fake, bcoz he says hes puerto rican even tho hes only half? Does that mean chris brown is also a fake bcoz he probably considers himself black even tho hes half white(his mother). is barack obama a fake bcoz he calls himself african american even tho his mother was also white? Is Benjamen Bratt a fake bcoz his mother is a native indian from peru and his father is white, and he calls himself latino and plays a mexican character in the movie blood in blood out?

  • he's a fake because he has made his mark being a one-size-fits-all "LATINO" and never mentions his Surinam background...real enough?

  • ...and if that wasn't enough of his fakeness...he continues to make films of "latinos" as ghetto bottom-feeders who never leave the ghettos...real enough?

  • @coupleofbeers31 I just found out I have Taino/Arawak in my ancestry and I'm proud of it. Don't let em get ya down brother. I have African ancestry on my mother's side and Arawak on my Father's.

  • PR # 1...

  • Many Puerto Ricans still have American Indian features. Look at La India, J-Lo, Chayanne, they all have Taino features still. I know some Puerto Ricans who have distinct indigeous features in particular one girl I used to work with she had long black hair, slanted eyes, and reddish-brown skin, her parents are 100% Puerto Ricans and her father is Taino......

  • dominicans and cubans too ,some people say i got a few taino features (im dominican)

  • j-lo? chayanne? por favor

  • J-Lo and Chayanne don't look black at all. They have European roots, but not 100%. The other part must be Taino. J-Lo has high cheekbones and straight hair, and olive skin. Chayanne and Erik Estrada definitely have Indigenous roots, since both don't look black at all but don't look 100% white.

  • PARTE 1 I've read your comment but unfortunate I disagree. We must have in mind that most of the traits that we consider as indigenous in Puerto Ricans are really "mulato", the mix between an African and a Spaniard. Of course, there are Taíno genes among some Puerto Ricans but taking history as a fact won't lead us to conclude the existence of Taíno's people in modern society. A fact is that Boricuas also came from Andalusia. A territory with more than eight hundred years...

  • People from Spain don't look Arabic, though. I haven't been to Spain but Spaniards I have seen look very different from Arabs. Spaniards tend to have straighter hair and more European features than Arabs. Yes, there are many in Spain with darker skin, but you can always tell them apart from Palestinians or Morrocans. As for J-Lo, she comes from some type of mix, and yes, she is mostly of Spanish (from Spain) descent, but I think the other part of her mix is Indian rather than African.

  • this is cool and educational thanx ! :)

  • The "National Indigenous Festival" (Festival Nacional Indígena) which honors the memory of Hayuya and the Taino heritage is celebrated annually on November in the town of Jayuya, Puerto Rico. This year will take place on November 19-22, 2009 making it the 40th year of this festival. There is a monument of Hayuya, the only one of its kind to be dedicated to a Taino Cacique, located in Jayuya's Cultural Center next to a Taino tomb.

  • oh yea cree native lady also mentioned she mixed with Taino in her bloods...all of us who took dna tested already seen on this paper's list of races trust me caribbeans some of them are mixed.

  • really? explain this to me why Dna tested shown some ricans has Taino native mixed in our bloods? even my granma look very strong native even some my family look much native appearances than i am....ur dumb for listening white people's side story of lies about exterminated or extinction especially a guy who posted this video he is mohawk mixed with Taino native in his bloods on his mother side is rican and on his dad side is mohawk of 6 nation from kahnawake rez.....

  • these are real borinques not the people that now is from puertorico...most of tainos were exterminated by the españoles (spanierds) aprox 99% thats the reason why the people from the caribe look different from the other country's of south and central america because cuban, dominican R,Puerto r.are not a mixed with native people they are mostly blacks, white spanish, and other races from europe and asia but from this i will say a 2% never mind u pure!

  • @calerometra A census in 1514 found

that 40 percent of the officially recognized wives of Spanish men were Taina. The 1778 census recorded thousands of full-blood Natives, many living in the remote mountain regions of central Puerto Rico such as "Las Indieras." After 1800, the Indian category was dropped from the census, forcing native people to be reclassified into other racial categories.

  • kingstaffy, and does your "research" conveniently OMIT the wave after wave of Europen immigration to PUerto Rico, particularly in the 1800s when WHITE, CATHOLIC immigration ONLY was allowed?

FACT: More White Europeans immigrated to Puerto Rico than the number of Tainos EVER lived on the island!

Probably just forgot that "inconvenient truth"?

  • @calerometra dont believe everything u read in the history books. the story by white/spanish conquerors that most of the taino indians were exterminated/killed is very hard to believe. it is more likely that the spanish men had babies with the taino women and the children(mestizo) were classified as white/spanish, so eventually it seemed like the entire taino population was extinct. That's not true, u can definitely see native indian features on puerto ricans

  • Yep, very true. Like I said, look at the following people: Elvis Crespo, Chayanne, La India, Jennifer Lopez, Erik Estrada, Jimmy Smits, Michael DeLorenzo. And plenty of my Puerto Rican friends here in New York City. They have American Indian features. Not pure, but it's there. Taino blood lives on in at least 35-40% of Puerto Ricans. Hell, like 75-80% of white gringo Americans have Cherokee or some other Amerindian lineage, even if just a little.

  • go fuck you you dont know shit most puerto ricans are mixet with taino you dont know shit and go and read the DNA TEAST THAT RUN THROW PUERTO RICO

  • btw my hair is dark black and almost straight u cant see behind the back of my head hair long one even my family has straight jet black hairs not like black ppl sorry, i suggesting u to take the damn dna test and look at it..if u dont have native american on that dna's list paper then ur aint Taino unless theres native american on the list then ur mixed blood....dont trust too much on history on papers n shits man
