However, Jack's Mannequin was started due to Andrew writing a few songs that did not fit into the SoCo style. One of them, entitled Dear Jack, is the inspiration for the name of the group. The album and the entire sound is based on a touring band that returns home after a long time away. Him being diagnosed with Acute Lymphobastic Leukemia did not occur until a few months before the record was released.

He got leukemia and had a stem cell transplant and can't fly or travel because his immune system start over and he can really sick, he has to go to the doctors like once a month for check ups. that was like a year ago so i think hes better now, meaning leukemia free.
