  • Fitforafeast! When I'm practicing my bandbend with the wall, i feel like im gonna fall because a lot of my weight goes on my arms which makes me stand up so i wont fall.. i also dont have a spotter to help me while do my "backbends" with the wall and without the wall, i sometimes hit my head or get really scared... HELP?!

  • @leannele333 try lying on the floor & pushing up into a bridge - build up your strength doing bridges & you will build your confidence

  • @leannele333 i sometimes have the same problem. make your hands sticky with something, or exercise to make them sweat, so you'll have more of a grip. then you have to just be brave and confident!

  • @sugerray7 this is back flexibility - splits are legs. Having a spotter is always a good idea when you are learning

  • I can rock back and forth for the bridge but I never have enough power to kick over. I can do it off of a bed or the wall but not a pillow or stuff like that. can you make a tutorial on a bridge kickover?

  • Ok thank you I only can put my hands next to my ears and push me up into the bridge like that but I couldn't do a backbend I'm to scared when I do it I'll probably just fall on my head and back and this will hurt badly :(

  • @blackshadow567able bridges do stretch the back - move your feet closer to you then further away when you are in the bridge & you will feel it

  • @macjones2001 try having your feet higher up (like on a couch) and push up into a bridge (best to have a spotter) Try kicking over when your feet are higher - it is usually easier - then you can keep making that lower & lower

  • @doggielover3001 i asked my dad to hold his hand on my back while I bent over, but not to do anything unless i fell. when you go back, just look for the ground and put your hands on it. it's actually not that hard. :)

  • I practice parkour and free running, and some of these gynastic movements are also incorpored to the Free running.

    I'm always watching videos of how to do aerials and this stuff and they never say what you have to train first to be able to do that movement.

    You girls make it so easier teaching these exercises. XD

    I hope I get flexibility enough to help me with tricks, mortals and parkour ;p

  • @yochbffs123 you might be naturally flexibile - see if you are sore tomorrow LOL - you will get better with practice then can try using less & less with the wall and do it on your own

  • I would suggest voicing over rather than saying everything while your doing the positions, because your voice might sound tired or strained at certain positions......

  • I have a friend who wants to start but she's 19, she wants to know if she's too late? she used to do gymnastics when she was younger and continued off and on but hasn't done it since she was in 8th grade.

  • @cupidgurl15 it does help - do it to get more flexilbe & the feel of a backbend - then try to do one going as far as you can without the wall - try to use the wall less & less each time

  • @cupidgurl15 Definitely not too old. Find an adult class at a local gym. We have a lot of people in my class who haven't done gymnastics since elementary school and many who are brand new to the sport. It's never too late to start.

  • The trick that helps me the most is to go down as slow and controlled as possible. Also, as they mentioned in the video, look at your hands while you lower yourself down.

  • It's easier for me to do a backbend on my bed so that way if I fall on my head it won't hurt me

  • @PrincessMonmonmizati A way to start beginning and practicing is to, for starters, always have a spotter, be stretched, and has a soft surface.

    The way i got my backbend was by practicing outside on a hill. The hill made the surface that i would catch my self on easier and closer. You can also do this by standing with your back facing a couch and just bending over. Once you feel you've mastered that, try making yur elevations for backbands more difficult till u can do it!

    Ya when i do this my back hurts so i go down onto my knees and do a bridge motion and then stand up into a bridge! try that hope it helps

  • hey i practiced that on wall but i have a wall that is a size to my should to the other but i slide down it until the time is to touch the ground. oh what gymnastics do guys go to im trying to convince my mom and dad to go to one and proving it is a good thing to do as any age.

  • @harleyvs0709 you can do push ups & chin ups for arm strength. We also have a newer vid out with backbend kickovers, plus our walkover vids, which have extra tips
