  • Video was uploaded in 2006, and if not mistaken, the final four started hearing All Along the Watchtower at the end of season three, in 2007.

Two ways this goes down. 1: RDM saw this vid...

2: You, usmc1944, are the harbinger of death, and will lead humanity to it's end.

Seriously, how the fuck did you do that?!

  • @Alex112286 -- usmc1944 is, most obviously, a cylon. Or an angel, blazing with the Light of God! ;-)

  • Drop a capital ship in atmosphere, launch all fighters and jump away......i think is the most EPIC sci-fi spaceship action i ever see!

  • I got to meet the science adviser for BSG!

  • @marinmaker wow nice dude. What did you learn? How did he help make the show?

  • @420Rokn ...he was the science advisor. he told them if the things they had in the script were realistic, thats why this show actually has a ton of science behind it (obviously aside from FTL and artificial gravity)

  • After the sacrifice of the Pegasus, the last Battlestar, Galactica, leads a rag-tag fugitive fleet on a lonely quest... a shining planet known as Earth.

  • Find THAT move in a textbook!

  • This is how the kind of blaze of glory the Normandy needs in Mass Effect 3.

  • @GangsterHutterite Yes, without the blowing-up part. A few too many thousand Reapers to be doing that all the time. Shepard dies again = Kind of lame, amirite?

  • Adama: Here's the plan. We will ride this 1.5 kilometer long hunk of metal into the planet's surface, launch all our vipers as while burning up, burrow a hole through the universe to get back into orbit, and then take on the remainder of the Cylon fleet within the next few minutes thereby allowing all of humanity to escape from the surface of the planet. Any questions.

    *Crewman raises hand*

    Adama: What?

    Crewman: FRAK!

  • I didnt watch this series much, but did they go all the way back to the colonies then?

  • @TheFewzz

Stupid idea and no. The colonies got nukes all over and the radiation makes it impossible to live on.

  • At least the song has something to do with BSG, unlike all those other crap vids

  • Dropping a ship the size of an aircraft carrier onto a city... I don't think there's a standard measurement to determine the size of Bill Adama's brass balls.

  • @raynelycan

USS Nimitz aircraft carrier = 400m/0.4km

    Battlestar Galactica = 1700m/1.7km

A little bigger then that, actually.

  • @raynelycan Actually, the ship is the size of several aircraft carriers put together. The Galactica is 1438 meters long. Almost a mile.

  • @raynelycan try about 100 nimitz supercarriers. that's about the size comparison 5 times longer, higher, wider = 125 times one nimitz.

  • @kkksskkk All in all, that's one HUGE frakin ship!

  • @raynelycan I found a size comparison between the Galactica and a NIMITZ class carrier, Galactica's engines were the size of 4 carriers EACH! Galactica itself could hold about 34 Nimitz class carriers! That being said, Adama had balls the size of that ship!

  • This series has completely ruined science fiction and a great Bob Dylan song. Nice going, Ronald D. Moron and all his mindless fans.

  • @williamskidfears Shut the fuck up, and fuck off troll. Please don't come here, to a place where BSG is well liked, and spout your aggravating [bullshit] thoughts. Keep them to yourself, rather than waste other's time reading your comments.

  • @SatanicFudgeo My speech is just as free as yours, you cocksucking al-Qaeda whore. And, I'll go where I damn well please, No terrorist piece of shit like you is gonna stop me,

If you wanna try, come down to Oklahoma, and I'll give you liberty in every blow, bitch!

  • @williamskidfears Dude go fuck yourself... Battlestar was one of the greatest sifi serious ever i mean ya it was dragged out and ya i had 2 slow serious but man it is better then any other thing u can make, so shut the fuck up and stop trolling.

  • ugh, I can't watch this with the horrible background music!

  • BSG. the only show that could make a 100000 ton ship falling look bad ass.

  • All hands brace for turbulence !

  • 2:34 on was by far way way WAY to cool! Thumbs up!

  • most badass INTRO, LAUNCH AND EXIT EVER!!

  • Now THAT is what you call an air drop!

  • SO SAY WE ALL

  • I love how there is no fat chicks in BSG

  • @Quincy111

50,000 people trapped in tin cans in space for 4 years, and the last 2 of them all they had to eat was processed algae. See how much you like eating THAT. And Lee got fat, but that was 9 months in, and they still had real food left.

Some people asked something similar about Lost: "Why is there a fat guy on LOST? They're castaways!?" The answer is because the show takes place in 3 months time, and they found more food. So he is still fat. And the coolest dude on the island. Or ever.

  • This cliche tripe of slapping semi-relevant songs onto great clips has to stop; it is unoriginal, uninspired and irritating. It would've been much more effective to hear the audio (sound FX's, music, acting) than a classic rock song that's only slightly less played out than "Stairway to Heaven".

Also, I can't believe this is what people rave about. I saw stuff that looked just as compelling and relevant back in the '90's with Babylon 5. This show ripped off B5 in a big bad way.

  • @PaladinHero

Battlestar Galactica is a rip off of B5? Are you fucking retarded? You obviously don't know shit about tv other wise you wouldn't of made such a dumb ass statement! This show ( the original series ) was on LONG before B5 was even a fart in the wind. BSG was originally on in the 70's and this was a remake of it and much better remake. So before you go spewing something else stupid. Look your facts up.

  • @RGMerkel First of all, it's "look up your facts"; don't split your verb phrases.

Second, you're right and wrong: BSG was a show on in the '70's (with a mercifully short-lived sequel in 1980). I saw every episode as a kid thanks to the Sci Fi Channel, so I'm well aware of your melodramatic overly serious pretentious show's source material. When I say BSG is a rip off of B5--and it is--I'm talking about this remake. Sometimes you BSG fans can't see the light for the anus enveloping your head.

  • @PaladinHero And they ripped it off poorly too.

  • Adama manuever, FTW!

  • no shit...that's the best moment EVER....i was shocked...BSG is truly one of the best shows ever

  • @darkroxas25

Remember, according to the retard Paladinehero. It's a cheap rip off of B5.

  • @RGMerkel I never said it was cheap, intellectually/creatively cheap maybe now that I think about it, but not financially cheap.

I wonder what could have you so irrationally invested that you're willing to insult someone for not respecting it. Could it be that your life is empty and you overly identify with an expensive TV show that stole-then-synthesized most of its salient aesthetic design choices from other shows and games? Could it be that you should be sterilized for humanity's sake?

  • @RGMerkel Also, you could learn to spell my name right.

  • Great video. The CGI's on BSG are the best on the business. Those who don't what CGI means C: Computer G:Genrated I: Imagaine.

  • Just post the frakin clips....that's what we want.

  • Sbilfer eres un despropósito. No tienes ni puñetera idea. Ha acertado tanto en el tema como con las imágenes, si no te gusta no lo veas, pero ¡CÁLLATE!

  • I have looked for a version without the music spoiling the clip. This is the the only clip where the music is appropriate to the series.

    Providence....without a doubt, providence.

  • whats the sound track?

  • Yes, Galactica coming down on New Caprica to launch Vipers is one of the most incredible and inspiring moments in television history. Thanks for sharing such a great video!

  • LMAO, seeing Galactica jumping in and then out like that. Talk about "coming in hot." No shyt, hold on to ya @ss Fred! Express elevator to Hell, going doooooownnnn!!!!!!!!BTW, Hendrix, solid man fugging solid, Semper Fi DevilDog.

  • I really enjoyed this episode with galactica's plunge into and jump out of the atmosphere. I like the James Marshal hendrix song and if you ever go to the rock and roll museum in cleveland, i hope thye still ahve the permanenet exposition to this rock / guitar master as it is was really good. if you are not much into hendrix lsiten to his song" are you experienced" its fantastic and the riff in the middle

  • When they lost the Pegasus I almost began to sob. I loved that great ship.

  • @skinhead5 Militaraly it seemed absurd to sacrifice the Pegasis when she was the bigger and vastly more powerful of the two Battlestars

  • Love it when the Viper pilot, (cant remember his name) is about to launch out the tube,

    "Well this is different" xD

  • @BensoftMedia my name for him is "adama's son"

  • RIP Pegasus. Awesome show :)))

  • Thats tight ! , how Pegasus came to the rescue as Jimi yells out "all along the watchtower" ! Sent chills down my spine and goose bumps on my arms !

  • how's that time machine treating ya?

  • does anyone know the name of the patriotic sounding song that was played at the end of exodus part 2

  • The colonial anthem?

  • @squeezybox

    its not lol

  • always loved the fighter pilot aspect of this show. Great all around though

  • the galactica dropping through the atmosphere was certainly one of the greatest scenes i've ever seen in any show or movie. unbelievably badass.

  • @whythismom ya the only part of that show that i liked. i saw that and said to myself lets give shis show a chance then i saw an episode or 2 and dident watch another

  • @trebot9292266 Why? I don't know what your tastes in entertainment are but I find it hard to believe that anyone could actually dislike this show.

  • @Bionicraft1 it just dont catch my eye. Sgu is like a better version of this

  • @trebot9292266 sgu is brilliant but nothing cna mach bsg trust once u whach them all urell love it

  • @whythismom dude i know, shit was so sick

  • roll on caprica!!

  • SO SAY WE ALL

  • Whoa it's eerie that you used this song before you knew it would play such a huge part in the show. That's pretty awesome.

  • All of this has happened before, and it will happen again...

  • damn, Battlestar Galactica and Pegasus take one hell of a beating. Damn i love this show!!!

  • "adama maneuver".........jump into the atmosphere......

  • when we get out there into deep space will we find the lost colonys man and settle there on caprica and kobol and meet the cylons of old.

Or are we damed to relive the horrors of a cylon A.I genocide here on our very own earth and repat it all over as then?

    o

  • haha, I guess only time will tell.

  • a great vid, well done

  • I love this song! Awesome video!

  • Love this video...songs awesome!!! Man...I wish they would've made a prequel series of the '1st Cylon War' instead of the stupid Caprica idea. Their won't be any space battles or anything that I loved from the B/G series on the new series. The worst part is I'm going to miss the Military soldiers, the and bad ass dog fights and just plain old Cylon ass kicking...sucks!

  • BSG is awsome, but I would not watch it if the space battles was all it had.

  • After seeing "Battlestar Galactica: The Plan" a series revolving around Anders and his resistance fighters on Caprica would be bad ass.

  • true, but there isn't much more of a story to be told. there are only a couple of months between the attack and the time he meets up with Starbuck, and BSG the Plan gave us the basic idea abouut how that all goes. The only room for moor story is what Anders did after Starbuck and Helo went back to Galactica, but before Anders gets rescued in Lay Down Your Burdens Part II, but some of that is also shown in The Plan. I suppose another series of webisodes for it would be cool, though.

  • CAPRICA is pretty awsome. It is not the same kind of story, It is a different kind of science fiction. It is more like FRANKINSTIEN meets THE GOD FATHER. But I tell you one thing ..the U-87 is one heck of a machine... way cooler looking than the other ones because you can actually see that it could actually be real... can't wait till they start mass producing them and they start going nutz.

  • @oxjr The Godfather? That's so racist against Taurons. Way to stereotype us as all a bunch of gangsters. Just you wait, you're gonna wake up with a horse-head in your bed.

  • it wasnt anything that couldnt be fixed if you look closely well, up until the point where they rammed. but im starting to see a reoccurring theme with daddy and son ramming their ships into shit lol

  • I don't get it.

how can the pegasus the critically hit so quickly?

i mean galactica took fire from three basestars.

  • i really dont think it was, I think Lee had to choose between the Galatica and Pegasus, and he choose Galatica

  • that was a bad choice to sacrify the Pegasus. Galactica was obsolete and got badly hit during this attack. But the name of the series is BS Galactica, that's the only reason why they sacrified that wonderful ship, A LOT better than Galactica

  • Because A/ Pegasus only had about 40 crew members aboard, not enough to navigate, maneuver and fight at the same time. B/ The Directors wanted Pegasus to go out with a bang before it became Battlestar Pegasus instead.

  • OMG stop putting music soundtracks over the show audio. Good song, but it was horrible with this video, couldnt take more than 10 seconds of this crap

  • @usmc1944 well i'm on his side of the fence in regards to crap combo's

  • @usmc1944 He did get 19 thumbs up.

  • no, we're ALL like this. We don't want music videos.

  • @usmc1944 no actually most of the people who say stuff like that get around atleast half the thumbs up then the people who say good song cause its true i hate it when people do that when its a good episode

  • @usmc1944 I'm sorry, but you do actually need to suck a testicle for destroying this

  • Did you forget about the episode that had this same song playing over the big battle? Did you forget how epic that was? I think you did.

  • @sbilfer Can't agree with you there. I thought this was very well done. It also pissed me off to no end, everytime I heard the new eastern-style All Along the Watchtower song. SO glad to finally have the Jimi Hendrix version playing over BSG.

  • @BenofLaMancha Hell f<@k yeah , that eastern-style ain't got shit on Jimi's version ! Thank you Bob Dylan & R.I.P. Jimi !

  • @sbilfer Agree music soundtracks over the skow is just to much sometime..but youtube takes down the actual show due to copyright bs..though this clip is cool

  • @sbilfer you do know that this is the most famous version of a song that is part of the BSG soundtrack, right?

  • @Voyksed

True, but most of us just wanna see the scene as it was seen and heard on tv. God forbid we want it that way!

  • @RGMerkel might be true, but then only a tiny minority of us all do take the time to upload the videos you want to see, and most of those who upload want to make some kind of personal editing... the solution is: grab a full copy of the episodes of the show and enjoy it.. or, even better, upload pieces without changing the audio.

  • @sbilfer I agree. It makes it impossible to properly convey the scenes in question when showing videos to others

  • @sbilfer Are you kidding me, this song was a perfect fit for these scenes. Plus He put this together before the Bear version aired in the series. This is an incredible fan tribute, not a verbatim bunch of clips from the show. I think this is the best one out there, bar none...Cheers @ usmc1944...you rock!

  • @sbilfer

I'm with you, man. To many people do this thinking they are some how making it better. Good job fucking up a good show with music ( let the music in the show do the work for you )

  • @sbilfer

STOP watching the show here then, buy the fracking DVD'S!!!

Easily the best fan vid for BSG, THIS VID ROCKS...

  • @sbilfer have you seen the whole series because if you have youd understand why this song is in here its makes more sense

  • @sbilfer dude this song he put to it was a major part of the BSG plot in seasons 3 and 4. thats why he put it there

  • @sbilfer Dude, this is a BSG song. lol

  • @sbilfer You fucking idiot. Did you not recognize the song? It's Jimmy's original version of "Watchtower", a plot-critical song which a season and a half of fucking Galactica revolved around. I found the way usmc1944 worked it into the video to be pure brilliance, and I appreciate that he used the original version as opposed to the Galactica remix. Really gives a unique flavor to the whole thing. Kudos, usmc1944, and fuck all these other imbeciles.

  • @HeirOfTheChronicler what is really amazing is that this monatge was made by usmc1944 with this song a few weeks after Exodus part 2 aired but months before any bob dylan cover was used i the show at the end of season 3

  • @tomglima yes that he explains why he used it!!!!

  • @cmsahe yeah but this video came out more than half a year before all along the watch tower was used in the show

  • @tomglima that's what I meant! Why did he use All Along the Watch Tower, before it appeared in the show? It's an interesting mystery! Please usmc1944 (or should I say Ronald D. Moore? :P )

  • @sbilfer Agreed, I watched it about ten times right after it happened.. :)

  • Brilliant syncing at 2:50

  • This is probably the best BSG video on youtube thats fan edited with music. Nice job!

  • Endding of the series almost made me cry

  • that was the coolest scene ive ever seen in bsg in my opinion, i watch it over and over sometimes, with the battlestar falling then jumping.

  • wow, you must have been shocked when you found out that this song was used on the show four months after you posted the video (albeit a slightly different version, but still)

  • AWESOME VIDEO! GREAT! JUST SAW EXODUS PT 1+2 AGAIN! GREAT LUV IT

    ADAMA ADAMA ADAMA!!!! (almost cried!)

  • Wow dude did you ever realized they actually used All Along the Watchtower for Crossroads?

  • ive been tryin adding the suffix "&fmt=18" to all the urls of my fav bsg vids, and they really do work!!!!

    higher quality picture & sound

fantastic video!!! good audio editing between the song and the show's audio

  • What I don't get is that all the Cylons heard this song, so I thought that it was being broadcast from Earth, but the series finale led me to believe differently, unless the song was only then reaching that point in the universe?

  • I don't get it though. On the outside the Pegasus looked like it was definately in good enough shape to jump. It was like on the inside everything was on fire but on the outside there was almost no damage...

  • the pegasus was in no shape to jump, just look at the clip right before it hits the base star, and look at the top left of the hull, its ripped open and in flames, with that kind of damage you can assume most systems would be malfunctioning/not working properly/or completely shut down. Also the damage would have been extensive, 3 basestars were pounding her, and in the episode "captains hand" only 2 nukes were needed to take out the FTL, so these basestars could easily have done with missiles.

  • Yup it was on fire pretty bad in parts

  • could have been electrical fires on the inside. And I did see quite a bit of damage on the outside of the ship

  • What do you mean You don't think she shot down the first one? When the first few rockets hit it was like fireworks and then there was a huge explosion, and if that did not kill it the camera zooms in on Pegasus and you still see her firing her cannons at it and im sure that did the job! Great video!

  • Galactica falling through the atmosphere letting those vipers go is one of the best moments in television history.

  • they killed pegasus...bastards

    pegasus rocked

    so say we all =D

  • Yes, yes she did. BUT...if you have to go, that would be the way. Fighting till the bitter end, and taking some of them with you. Sad to see her go, but loved the way she went!

  • also, the pegasus was never intended to stay for the whole show after it arrived. As with the origional series, the pegasus was re-discovered, but after a couple of episodes was lost again (though it is unclear on if it was lost in the origional series) and yeah, it was one hell of a way to go, taking with her atleast 3 enemey base stars, two with the ramming and one with the opening salvo. No person could ask more of just one battlestar.

  • excellent footage and music!

    Hendrix is fracking awesome!

  • Frack!Thats a verry good video

  • Holy shit! Best 4 minutes of Galactica... Nice job! :)

  • think it was 3 in total that pegasus took out there with the flightdeck pod and the ship it self and the one it shoot to pieces :)

  • i dont think pegasus blew the first one up with its guns but heavily damaged it but hey good battle sequence anyway

  • cool video..one of the fav episodes

  • RIP Battlestar Pegasus. The ship that was so badass, it didnt even have to be in tact to destroy a Cylon basestar.

  • This episode had to have been my favorite.

  • LOL, Love the music, makes it seem like an old fashioned Vietnam movie

  • I remember seeing the part between 1.15 - 1.35 I was just in awe of that part. To amazing for words :P

  • this vid is kick-ass

but I wish you hadn't disabled the embedding, though

  • I dont know why before it wasnt allowed but now it is so there ya go!

  • thank you, I appreciate it

  • Greatest tv episode of anything I have ever seen, ever.

  • 1:15-1:35 wow.

  • Exodus Part II: the single greatest hour of television I have ever seen.

  • Ain't that the fucking truth. I've never seen anything more epic than that -- ultra badass.

  • Right on!

  • omg, she found earth! the 13:th colony!

  • Hey umm, i love this show but i dont nearly watch it enough to get anything out of it other than sweet space battles, could some1 reply to this and explain - is this the last season and whats the deal with starbuck finding a new planet or whatever that was about?

  • What may be the creepiest/coolest thing about this vid is that not only does it feature "All Along the Watchtower" a full *four months* before the song was ever used on the actual show, but the first four major characters we see are (you guessed it) Tori, Sam, Tyrol, and Tigh. Coincidence? Hmm... ;)

  • One of the best dramas on TV

  • BSG OWNS!!!

  • when the battlestar galactica jumps to caprica:

the most epic moment of the whole series :)

  • That part is purely kick ass. Such a memorable moment.

  • Two of the greastest SciFi shots off all time exist in this clip: the Galactica coming belly down into the atmosphere and jumping out and the death of the Pegusas.

  • could not agree more when Galactica came down i was like how freakin cool is that! even my friends who dont like sci-fi have seen that and ive been like..whoa

  • if you see the real ep it is just like this only it doesent have "all along the watchtower" but when pegases rams in to the base ship the music just turns you on

  • great vid!!!

specially love when the Galactica seems doomed nad out of nowhere comes the Pegasus to the rescue

  • if galactica was destroyed they would ahve to change the name to battlestar pegasus then

  • Not sure if you've had the pleasure of the end of Season 3... but they use a cover version of "All Along the Watchtower"... its great!

  • Wow. The Jimi Hendrix version works pretty nicely too. Maybe someone should try Bob Dylan too on one of these videos.

  • they are coming home.

    to earth.

  • QUESTION: To anyone out there in-the-know..Is BSG made in Canada? All the outside shots look like they were filmed in British Columbia and I think I can detect a Canadian drawl among many of the actors...If it IS a largely Canadian endeavor I must say my opinion of Canada is much improved...this whole show is truly a quality product...a TV show that will go down in history as one of the more remarkable ones.

  • the show is american based but the set and all the off ship scenes are pretty much filmed in canada good call by the way lol

  • tricia helfer is certainly Canadian, thats for sure, come to think of it so is boomer.

  • My brother was one of the animators when this episode was made (he's now on to other projects), working at Atmosphere Visual Effects in Vancouver BC.

Their team won an Emmy for this.

  • As others have posted, BSG was filmed largely in B.C. and many of the actors are Canadian. Michael Hogan (Tigh) has a definite Toronto accent (at least to my ears - I grew up very near Canada and watched Canadian TV all the time). I also hear Canadian English here and there as well from other Canadian actors on the show like Tricia Helfer and Grace Park.

I love Canada... great country, great actors, great shows and movies!

  • That's funny, because I never heard any n
