what kind of trees are those? Here in N. Calif, USA, we have a lot of evergreens and madrone, and in the city, Eucalyptus and a lot of Oak, which are often large, but not that tall.
@G3r4pro I'm guessing it's because sharp bends in chokers cables (rope) is very hard on them? My brother did a lot of logging, and said chokers are best for straight pulls, I've done a lot of Steel-iron hi-work. Chains at the load end are often the deal for that. If a choker breaks, you've now got a few hundred pounds of steel whipping around. Chains for the most part, just go limp, unless they're still attached to a falling load. But now someone on here will correct me, I'm sure.
Aye, me cousins to the south. Nice work. I don't use cranes as tall, nor trees. Are those largest trees of the eucalypus species? I liked the whole four minutes and twenty seconds.
I to have been doing the work for 26 years in Canada and i love seeing this kinda work. 60 Meters high. I am not to old or experienced to learn new things. I feel like a kid when its comes to machines...lol... keep it up.
You blokes inspire me. I've only been in this industry for 6 months and your videos make me want to this line of work for a long long time. Cheers Ace.
Thats a Fine Vid !, People have no idea the hazzard possibilities there are up that high, 20 feet or 180 feet up, the people that are paying for the removal, they always seem to think ( around here anyway ) it should be easy, you have a machine to do it with, why so much? I always respond with , Its not the machine doing it, its the people running the machines that are keeping the damn tree from falling on your house~! great vid, i always enjoy them,
Nice video. I saw it once before, but this time I watched it in 720 and full screen. Wow, what a difference. Make sure you turn up the quality of the video and enjoy. Really liked the music too. Great job. Would like to visit and climb with you boys sometime. I will release a rope rigging video within one week. Thanks for the original inspiration to do tree work videos!
Superb, just superb, Ace! As always! You guys rock! Wish I coulda made it down last July for the ISA conference. Was gonna come show you guys and Graeme how it's done....errrr....how we do it......LOL..As if!
Nice work. And you can't get much more of a dramatic title than Big Extreme Hazard Crane Tree Cutting.....without becoming redundant of course..... :-D
Another fist class video from you boys, having been climbing for 25 years, it is great to see continued professional workmanship like this and the extent of new equipment being used to do in minutes which use to take hours! Thanks for giving laymen an insight into a highly skilled and dangerous environment which can all to be readily undervalued.
The bass line of this song is the same as "The Gael" from The Last of the Mohicans. I don't know why I'm talking music on a forestry video. Awesome tree! How tall was it? You look like you're WAY THE HELL UP!
Not to put shit on you mate but why do you have the picker as well as a crane,I thought it was a little over kill considering you are a gun climber, apart from that mate unreal job keep the vids coming,
That man-lift is insane. I've never seen one go this high. That must be like 50 meters or something. It looks like it's going to tip over when it gets extended like that. Guess it's cool though. I sure wouldn't want to get up there. I hate the heights. Great vid!
@Afrikitty I am not sure.I'm from Quebec city Canada and discovered this song on the net. I must say on the album this is the only good song in my point of view.
