Hey your vegan?! It tastes pretty good when you add condiments(which Im pretty sure are also vegan). Did you avoid condiments for health reasons? Thats so lame, live a little lol! Good luck! You seem to have gotten smaller in your recent vids
@HappyCabbie I understand that:3 whatever works best.
I just thought maybe you'd get more hits for your videos if more people purely interested in this type of thing happened across SP page for it. Might help more people are something, but you're right. I'm sure people can pass links around just as easy, or just google and come across this.
I'm vegan, but never really got into the veggie burgers/dogs. Every now and then when I want that familiarity, I'll go for it, but not unless they are really on massive discount. Trader Joes used to have these little curried veggie patties, not a burger thing, but they were spicey and awesome. They also sell some great salsa authentica, enchiladas, and burritos--all vegan!
why is it rated 1 1/2 stars? its good, it shows that even people who eat out should make better decisiouse, and shit happycabbie i love you, and im soo proud of you for all your progress from being broke, doin great bro
Bananas are uber-awesome for you. Lots of vitamins and minerals and fancy stuff like that. Buuuuut, did you know bananas are great before bed? Apparently, bananas have the same chemical that turkeys have to make you sleepy!! So eat your banana before bedtime and you may just end up having a good night's sleep!
I was a vegetarian for a while also, trying to start again. if you are a McDonald's Big Mac fan, and want to try a veggie burger or are going vegetarian, try A Boca burger with lettuce, tomato, ketchup and mayonnaise. I like using whole wheat buns, it tastes way better than the real thing and healthier. i even made my mom, a proud meat eater, say so. Also Morning star has many other Vegetarian/vegan options.
You HAVE to try the Boca Chick'n patty! OMG it's like heaven! SOO good! And if you eat it on one of those half bun thingies (Arnold's Sandwich Thins) it's half the calories of a regular big ol burger. They are so good I don't even eat them with ketchup or mustard, just the patty, bread, mouth. lol Good luck on your diet! I'm trying to lose inches, and it's so hard because practically everything we eat is carbs :/
I tried subways veggiemax sandwhich yesterday. I think it was the best veggie sandwhich I tried so far, Im not sure if it was a soy patty or what but it was great.
I hope you have done the proper research into veganism before you do so entirely, only meat and dairy products are proper sources of B-12 and other vital nutrients.
My sister is vegan also and subway is her best fast food preference. They also have a complete chart of nutrition value for all of their sandwhiches and combo choices.
I should point out that the original BK Veggie - which was released in 2002 - was vegan. And then in 2004, BK struck a deal with Kellogg's to where BK would use Kellogg's Morningstar Frms soy-based veggie burger patties.
Plus if you're a vegan, keep in mind that the BK Veggie has dairy ingredients. Vegans looking for a vegan burger would be better off buying the vegan variety of Boca Burgers. They're pretty good.
But yeah, the BK Veggie is a better alternative to the whopper.
Being Vegan or Vegetarian, (*Here come the onslaught of argumentative and hateful comments- Sigh*),
is no guarantee of weight loss. Even though I am in the medical field, I'm not here to argue nutrition, but there are issues -pro/con.
Usually feeling 10-12 lbs overwieght, (but I'm obsessive), & having tried fads & strict regimes, when I did go vegetarian I actually was at my heaviest. Healthy balance works, detox your system esp. of art. sweeteners/MSG, eat lean meats & lots of veggies.
Yes they most likely are not vegan. However they are better than a cheeseburger. The point of the video was to provide awareness of healthier options when eating out. Now of course the best diet is found at the produce section of the grocery store but for many americans eating out is a regular routine. Especially going out with co-workers, friends, and family who may or may not be living a heathy lifestyle themselves.
i,ve eaten bk's veggie buurgers and they are too oily for me but some veggie burgers i like are boca and morningstar which u can find in most supermarkets good luck wit the diet
I prefer the Morning star mushroom lovers on a grill pan but my wife loves bocas. I just made the leap to somewhat a vegetarian diet but always ate different types of food when I was a meet eater.
Good luck cabbie I am currently 480 myself but find I am fuller on veggie burgs then real burgs although I am still very new so that might change :)
One thing I have found it took awhile to adjust to the reduction in calories. I used to consume almost a galon of soda a day and that is close to 2000 calories. So when I took that away it was hard to fight the hunger. My body has adjusted now.
I, like you, am trying to eat better. When you purchase food make sure it does not contain hydronated oils. You may not have to worry about it if you are becoming a vegan.
Also, those veggie burgers may be easy to chew but you swallowed pretty quickly. Chewing more will aid in digesting, allow you to savor the texture of the food, and provide sure signals to your brain that you are full.
Finally, getting a good nights sleep will also help in sheding pounds.
You are correct in that I eat my food way too fast. This unfortunately was how I was raised. If we wanted seconds in my family we had to eat what was on our plate first. So if you were the last to finish you probably did not get seconds. By going on a diet I am having to change the way I have lived for 30 years.
If you are going to quit, do it in style. Leave a legacy. Go in wearing a shirt and tie and boxershorts and throw confetti and yell I quit. Have a friend video tape it and post it to YouTube.
I do apologize prettyproblem16. My intention in making this video was to showcase alternatives when eating out. I did not mean to offend vegitarians. I am so sorry that this offended you. Perhaps my video Why Vegan might be a better alternative. Since posting this video I have lost 28 lbs and I will continue to loose more.
Sorry, i'm new to youtube and posting and stuff but anyway i din't mean to say "smuck u" to u i was saying that in response to this:
DingitDuck I'd rather have a Vaggie Burger than a Veggie Burger
I respect you and your efforts to become a vegan altough i'm 16 i've been a vegetarian for 4yrs and i'm also interested in becoming vegan anyway sorry for the confusion
Prettyproblem16 no problem. Dingitduck is a buddy of mine. He is a little bit of a perv but that is why we love him. I am glad that you are making healthy choices at such a young age. Had I done the same I wouldn't be this big. Basically to go from vegie to vegan involves giving up things like cheese and milk. Most give up honey as well but I still enjoy honey as an alternative to sugar.
I am wearing a cotton polo shirt with cotton pants with suspenders no belt. I wear sandles. Where did you see me wearing leather or other animal garments?
My comment was more or less just thrown out there - not directed your way at all. Personally,I found this hipocrisy among others a great deal when I tried it myself. Even if it's a choice purely health relaated, IMH, I think it should be embraced as an entire lifesstyle, not simply a 'diet'.
Again, the comment was in general, not directed twoards yourself in the slightest
What difference does that make, onelasssttime? What matters is if HappyCabbie is really happy with being a vegetarian, AND if he is still doing the vegan thing, losing weight and still happy. Well?
and bet u though that was quite the clever euphemism "vaggie burger" what nonsense and no it wasn't funny but thats my opinion its offensive both as a vegetarian and a woman
Well yes I can see how juvenile that is. And again I apologize for offending. Unfortunately my sense of humor has been deemed crude by most comon standards.
Don't worry, Cabbie. Some of us women can handle, (and dish out), your kind of humor. I have enough stress in daily life than to get weirded out over something like that. Stop apologizing, it's your page.
Check out the video response to this video. Better yet post one yourself and let me know what you think. The BK Veggie is pretty good. Just don't expect it to taste like a burger.
Eggs are good but they do make you fart. As a vegan I won't consume any more meat but a cool option would be the veggies wrapped in a spinach tortilla. Unfortunately most restaurants wont have that. Breakfast at a restaruant is so limited for a vegan.
Way to go. I'm rootin for u man. I tried a vegie burger once and it was actually pretty good I was surprised but then again mine had a lot of mayo and mustard. I know you could do it Happy Cabbie!!!
I don't plan on eating too much of the veggie burgers because of the white bread. That in a later video. Most drive thru's now have salads and you can try them with lemon juice. That is very tasty.
because we are self destructive. We choose food, others choose alcohol, other choose gambling, and many other things as a function of their selfdestructiveness.
I am surprised at how many calories I am used to eating. I counted today that I am used to consuming over 6000. Most of it comes from soda and candy. 3 of those orange slices were 130 calories and I ate the whole bag. Probably 1500 calories right there for a snack.
Oh I used to love McDonalds. They had the chicken nuggets and the fries. However, I am off of that now. As far as Salads, Wendy's has the best Salads. Jack in the Box has some good Salads too but dare I say, they are too big?
It's cool that they have good vegi burgers the one i tried before tasted like dogfood. I guess it's good that I love to cook. & I'm with you & Ghraham on the youtube weaght loss
The problem is with this fake meat is that it never tastes like meat. It should be called a veggie patty or something like that. However it is a good alternative to a tripple whopper with cheese that I used to eat.
I've had a Boca burger before and didn't like it. Might try the Burger King thing.
No way I could go Vegi or Vegan ever, (even if a doctor said I'd die if I don't quit). My pro-meat and anti vegie videos are more hated then my bad singing balloon animal twister vid. I've wactched the slaughter-house vids and it made me hungry. Good luck, might want to look at Jared did @ Subway also, (but I think he had turkey on his diet.)
Most people are not going to give up meat and that is okay. Just make sure to cut out deep fried meat such as chicken or fish and go for lean cuts. Also make the veggies the focus of the meal rather than the meat. 6oz is all you need. So if you just make good choices in your meat you will loose weight. Although in your picture you are not fat.
If it tastes like a potatoe, then I think I will try it. Oh, I and do plan to join you guys with a workout video. It'll be up on either Monday or Tuesday.
Mustard shouldn't be that high in calories. When I eat fish i usually have it with some spicy mustard.

I am so glad you liked the video. Let me know what you think of it when you taste it.

I was wanting to try someting different, and gave it a whirl. I still like the regualr burger, but I do part-take in the veggie version quite often.
