The hollow stud is actually meant for monroe piercings, not your bottom lip. There are special retainers for you bottom lip.

My store manager used to give me crap about having my piercings in even with a clear retainer. Funny thing is that even with a stud, it's hardly noticeable. People need to get over the fact that piercings are out there and there's nothing wrong with tasteful piercings.

@MexicanaChicka92 i have braces and i got my lip pierced a month ago and this was something i though would interfere. but it doesnt interfere that much. it will for abit at the beggining because they give you bigger bars because your lip will swell for like 2 weeks, but after about 3-4 weeks you can change the bars to smaller ones that really dont interfere. :}

@rangeit1 by next week it'll be partially healed, but not fully, I don't really recommend it but you can, you'll have to clean it A LOT more so it heals quicker before, and it doesn't get infected after, every time you eat you'll have to clean it with alcohol or salt water and you'll have to mouthwash 2-3 times a day, but you can definitively do it, just be careful and good luck!

P.S. Don.t change you're piercing again until after 3 weeks after you put the clear bar in or it'll get infected :D.

Or buy a retainer, they are clear like a pinkish skin colour. you keep the ball off and pull the bar back slightly. it hides that you have the piercing and you cant see the hole, it looks like a tiny spot.

Oh and your lip piercing will close in roughly 30 minutes, doesnt matter if you have had it a year or more 30 minutes is how long it takes for it to shrink. It will hurt like a bitch putting it back in.... I tried it :p

@wordyward662 you can hide it make sure that you buy a retainer from the start or a normal one with screw on balls (take the balls off and flip it inside your nose) SWEET SPOT= pull upper lip down insert 2 fingers in both holes and you can feel a thin line between the cartilage and you actually hide of the nose. im currently at a 5.5mm septum and i just wear plugs thats much more comfortable

You get a STERILISED ear ring if you dont have a lip bar, when you have the stud or lip bar make sure its a but smaller than the needle so it can slip tough nicely, next you put the needle close to coming out but make sure it doesnt, put the ear ring or lip bar close to the end of the needle then slip the needle out and quickly but gently put in the ear ring or bar, then either clip it up or attach the end if its an ear ring (you know). the clear lip stud works, mine isnt balck, it is actualy see through but its realy long so i cut it (its made out of rubber otherwise it wouldnt be clear), but when i first got my lip pierced i took it out for like 25 minutes because of a teacher and it had started to close up, i forced the stud through and it got infected, thats how i ended up buying a clear one, its fine now :)

Your not allowed to have any piercings or anything on. soccer is soon and so is my lip piercing. Would i be able to take it out for like 2 hours every other day? or is there a way i can hide it where it can't fall out while playing?
