I was converted by arguments. So I'm completely bewildered by what he says. I really, truly, was converted by arguments. I think there's a tendency among philosophers nowadays to not take their own arguments very seriously and to treat their own profession as nothing more than an exercise in intellectual chess.
The arguments for God's existence matter. It is just a myth that no-one believes on the basis of them. I am proof of that. I believe in God purely on the basis of arguments.
@lolman6737 Are you the multi millionaire car salesman who funds the emmanuel fundamentalist schools in Tyneside and Northumberland? That Peter Vardy is at the heart of the Dawkins controversy about teaching creationism. This Peter Vardy is loved by students and teachers all over UK. Both high achieving, highly intelligent, although very different, influences in public life.
Yeah he's an intelligent guy and his books are very clear and concise, really helps me in my philosophy a level, his book "puzzle of god" is definitely worth a read :) xxxx

Yes, he believes god exists. He bases this on this on the idea that reason can only take one so far- and at some point faith must take over.

@qqqqqqqq Yes, I believe he is a member of the Church of England however his lectures seem rather Aristotelian (prime mover and such).
