Hey got to ask a question about illegal/Legal. Now i bought red and blue lights the other day. Like i fully understand the whole impersonation thing but am i allowed to have the lights in the car? Or is that impersonating straight off like who’s to say they aren’t any other colour only know once they are on. I don’t use them on the road unless I’m out whoop whoop with friends. I don’t know seems to be a confusing legal matter any help?
to those on about it being illegal. I have been installing warning devices for 5 years, two of which for the police. I have a concept car, it has lights and a siren. It is NEVER used on road. It is for displaying to emergency service agency. Some SES/RFS/VRA units may not know what is avail, so this concept car is used. as boxy1959 says, we are proffesionals, it is our job and we know the liability.

this day and age people notice wether or not police officers are police officers. as i said before if you get cought and you will you will be charged.
actually it is illegal to posses emergency warning lights and or sirens. youd be breaking road rules if you do and also most likely be facing criminal charges for impersenating a police officer

@CRIBBONATOR if they are hooked up to a hand break switch and they cant be used while the vehicle is in motion then yes they are legal in the car

iam a correctional officer and not a police officer and i have undercover light and siren in my car and i need them and for me is legal.

Nope! Only thing illegal were if you put them on in traffic in a non emergency situation or put a siren on.
