Awesome review, but I'm reading the manga at the moment, I'm upto volume 5, and ive been thinking about buying thr box set, so is the ending completely different from the manga?
It's not carried in stores much, it's always shit like Naruto and Dragon Ball Z that takes up the shelf space, doing not much more. It's hard to find the releases of horror or lesser known mangas because they are usually not stocked to begin with...and hence the lower sales...hence the being put on hold. At least it's not cancelled yet and I would recommend looking online for some fan translations of non U.S. releases, you could easily find these I would think.
This has begun to be translated into English, please support it and let the companies know people want to read horror manga and buy it. Be a dedicated fan and support your art form. There are currently volumes for sale to buy in the U.S.
I've been following your series for a while now, and I really enjoy all your reviews, but recently, your style has changed. I like your writing a lot better, as even though it has less personality than when you just sat in front of the camera, you have a lot more to say, and you make your words count. But the only complaint I have is when you show clips from the movies. I know you're just giving us a taste, but I like to go into movies completely fresh. Take that as you will. Good job though
your review style now kind of reminds me of cinemassacre's review style, how u shows clips of the movie. But anyway....i read the manga and it was pretty cool
I really liked the Reviews better when it was just videos of you talking about the video, as it left much to the imagination as you explained the movie, a few movie clips mixed in seems fine though.
Hi Rodger! I hope you're doing well. This series looks really good. I'll have to look for it. As someone studying criminal justice and I want to do homicide I am very interested in this type of stuff. Hmm I wonder if I can find the magna at my local bookstore. Only six episodes? Wow that stinks but they give lots of other good stuff though which is cool. I'm surprised they didn't do more graphic stuff on the DVD. Maybe they wanted to sell it in various markets and that's why like in the U.S.
but thats alway's the way, manga's are alway's better and show's/animes often drift from original storylines which do disapoint people. its like films are never better than the books and such. i think the only anime i've ever seen that i prefered to the manga is hellsing ultimate. but even hellsing (great show, my all time fave) drifts because the manga consentrates on charaters/story whereas the anime focusses more on the incrediable amount of violence.but hellsing ultimate is the best^^
Got to say three things. One aother great vid Swan. Two, this did the manga better then I thought but was missing one of my favorite bits from the comic that I missed, and three, read the manga after this or if you can't get ahold read it before hand.
with this movie you should really read the manga before even concidering to see the TV series. You get a better idea of the characters and the original concept of the story before put on screen.
also, the manga has some very good art but like you said some very graphic imagery.
I really love the tv series, even if is not related to the original manga, that I also I own with the tv series dvd, but, still is a nice ride in the world of MDP Psycho..
I got sucked into your reviews about three months ago. I watched "Infection"(which I really enjoyed) and "Maerebito" because of your reviews. If I may, I'd like to request a review of "Kwaidan" one of the first and in my opinion finest Japanese horror anthology films-I'm surprised it's not here. I think it was made in 1967-1968. George Romero ripped off the Ice Ghost sequence in his anthology film "Tales From the Dark Side."
I really enjoy your reviews. They seem well thought out and objective as opposed to many other reviews on YouTube. I wish you'd branch out to more genres than just japanese horrer, but whatever floats your boat (:. Do you have any kind of education in movies?
nothing formal, I've just been an avid collector for many years and I'm interested in always knowing who the director is, the actors, etc. There are some great Japanese films outside the horror genre that I would be interested in reviewing, so that is certainly a possibility.
i was for a while yeah. I really needed to take a long break from them, but now I feel enough energy and enthusiasm to give them a go again (in a different format to keep myself interested).
I'm really glad you decided not to give up your reviews. I"m a big fan and because of your reviews I have started to watch more j-horror films by some really great directors. (takishi mike for example) But if you are having trouble keeping interest maybe you can find research on the new grudge 3? Or the tale of two sisters which is being redone as the uninvited in the u.s this 2009.
ahhh another movie bein redone,REC's been redone,i have yet to watch the remake Quarantine,is it any good,im not sure, not out here yet so......J-horrors are good to watch!!!!,i wanna see The Wig,looks cool!!!!
i usually have an idea what the next month or two's worth of reviews are going to be (does that tell you how many dvds i own...), but occasionally when I buy new dvds I sometimes review those right away and it messes up my planned order haha.
wow i got a great deal then i found 1-3 unopened at a Goodwill for $4 each!

Alrighty, thanks for reviewing this! MPD Psycho is one of my favorite mangas right now, and your reviews generally coincide with my views.
How often in advance do you usually decide on a horror movie to review? Do you already have an idea for the next couple, or just choose on a whim?
Keep em coming man!
