I know upbringing plays a role but i cringe at hearing a Black girl esp with natural hair talk with the tonality, and vocal ways of a White girl. Now before you ask " is she supposed to sound ghetto"? Check all Black intellects such as Cornel West, Tavis Smiley, Maya Angelou etc. They are articulate but they sound Black, they sound like they have an emotional, social connection to their people.
