i live in a very rugged area... and we have a hill that goes down 3/4 of a mile over a road stretch of 2 miles. i've gotten up to 68 down it before i hit the brakes... at that point, you're thinking you don't want to know how fast you can go...
I have a Specialized Allez Sport and do roughly 20 to 25 mile trips. On a slight incline over 8 miles I average 24mph, downhill I peak at about 37mph and over the 8 miles in the opposite direction (slight uphill) I average about 18mph. All these speeds are roughly 6mph faster than on my Scott Aspect mountain bike with road tyres.
i had my gps with me on my 21 speed mountain bike and hit 32 mph i just couldnt pedal with the really high gears anymore or i woulda gone way faster. lol
@catascouts Hey man its SOapbox just changed my account...i used a generic brand HD pocket camcorder that i just jimmy rigged to my handle bars...apparently there is an adapter for cameras to place on handlbars
Oh, that hill is about 8% at the steepest, but I also had a tailwind. You decend about 450 feet in 1.5 miles. Lot's of fun, but you don't want to crash!
try taking a crap before you go out next time or just drop your pants and shit out the back for some of newtons law.

haha, that's awesome. I've got a Raleigh Grand Sport coming to me in a few weeks. I can't wait to go down some hills. How steep was the hill?
