@pcblah im talking about the american unit for speed, 'miles per hour'.... and who the heck drives in a clean area?.... its no fun :P Plus, all newer engines that come from the factory have a air filter so, i believe it has a reason.

@pcblah but still, ,running with an air filter is thr RIGHT way. thats all that matters. if you run it with a filter, alll you have to clean is the filter rather than the carb and as well as the engine. so why run without it?
Yes, it is for a boat, which is nearly completed. I built this engine as a labor of love. There is no "they". It is a one of a kind, at least of this size. It is based off of one a racing buddy of mine built that has 3.5cc TOTAL displacement. It's going on a dyno sometime this winter.

shouldnt you have air filters on that... ? the engines last longer if you run it with a filter rather than just leaving it open like that?
