  • how long it will hold an information on it in million of years vs hdd?

  • Yo, Princess...you might want to soak your hands in some lemon fresh joy, and get out to the manicurist maybe one more time per week.

  • 50sec for booting up????My ASUS N73JQ bootsup in just 35sec without a SSD,With msconfig you can shut down a lot off crab that you dont need for booting up.

  • @helthuismartin Did you letter in English in school?

  • EWWWW VISTA....

  • just received the usb 3.0 external 128gb version, but i don't want to use it as an external ssd, especially through usb. i've removed the mainboard from it's casing and also removed the USB 3.0 daughterboard from the mainboard. from here i've conncected it to the sata interface along with the appropriate power cables, but when trying to boot i get the message of:

"this is not a bootable please insert floppy bla' - was wondering if there are any ways around this, any help appreciated! thanks.

  • @Release1234 It's an empty drive - if you want to boot off it, install an OS on it.

  • @sciguy14 This reminds me of the joke about the Pollock who went to the store to get a chainsaw. He brought it back two weeks later and complained that it couldn't even cut a chord of wood in 3 whole days. The salesman took the chainsaw in his hands, started it up...VRROOOOM! The Pollock jumped back, wide-eyed and EXCLAIMED "WHAT THE HELL IS THAT?"

  • merde, 240 hours and crash, 128 Gb, Made in China, super schmejd

  • merde, 240 hours and crash, 128 Gb, Made in China

  • Will this do a good job on storing my porn collection for at least 20 years?

  • @Thetrutv no its only 128GB

  • @Thetrutv No...this drive is only rated for a million hours. You'll definitely use it more than that for your porn "collection".

  • it would be even faster with sata wouldn't it?

  • @warlockboyburns ...it is SATA... it's in the computer... Watch the video again.

  • @warlockboyburns oh .. my bad sorry

  • is it fast using usb?

  • @warlockboyburns I don't think you are watching the whole video. It is the internal drive. It comes with an external case for your old harddrive.

  • Macrium Reflect is also a good partition backup Tool

  • nice although you defeat the purpose of the SSD if you are running it as an external USB drive you should have it connected internally to the sataII port and use it to replace the hard drive then benchmark the drive you will find faster boot speeds and quicker access times faster read/write

  • @BoredAussieGamer I don;t think you paid very close attention to the video. The SSD is the internal hard drive. watch again.

  • @BoredAussieGamer ur a fuking retard it is internal moron

  • if they made them 3.5" wouldnt they be able to hold more data??

  • @dethklok1989 Physical space isn't the issue. Flash chips are small. The hard part is keeping the price down.

  • wow, this solid state drive is so fast compared to the mechanical drive you displayed in this video..

  • What's the song name?

  • @rajkanrajkan no name, it's a custom song.

  • Can you install this on any / most laptops? How much does it cost?

  • @momin8888 I give the price in the video. And it will work in all SATA laptops

  • where can you buy a anti static thing where you use in your pc build movies?

  • Mines from radioshack

  • thanks for the video, malaysia only release 30GB SSD Now soon.

  • i always wondered, does a SSD gb hold more than a hard drive GB, is 128gb SSD equivilent to a larger HD? are SSD,s better for PC games?

  • u have just caused a bunch of people to commit suicide... lol... but to answer... 128 GB SSD is equivalent to 128 GB HDD, quantity is quantity.

  • Whats the Best and Easiest Software to Re size a hard drive?........

  • the built-in tools in linux.

  • How about for windows 7?.......

  • Personally, I'd boot a linux live CD. But you can also use the disk manager built-into Windows. If you have the right version.

  • i never use ssd. do SSD get hotter than HDD?

  • not really

  • No, that's one of many advantages:

They stay cool, use less power, make no noise and are faster.

  • whats the BURST SPEED?so the HDD beat SSD in that category?

  • Burst Speed is an instantaneous value, and actually has more to do with RAM than the hard drive. The difference in speeds probably has to do with the quality of the SATA controller on each drive.

  • is there a Mac version of that cloning software? looks good

  • I dont think they make it for mac.

  • What model is this ? Is it Kingston V series 128gb ssd? (there's a V+ series )

  • V series

  • Thanks for the review. This is helpful.

  • once again brother great vid ? for ya kinstons 40gb ssd boot drive is availible ffor about 130 from the egg as a drive just for the os and aps do you think i would get a major performance boost over my seagat7200.11 witch will be for storage or would a raptor be just as good do u think it would be worthwhile

  • Just curious is one ssd drive faster than 4 1 tb caviar black western digital drives in raid 0? Would like to see benchmarks comparing the two since they cost about the same 400 bucks.

  • It depends on how you define faster. I think the 4 caviars may seem faster, but would still not compare the SSD's random write speeds.

  • Amazing review.

The best one i have seen for this drive on Youtube, 5 stars.

  • thanks!

  • i persume this ssds software solves the annoying hassle of having to align the partition....

but i doubth it has linux support :(

tip... never ever ever try running a Artigo a1000 with a SATA SSD if its the old version....

(thats pretty much stalled my wearable computer project.... thank you very much VIA! you smucks!)

  • my laptop a d820 close lol

  • Comment removed

  • It worked well for me

  • can i use the SSD as a regular hard drive for my computer?

  • yes

  • yes but for operating systems its generaly adviced that one use a Single layer cell ssd...

this one does come with a 3 year waranty... but i doubth it will last much longer then that..

operating systems write to specific parts of a drive repeatedly...

    flash drives deteriorate with use...

in SLC drives this wear is spread over the drive... in a MLC its generaaly not...

    but SLC cost a fortune...

but if your ok with a short life span it a mlc will work too..

  • you are right in the respect of FLASH DRIVES, but a SSD is not exactly a Flash Drive. it uses completely different technology than a standard Flash Drive and different methods to read/write. that is why in any other video you will watch, they say "ACTS like a Flash Drive" and not "This is just a giant Flash Drive". because if they were, then They wouldn't be making SSD, but instead selling very high capacity usb Flash Drives.

  • @ZerqTM ,, , dude MLC drives can work up to one million hours, ,in that time you will die first and the ssd will stil be working , , i also though that the SLC one is alot better but when it comes to budget i better go with 2 MLC in raid which will beat a single SLC that costs 600 pounds + , ,

  • the problem is operating systems often write to the same part of the disk.

thuis wearing it out more quickly...

  • well, there is solution for that in the SSDs with INTEL CONTROLLER

  • Its not exclusivly intel most SLC drives have the nand solution among other tricks

the usual thing to do is to use nand (not and operation)

  • not accurate, remember HDD heads floats over the surface of the platter (about one micron), hence there is no friction by contact or rubbing

  • Macs are for homosexuals, and people who dont know how to build a real computer.

  • so my school is gay?

  • YES, very much so.

  • wow your right!

  • I sure am, whats your point?

  • my point is that your are correct

  • LMFAO, owned.

  • your reviews are getting awsome man, they have this touch of perfection now!!!!!!!!!!!

    good work man

  • HAHA my macbook boots in 30 sec with a 5400rpm HDD and 1 gig of ram vista sucks and windows sucks nuff said

  • I'm sure your macbock doesn't come close to his laptop in file transfer speeds/application loading times. That's all that matters anyway on a laptop because turning it off is pointless when it can restore in less than 10 seconds from sleep or hibernation.

  • umm my macbook can transfer a 2gb file in 1.5 mins but im upgraded to SSD because my friend did and his macbook boots in 5-10 secs now so im buying a 80gb intel SSD

  • mac poser buy a mac

  • i like the way you did the intro :) nice review

  • no offense but it is not a solid state hard drive just a solid state drive. hence SSD and not SSHDD

  • OK, that was a good video. That little episode with TJ was kinda ugly, I don't want to see that repeated. It was an offer of battle to see who had the prettier cabling, yech.

    How'd first year college go?

  • You have me confused with my brother. I never had an issue with TJ. That was zoop425. College is good though :)

  • Lol Kingston... I will never buy anything from them with all the trouble I had. Good thing they have a 3 year warranty, a lot of repairs are ahead.

In regards to the info on the side, that is an awful slow machine, My boot time is faster than both their SSD and HDD boot times, I'm on a HDD from western digital. Just saw the boot time on the video, with the specs they are, they should boot much faster (as the same speed of my machine). Then again, they're Dell, so that explains a bit.

  • The primary issue is the OS, not the machine. Vista needs to be reinstalled pretty badly, which is the reason for the poor loading times. But what is important is the difference between the HDD and SDD loading times, which should scale.

  • Someday when I can afford it, I might get a 128GB SSD, and install all my games to that, then I can get some extremely good loading times :D

  • what dock is that at top the laptop screen

  • rocketdock

  • Would it be possible for me to back up all my documents and such so that what's left on my HDD is just my 2 partitions (Vista & Win7 RC1) and then mirror those over with the software and use the SSD as a boot drive while the 250GB HDD is my media drive?

Also, does that SSD come in conventional 3.5" sizes? Hopefully it's cheaper than others...

  • This is the notebook kit. You should get the desktop kit, which comes with a 3.5 inch bay adapter. You can do that with the docs, but you'll need to resize partitions and stuff.

  • most ssd only come in a very small 1.0 1.3 1.8 inch size or the standard 2.5 inch for laptops however most come with the adapter to mount it in a 3.5 inch drive bay

  • Hey dude, you're back making reviews! Now you can unblock me from the forums : )

  • i just cum

  • Wow... good one. Get off of youtube.

  • what are u studying for in your college or uni?

  • Electrical and Computer Engineering

  • Can you pair this SSD with a Velociraptor or one of WD's Caviar Black HDDs in RAID-0?

  • Why would you want to? Just put two of them in RAID.

  • Cause I want to load my OS on the SSD and use a HDD for storage.

  • Raid Doesn't work like that. See my techbits video on the subject.

  • what a great review! very high quality 5 stars!

  • what editing software do you use cuz I like that intro. what camera too?

  • The intro is in 3ds max, Camera is a Canon Vixia HF11

  • when did you start getting into computers

  • when I was 5

  • Where do you guys get all this expensive merchandise? It seems you are too young to get a job like myself so whats up?

  • I repair computers, get money from web ads, work for an engineer, etc.

  • Do you mind telling me how you get money from web ads and what type of work for an engineer. I need some cash because at my age I can't be employed.

  • I'm 19, so I'm not to young for a job. I've been repairing computers for 5 years, producing video montages for longer (though I don't do that anymore), and I get money from advertisements on my website, and on youtube because I'm a youtube partner. Most of the add money goes to running my website though. I have a summer job with an electrical engineer, doing...electronics work for him.

  • Oh okay thanks.

  • Sweet a new review!

I need to get me a ssd.
