@Tifaly85 well in greek mythology of the story of pandora's box, after releasing the terrors into the world, pandora closed the box leaving only hope inside of it. hope prolongs the pain of something. hoping that a missing person isn't dead, hoping someone truly loves you when they don't etc. it gives u something to strive for despite the possibility that there isn't anything in the end
