  • Roy Orbison is a GOD

  • With all due respect to Linda (HUGE respect): this was jersey that should have been hung up.

  • sweet song!!!

  • Great audio! Thanks for posting . Love Linda Ronstadt doing this also but it belongs to Roy!

  • makes me smile

  • LOVELY!!!

  • What a talent.....His wife passed just last year.....his life a real tragedy....Rest in Peace Roy

  • Elvis described him as the best singer the white man had ever produced...

  • A truly gifted performer ... he sang, composed and wrote lyrics. It seemed that he never really got the notariety he deserved.

  • Yup Texas is the champion state :p

  • When Roy went on tour in the early 60's, the warm up band to the concert was none other than the Beatles. Now tell me he isn't good.

  • 800th like

  • Is it any wonder he was known as "The Voice"?

  • Roy Orbison, a one of a kind singer and a true classic. There'll never be another like him.

  • another great Texas artist...he was born in vernon,tx bout 120 miles from where i live makes me even more proud to be a Texan!!!

  • @charleysgirl86 wish i lived in Texas,im in lame Taxachusetts

  • @redwing831 *clicked

  • @redwing831 i couldn't resist,lol lata

  • Superb! Roy was a beautiful person with a vocal range not typical of most singers. His lilting quality made the love songs he sang even sweeter. R.I.P Roy and Thanks!

  • @AnnaCWardrobe, I like the idea that it is Creole for "I love you".

  • I had every song he ever made. He was a voice you just cannot get out of your head.

Elvis said he was his faveroute singer

  • Roy wasn't really appreciated until the early 90's. His music was used in several movies and he bacame very popular.

  • Roy had his share of heartbreak in his life and it clearly shows in his wonderful voice

  • Roy Orbison - a true genius, a pioneer, my favorite artist of all time and the greatest balladeer of the Rock Era! Thanks for another great song by the Big O!

  • what religion does the cross that he wears belong to???---just curious

  • @AutumnFlower5 I don't know, but if you ever get to know it let me know.

I saw hin several times at Rokefellers in Houston, Tx. back in the 80's I saw his

Malta Cross but I never ask him about it.

  • @AutumnFlower5 I'm no theologian but I'm guessing it's Christianity.

  • I remember when song come out after some weeks it was withdrawn because lyrics might upset blind and going blind people, the lyrics were changed to suit, surely Roy Orbison would not have been happy about

  • Only No.33 ! Stone the crows . . . the other 32 must have been the greatest songs of the last 10,000 years in this galaxy to push this down to No.33 It's just sheer Roy brilliance.

  • How did this not hit #1?

  • His singing, doesn't matter what song, always makes me teary. I think he had the most evocative voice ever. (Although Bing Crosby comes very close).

  • Music like this don't happen anymore. I feel blesed to have heard this. Did Roy even realize how much his voice would impact people?

  • AWSOME!!

  • hey thanks for posting it. Great song. I woke up with it in my head this morning and haven;t thought of this song for many years and so was so happy to find it on youtube

  • the'll never be another roy orbison we were so lucky to have his music wow what a great artist

    frankie dee

    hershey, pa.

  • The first video I have every seen on youtube with 0 dislikes. I added my thumbs up to the mix. :]

  • @BrittanyVigil LOL, I have hundreds of videos posted with "0" dislikes (and even some of the ones with 1 or 2 dislikes are typing errors (or so the people who pressed "dislike" tell me). However, that being said, there is always going to be somebody that doesn't like a song for whatever reason.

  • @Nocaro Add to that the self hating worthless weasels who will "dislike" out of spite as soon as someone points out the 0 dislikes. Obviously they don't count either, here or in real life.

  • @BrittanyVigil now theres 3 :(

  • genialny utwor,genialny artysta ! Ponadczasowe dzielo !

  • Esto es TALENTO.

    Bravo!!!

  • Love, Love Looooooove this!

  • high class

  • Usual amazing performance from Orbison. Linda Ronstadt did an amazing cover, but Roy's version is the original. Looking at Orbison's career it is surprising he didn't take off when at Sun where Elvis then Johnny Cash dominated the airwaves. Cash & Orbison were of course great friends and as is well known lived next door to each other at Hendersonville near Nashville. As has been noted - zero 'dislikes' . . . .

  • WOW! WHAT A VOICE!

  • All I'm gonna say is "I Duddits!" I appreciate all 20's-90's music, well a greater majority. Current music is okay.... Nothing compared to then. Thumbs up for classical music and the fantastic Steven King film "Dreamcatcher"

  • @Z0MB1EA55N DUDDITS!!! Dream Catcher hahaa

  • 0 dislikes! as it should be!

  • the 50,s 60,s 70,s 80,s music has never been better then back in the day

  • @TheHillbilly1955 so happy that this makes more of us...so true ...sad though...but thrilled this BEAUTIFUL MUSIC exists...

  • As a young boy, the big 'O', was one of the many great singers in the 60's, that inspired me to sing. The rest, as they they say ladies and gentlemen, is history! Even today in my 50's, I sing and play my guitar(s) every-single-day! God bless you Roy! x

  • De mis meros tiempos, es lo máximo...

  • Does anyone know what the back-up singers are singing?

  • @Duncan1763 People "hear" a lot of things in the background singing of that song including Creole "I love you", but at that time Joe Melson and Roy experimented with the doo-wop backup singers arranged by Anita Kerr. It gave him a sound so unique, it took years to really appreciate..

  • Thumbs up if Dream Catcher brought you here!!!

  • The Wink, Texas Blues forever!

  • Roy wasn't one of the best. He was THE BEST. Totally in a class by himself. Another league, with him the only one in it. The music back then was the best also. Nothing but crap today for music.

  • golden oldie!

  • I always thought Roy Orbison was blind...always wearing those dark glasses like Stevie Wonder and Ray Charles...........aaaahhhmmmm maybe he is blind...cause I never see him without it.

  • @vxenon67 -- Actually, he isn't blind. According to "Wikipedia": "After leaving his thick eyeglasses on an airplane in 1962 or 1963, Orbison was forced to wear his Ray-Ban Wayfarer prescription sunglasses on stage and found that he preferred them". He was my all-time favorite. It matters not what all others say. He was in the top ten of all R&R singers and songwriters as far as I'm concerned.

  • i didn't know he wrote this song. beautiful rendition.

  • Beautiful singing as always with THE BIG O.Thanks for the post.

  • could listen to roy all day ,,serenity,,,,

  • Wow!!!!!

  • Underbar låt , vilken röst, älskar

  • when I stand before the Last Judgement, I want it known that I listened to this song all my life like it was the first time I ever heard it.

  • * * * * *

    AWESOME

  • Roy is the Man.

  • Roy. Oh, Roy, why you die like that?

  • Interesting his greatest fan, Jeff Lynne (ELO, Traveling Wilburys) also had a complex about showing his eyes..

  • Music of my life.

Still remember hearing for the first time way back when.

  • he is one the best performer whose enchanting music i've ever encountered in this lifetime... viva.... : > )

  • MAGNIFIQUE. Y A PAS PHOTO.

  • Does anyone know what the sirens are singing in the Backing Vocal's?

  • @megarillo Bee pop style stuff.

  • DID YOU KNOW THAT THE CORRECT NAME OF BOTH THE RIVER AND LAKE CORRIB IN COUNTY GOLLIV, SOUTHERN IRELAND, IS ACTUALLY "ORBISSIE" OR "ORBISON", DEPENDING ON YOUR IRISH-LINGO DIALECT? I LOVE TO JOKE THAT THE LATE ROY HAD THOSE TWO BEAUTIFUL PLACES WERE PREQUELS IN HIS MEMORY! June 2, 2011.

  • @squirell1952 Wha??? I'm Irish too and I ain't NEVER heard that. Surely the Irish is Coirib?

  • @BaronVonPenguin - Coirib or Corrib are corruptions of Loch Orbisse. Say it quicklyand you'll hear!!

  • @squirell1952 Ah I see! Very good!!

  • ????????????? I don't get it.

  • I have to say,i could listen to him sing all day long,What a voice he had! Now,we must listen to his music, recorded, better that than never!

  • Fantastic no impersonators on this planet ever come close to the master. God Bless you and all your family.

  • That's surprising.....that this song peaked at only #33 on the charts ! It's a classic !

  • @dovermoreno shoulda had a top 10 hit with this, maybe even #1
