  • 2:35 vinyl is 3mm thick??? human hair??? my friend you are little off.

    human hair is avarage 0,1mm

vinyl and 3mm? in that amater plotter u can get like 150 grams force. for 3mm vinyl u will need (i guess) at least 1,5 kg (1500grams). i am not even sure if someone makes 3mm thick vinyl.

i have roland gx-24 plotter (veeery good plotter). price about 1500€ and force is max 250-300 grams and when i cutting 3d carbon vinil (0,5 - 0,7 mm) i have to slow it down to 20 mm/s (max is 500 mm/s).

  • where do i buy vinyl for this machine, i want to stick it on somethin

  • insted of using walls; can you also stick it to plexie glass?

  • Did he say where to set your speed?

  • wow Dan! marry me?? a guy who knows his way round a cricut? be still my heart LOL great job!

  • is vinyl the same as contact paper

  • looks like a lot of work lol

  • Does it work on Circut Personal?

  • Very nice! Thanks.

  • yes that's THICK hair. 6mm hair omg.

  • At 2.32 > "Vinyl is 3mm thick, that's half the thickness of human hair" ...So, we should be looking like Porcupines!?! :oP

  • Dan you are the man

  • nice demo...and katie cotton...what a great name hehe

  • You can get transfer tape in rolls , same place you buy the Vinyl - Oracal -It's much cheaper as well :)

  • @GlassyARTmuse

Where do you purchase your vinyl & transfer tape?

  • can u make your own designs?? example: if draw a picture can that be cut on the cricut??

  • @makeupbliss , sure can do it on GIMP (free) or Photoshop and have it traced with SCAL - I use my Cricut for sandblasting images and fusing

  • Where do you get the roll of Transfer Tape?

  • OMG EVRY1!!! I Just found the COOLEST ZEBRA VINYL for cricut cutters. Just go to ebay and search cricut zebra vinyl. u gotta check it out its awesome. I cant find nething like it newhere.

  • will this be in arlington this year???? please tell me yes:)

  • Yea, excellent video-except for the incorrect explanation of the material thickness (3 millimeters?!), improper technique (applying transfer tape, removing the backing sheet and applying the vinyl), wrong terminology (wax paper) and incorrect information (60 degree blade for cheap cal vinyl?!, just scratch the surface, double faced transfer tape) it's great!!!

  • i was there it was amzing

  • Thank you for this video. The settings of pressure medium and blade 4 didn't work for my non-Cricut vinyl but your comments helped me fine tune my system. "it should cut like butter so the blade will just barely cut through the vinyl and leave the paper. I ended up making a single cut repeatedly until the blade cut through the vinyl like butter instead of a jagged edge. That blade depth was 1.5 on my deep cut blade. Hope this helps someone out there!

  • Hi Jazznjava - you make compelling points, no doubt! He is a reseller though and a popular one at that! Some people have never seen Design Studio software in action so part of the video lets them observe that....just a demo of all the stuff at once! As you stated, definitely NOT needed to cut vinyl. Thanks for watching!

  • Hmm, This is an interesting video. In it the demonstrator uses every toy cricut sells, and quite frankly he is showing about $600 more stuff than one needs to make that simple cut. It is a poor representation of how simple, cheap and efficient cricut can be.

  • I so agree wit you Jazznjava!

A lot of us are looking for simplicity first... just getting started!

  • @jazznjava I'm interested how you'd do it differently. Please let us know :)

  • @onlinehoster okay let me get thru the weekend and i will be back. thanks.

  • Very nice!!!! thanks for sharing!!!

  • Thanks for the great video!

When can I purchase transfer tape on a big role like the one you used?

  • Dan,

EXCELLENT Video. I am ready to try my vinyl. Great instruction and great reasoning at the end.

It is so good to have a CLEAR step by step instructional video that is easy to relate to and so easy to understand.
