hey,im thinking of getting a baby checkered garter an im wondering if for its whole LIFE could i only feed it feeder fish every once and a while and nightcrawlers as the staple diet
hey can some one help me my garter snake light broke and i put him in a smaller tank with a heating pad and about 2 weeks later and my snake is all gray and doll color is he sick or what plz reply
@ExtremeHerps Totally, they are escape artists. lol Nice setup BTW. 10ish years ago I had 3 garters, 2 big and 1 small. They were so cool. When I put my hand in the tank they would rise up and wrap around my arm. Man did they like worms. Best part, one day I noticed movement in the substrate, there was like 8 babies. :D
dont find goldfish they carry crap not good for them, other wise ..worms ,minnows and maybe feeder guppies ..mice good too but some people are all eeew about that
@ExtremeHerps hey i really liked this vid beginning to end i just got a question...im getting a ribbon snake they say they are in the same family of the garter snake but like the cool weather and tend to swim anyway im getting it online so i was wondering where u got the deal for $20 cause by me petsmart petco or any reptile store sells garters so that would help me save some money cause shipping on pets is expensive...
@xXTHExSiMPLExLiFEXx yeh i think they are pretty much similar but ribbon snake seem to be smaller and skinnier than garters and i like garters better but i got mine at my local pet shop that is huge its called that fish place but i guess you could buy from petco with my expirience petco has done fine with leopard geckos but ive heard really bad reviews about garters from thier (that actualy where not garters) but if you buy your snake online they will put a heat pack in the box so itll stay warm
@ExtremeHerps allrightyy thanx man...ill stick to not to my guts and not buying anything from petco or petsmart live lolz but yeh ill let u know when i get my ribbon snake

I don't know.. the title says garter snake care, but I see a snake being antagonized and dropped... No water dish, no hides??
Infernalis1 4 months ago
@Infernalis1 what do you mean? he has two hides and a water dish and the only reason i droped him is cause he was really jumpy
