Persians do need baths. Their fur is so thick that they can't get to the skin, so the old dander and all can cause skin issues. Most don't like it, of course (I always let a groomer be the bad guy), but they need it. All cats, like all dogs, need to be bathed, as they can only get at the top hairs, but with persians, it's essential.

you arent meant to bath cats... they see to that themselves. they have been designed to bath themselves for centuries without the help of people. AND when you bath a cat you destroy and get rid of their natural oils that help keep their fur and skin nice. unless your cat has rolled in crap i wouldnt bath it.
