  • @11alexx22 anti lag basiclly keeps the turbo spinning (keeps boost pressure up) for when you are slowing down and changing gear, this mens you can plant your foot on the throttle again and your already at full boost(no lag). it will take too long to decribe exactly how it works but try google!

  • @11alexx22 what you see is burning of intake charge inside the hot exhaust.

    It can only get there in an unburnt state when the ignition is retarded to the point where the spark is produced after the exhaust valve has opened.

    The effect is combustion inside the manifold and turbine which keeps the turbo spinning, This what you want when you close the throttle.

    Once you open the throttle again the turbo will be producing boost very fast=ALS

    variable valve timing can also be used for ALS

  • @lzr32 yea i did.. u buy the system.. set it up.. and tune it with a dyno. so its not affecting the engine or perfomance at all..

  • Im stupid? Chatter is nothing more then the turbo stalling during a gear change. This car is having the anti-lag set-up thats while there is still chattering going on.

  • I know, but at 1:13 he`s on full gas and it chatters. That is because the turbocharger creates so much air to the intake pipes, all of it can`t make it to the engine because there is just not room for it. So it tries to find a way to escape and it hits the turbocharger blades. Therefore the turbo is "stalling", "surgeing", "chattering" or whatever you want to call it.

  • No it doesn't make it to the engine because the throttle closes during a gear change and the charge air has no-were to go. So the pressure builds up, hits the compressor blades and 'chatters'

  • Never heard that antilag would do it`s magic when gas pedal is on the floor. I know it does something when you release the gas pedal. And I was all the time talking about having the gas pedal on the floor when the chatter starts, not when he releases gas. Just listen to the engine at 1:13, nowhere near letting off the gas and it chatters. Same happens in the Synapse R33 dyno video. And on a Scania truck puller video. Lot of evidence in YouTube

  • I tends to heat up the exhaust and turbo quite alot. It will shorten the life of the turbo but its worth it for the extra performance. plus its switchable so not worried as its only on every now and again

  • The popping and banging is the anti-lag igniting fuel in the turbo and exhaust. The flames are the aftermarth.

  • it's not streetlegal, it was meant for track use only and it sortens the engine and turbos life faster then you could imagine.

  • if you tune it correctly, it will only do minimal damage....this setup seems to spool the turbo while the rpms decrease

  • even if you have like the worlds best tune on it. that anti lag will kick your turbos ass and exhaust so hard... lol just get a supercharger, more reliable haha, but ti does rob some torque so hopefully it wont matter cause you already have a shit ton

  • it dont matter how you tune it mate retards the ignition loads (like 50-60 degrees) during gear changes, which results in the mixture firing while the exhaust valve is open so no matter how you tune that heat is goin strait to the turbo and exhaust fanifold

  • not really. it shook most of the bolts out on one trackday tho!! it makes everything rather hot and will shorten the life of the turbo but not to any great extent. Makes a huge difference to performance tho!!
